American Sniper (2014)

Continuity mistake: While Chris is waiting for his baby girl to finish being breast-fed, he talks to his wife and puts heaps of stuffed animals, including the really big one that he won, for his then girlfriend/later wife, into the cot. When he puts the baby down into the cot, there's not a stuffed animal to be seen.

Rebecca (1940)

Question: In the back seat of De Winter's car, at lunch from the inquest, I can't get all of what Favell says: As he throws a chicken bone out of the car window, he says, "By the way, what do you do with old bones..." and then I lose it. At the end, he says, "however, for the time being."

kh1616

Chosen answer: From the screenplay of "Rebecca" which I found on-line, and verified by looking at two different versions, the entirety of the line is: "By the way, what do you do with old bones? Bury them, eh what? However, for the time being - you know, Max, I'm getting awfully fed up with my job as a motor-car salesman."

Arachnophobia (1990)

Continuity mistake: Near the beginning, the clumsy guy walks backwards into a giant cobweb, so he is covered in it, but, as he leaves, there isn't a cobweb in sight on him.

Still Alice (2014)

Character mistake: At the hospital, Alice's husband says, "Here we are, in a major hospital, and they only have one elevator." In fact, there are two elevators, right beside each other. He actually looks at the other one before making the comment.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: He meant one elevator bank that actually worked. During the time they waited, none came.

MovieFan612

Exactly. He says "they only have one elevator running", which is different than saying they only had one elevator.

Wanted (2005)

Rush - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: At the guest house in the mountains, Lola puts an opened beer bottle on the kitchen bench. When we see the bench again, the beer bottle is not there, and then, later, the other woman picks up the bottle, wipes the bench and puts the bottle on a coaster.

Mister Roberts (1955)

Continuity mistake: When Frank gets his mail, he first reads out loud the letter from Doug, but then the next letter says that Mister Roberts, Doug, is dead. Depending on the cameras' viewpoint, the letter is crumpled, then not, then crumpled again before Doc takes it away from him.

kh1616

Character mistake: When they get the elephant, she is a she, but the boss man continually refers to her as "the bull", which means male. A female elephant is called a cow.

Flight (2012)

Character mistake: When Whip is in the hospital, standing straight in front of the camera is a ridiculous nurse; she takes down the empty IV bag and pulls the bag away from the IV line, she drops the bag on the floor, a big no-no, but try as she might she can't seem to get the spike to go into the new bag. While she's doing all this, she's waving that sterile spike everywhere, touching everything she can, including herself, and picking up germs that will go straight into Whip's IV line, and into his body, when, finally she gets that infected spike into the infected new bag.

Other mistake: The bank robbers only took old notes, but the lead detective on the case reads out how much money was stolen: "Two million, six hundred and sixty-seven thousand, five hundred and twenty-seven dollars and sixty-two cents." There wasn't any change, it was all notes.

Gone Girl

Factual error: On page 512, line 10, there is a mistake in the "voice over" when dealing with the killing of Desi, "the feel of his own blood spurting between his fingers with each pulse." The jugular vein was cut, and veins don't spurt with each pulse; they ooze. Arteries do the spurting with each pulse.

Sin City (2005)

Audio problem: When Bruce Willis is in hospital with an IV and nasal oxygen, we can hear the sounds of a respirator - the air going in, the respirator filling with air - but no respirator is present, and Bruce isn't sharing his room with someone else.

Insomnia (2002)

Question: At the end, Maura Tierney is lying on Al Pacino's bed, having a nap/sleep. Are we then to presume they had sex before Pacino went to the airport to catch his plane back to LA?

kh1616

Answer: OMG, even my 7-year old daughter realised that the scene was made for the exact opposite reason. Dormer and Tierney talked "all night" and Tierney was sleepy. Dormer and Tierney had a genuine (if short-lived) friendship. Her sleeping on his bed only referred to their trust in one another. His bed had no metaphorical meaning. In fact, it was Ellie who developed a strong crush on Dormer. A crush that interfered with her objectivity as a policewoman.

Chosen answer: Since no answer is given in the film, the audience must make their own assumptions.

The Reader (2008)

Continuity mistake: When Michael comes back with a bunch of flowers, Hannah is ironing. One second she's ironing a girdle (I think it is), and the next second she's ironing a bra.

American Sniper (2014)

Trivia: During Chris' final tour he is on the phone to his wife, telling her he's ready to come home. He and about eight other men are pinned down on a rooftop - if you look closely at a left-handed rifleman, after firing over a thousand bullets, and over a period of about 30-60 minutes, he doesn't wound or kill one enemy man.

The Big Sleep (1946)

Character mistake: When Lauren is playing roulette, she has $14,000 worth of chips sitting on red - if she wins, she gets double, $28,000; and if she loses, she loses all of the $14,000 - but the croupier is troubled and says to Lauren that she hasn't got enough to cover the bet, which is ridiculous; all her $14,000 chips are sitting on red, what more does she need? Even the head croupier is called in, and, after much chatting, all the other players are asked to take their chips away as only Lauren is playing this round, which is ridiculous: All they have to lose is $28,000; that's nothing for them.

Pan's Labyrinth (2006)

Trivia: Near the end, in the middle of the maze, there are raised circles on the ground, the outside circle the biggest, and onto the next, smaller circle and so on. Similar circles feature in "Hellboy", also directed by Guillermo del Toro.
