Question: How did Peyton get back in the house at the end without keys?
Answer: The same way any common criminal gets in to a house, she "broke" in by either kicking the door, or smashing a window, etc. A locked door is not that hard an obstacle to overcome.

Joe Dirt (2001)
Question: I don't understand the joke that Clem says when he's cleaning in the hallway, right before the killer mustard gas sequence. He says something like, "Let me ask you something. Does your mother sew?" *smacks the object he's talking to* "Boom! Get her to sew that!" Can anybody explain this?
Answer: It's not so much a joke with a punchline, but more like a funny phrase. He was affiliated with the mob, and as such, has most likely been in violent situations. He asks "does your mother sew" and then punches his refelection in the fire extinguisher case (someone's face if a fight was really happening). The "get her to sew that" comment implies that the person he hit would have needed stitches. (thus the reference to sewing.)
He was referring to fixing the hole left in the clothes after being shot.

Kill Bill: Volume 2 (2004)
Question: Right before Kiddo is accepted under Pai Mei, she asks when she will see Bill again. Bill's response to the question is it's the title to his favorite 70s soul song. What song is he refering to?
Answer: It wasn't his response. She says "When will I see you again?" - He is saying that "When Will I See You Again" is the name of his favorite 70's soul song, not that the answer to her question is his favorite song. Confusing at first, I know.

Question: What does the "JAS" in Hook's "JAS Hook, Captain" signature on the ransom note stand for? Is it possibly Hook's true name? (Going off of the Q&A about his name posted here).
Answer: Jas is simply an older three-letter abbreviation for the name James. Was also used in Peter Pan creator J. M. Barrie's short story, "Jas. Hook at Eton" - a reference to the fact that James Hook might have been an Old Etonian, due to the fact that he has a tattoo of the crest of England's Eton College on his chest.

General questions
I know from "Making of" documentaries etc. that for computer-generated effects (e.g. a monster or a background) they use green-screen or blue-screen. It only ever seems to be these two colours. I don't know anything about computer effects, so why these two colours? (It seems to me it would be easier to animate onto a plain white screen?) Also, why do they sometimes use blue screens and sometimes green? Is there any difference between these two? Thanks.
Answer: When using these screens, the action is filmed in front of them, and then the "background" is added later where the screen was. The choice of color depends on the subject and specific technique used. Blue is normally used for people because human skin has very little blue color to it. Green is used because digital cameras retain more detail in the green color channel and it requires less light. Others include magenta red and orange. Magenta screens are often used with model photography where the model contains both blue and green components. Some examples include: The Matrix (magenta), Apollo 13 (orange) and Air Force One & Predator (red).

Question: What is the crazy church or religion that Borat goes to where people are running around the hall and talking in a strange language? What language are they talking in and why do they look so agressive? What's with all the running around with hands in the air?
Chosen answer: This was the Mississippi United Pentecostal Church annual camp meeting of 2006. "The power of Jesus" compels many people to sing, dance, etc...as far as the weird language, it's known as "speaking in tongues" and is generally incoherent to the casual observer. The hands in the air is a symbol of someone literally "lifting" themselves and their hearts to Jesus in worship and prayer. It's all simply an expression of their faith and religious beliefs, nothing more.

Does anyone know which movie the line "to making it count" appears? All I can remember is people are making a toast in a bar I believe.
Answer: This was Leonardo DiCaprio's character Jack making a toast - in the first-class dinner scene from the movie "Titanic" - this toast follows a short speech he gives on how he goes about living his life, which to his surprise, intrigues many of the people at the table, who join him in his toast "to making it count".

Back to the Future (1985)
Question: I heard that at one point during the part where Marty's being sent back to the future, Doctor Brown is seen putting the letter from Marty in his pocket. Is this true?
Chosen answer: In the scene where Doc tears it up, he stuffs the pieces into his jacket, because he is distracted by the tree limb that falls and "unplugs" the cable from the Clock Tower. He was likely going to throw the pieces away, but did not have time. We are then led to realize that when Doc got home after Marty left, he found the pieces in his pocket and became curious, thus taping it back together and following Marty's instructions in 1985. On a side note, since Marty comes back to that spot at the end of BTTF 2 to get Doc's help to go back to 1885, Doc had even more time to spend with Marty in 1955, and even more reason to become curious as to the contents of Marty's letter.

General questions
I'm looking for the name of a movie with a man called Ernie. It's a comedy and Ernie is gonna defeat some kind of monster. He gets a clue on how to defeat it and I think the clue is mlk, but he doesn't understand that it's supposed to be milk. I also have a little memory saying that the monster thought that Ernie was his mom or something in the end (after he got the milk) but I might be wrong on that. The movie is probably from late 80's or 90's.
Answer: The is "Ernest Scared Stupid" - he actually thinks the clue is MIAK instead of MILK.

I am looking for a movie I watched in the 80's or 90's. It was about a group of children and maybe a teacher, getting kidnapped by a group of men. It was well-planned and I think they may have been housed underground. They were given mattresses and water, and I vaguely remember pig masks but I could be adding that from some other movie. Can anyone help me with this?
Answer: This sounds a lot like the movie "Fortress", with Rachel Ward as the teacher kidnapped along with the children.

