While this happens, Syrus is holding a bowl low to the table and is holding chopsticks pointed forwards. When the shot cuts to Syrus, the bowl is lifted higher off the table and the chopsticks are pointed downwards. (00:00:48)

A couple minutes later, after Atticus says he and Alexis are going to conquer the world, it cuts to Hassleberry saying "Man, bro bro's got some issues", and the two Slifer Red students behind Chazz have disappeared. Other mistake: After Jaden activates Miracle Fusion, he removes Elemental Heroes Flame Wingman and Sparkman from his graveyard (and removes them from play) so that he can summon Shining Flare Wingman. In the shot of the cards coming out of the duel disk, Sparkman is shaded orange. But since Sparkman is not an effect monster, it should be shaded yellow. (00:14:50)

Character mistake: At the start of the episode, Jaden says that he and Syrus have to carry 14 replacement duel disks across campus, which is later revealed to be because Hassleberry beat each of the 14 students in a duel and then stole their duel disk. But during the duel later on, Hassleberry says "I'm beating you the same way I beat my last 12 rivals", instead of the 14 students that were stated earlier. (00:00:09 - 00:15:35)

Revealing mistake: After Bonaparte has introduced Reginald, it cuts to Jaden, Syrus, Alexis and Crowler sitting in the seating area. On the third row are two Slifer Red students. The first is looking at his cards, while the second is looking at the first student's cards as well. Later on, when Reginald has Gilford the Legend attack Chazz, it cuts to Jaden saying "Here we go", and those two students are in the exact same position, looking at the cards. Character mistake: When Jaden has his Elemental Hero