I am trying to find out the name of the movie that had the following scene: a man is flipping a toothpick over and over in his mouth. It gets stuck, holding his mouth open, and he gags/coughs and takes it out. I think he was trying to be cool or intimidating as he flipped it so it was amusing when he got it stuck. I am guessing it was some time in the early 90's.

Question: Does Sodium Pentothal really erase memories of events that happened during and after you take it?
Chosen answer: It doesn't exactly erase your memories, rather it causes a form of apnea and drowsiness, causing you to be semi-concious or not fully awake, similar to blacking out. This causes you to not remember events that took place during your dosage and during the course of time it is in your bloodstream. Since it puts you in a physical and mental state where the easiest things to do are all you can manage the mental strength to do, it is used as a truth serum, since lying is much more complicated than telling the truth. Because of these properties the drug possesses, higher doses can also be used for Euthanasia, Medical Induced Comas, and even Lethal Injections.

Question: There's an all black band playing at an all white school in the 50's - is that likely?
Chosen answer: Why not? Even though segregation was in effect, we never see them do anything but play on the stage. They even take their break outside, away from all the white folks at the dance. They are never shown using any of the "white" facilities, or fraternizing with any of the students. In fact, when they are "on break" at their car, it is behind the building, where there are no other cars, or even any people, anywhere around at all.

Question: Did they ever say what caused the plane to crash?
Answer: The did not mention it in the film, but here is a short explanation of what happened. The plane was on final approach, less than 6000 feet from the runway, and the weather was rainy and foggy. The tower communicated to the pilots that landing would be more difficult due to the weather and poor visibilty, but not impossible. The pilots couldn't see very well, and the plane collided with the tops of trees on a hillside located on the west side of the runway. The plane "inverted" and crashed almost upside down into the ground, creating a huge ball of fire and intense heat. The exact cause of the crash was never fully determined by the National Transportation Safety Board, although it was believed that the cause was due to "adverse operating conditions" and descent below "minimum descent altitude." National Lampoon's Vacation (1983)
Question: In all the Vacation movies, the children are played by different actors. What is the reason behind this? Is it simply a joke?
Answer: According to the commentary from "Christmas Vacation" this is an inside joke referencing the fact that Clark is away from home so much with work, he hardly even recognizes them anymore. "European Vacation" could not obtain the same kids who played in the original Vacation, namely Anthony Michael Hall, and tried to cast kids whom looked close. Thus the joke began. No doubt the actors' aging between movies also plays a part.
Answer: Ironically in 2003, Dana Barron (the original Audrey in the first film) returned as Audrey Griswald in "Christmas Vacation 2: Eddie's Island Adventure" although this film did not contain Chevy Chase, Beverly D' Angelo or a Rusty actor (Rusty not in this film).

Superman (1978)
Question: Superman says to Lois in the interview that he never lies. Is the fact that he never lies something he has decided to do or is something that all the people from Krypton have the inability to do? If it is something that the people from Krypton have the inability to do, then how come at the beginning of the movie when Jor-el is telling the Krypton council that the planet is going to explode, no-one believes him?
Answer: Superman has chosen to use his powers on Earth for the good of mankind. It would seem that lying to them would be an unneccessary thing to do, so it appears to be a personal choice. Interesting trivia: the closest he comes to lying is when he tells Lex Luthor to get Zod and company into the molecule chamber in the second film. Listen closely, he only says that it is a molecule chamber that takes away their powers, he never actually says that being inside will make them lose them, only that he wants Luthor to get them to go into it.
That may be the closest "Superman" comes to lying, but Clark Kent does appear to lie. After the mugging scene in the first movie, Clark tells Lois the contents of her purse, and when asked how he knew (obviously from his X-ray vision), he says "wild guess" which was a lie.
Not only that but, he spent his whole life pretending to be ordinary so, in fact, he spent his whole life living a lie.

Question: My friend an I have been having an argument. Whose hand hits the car window in the sex scene?
Answer: Although Leonardo DiCaprio has some femine looking hands for a guy, this is Rose's hand hitting the window and sliding down. Pay attention to the fingernails, and you will notice it is a woman's hand.

Pulp Fiction (1994)
Question: Is there any particular reason Butch looks at Vincent with such hatred when they meet at Marcellus', or is it just because Vince was being rude?
Answer: It is because he is being rude. Butch has never met Vincent before, but Vincent was rude to him anyway. This is also setting up the tension between them for later in the film. Perhaps if Vincent had not been so rude to Butch at the bar, Butch might not have blown him away when he finds him at his apartment later on.
An inner theory is that Vince previously knew about the situation with Marcellus and kind of who he was and that's why he called him a palooka (a fighter who takes a dive) and a punchy. That's why he was so rude and there was so much hostility.

Answer: Ghost Rider's voice was manipulated by sound designer Dane Davis. Davis filtered Cage's line readings through three different kinds of animal growls that were played backwards and covered separate frequencies. Davis then amplified the dialogue through a mechanical volumizer.
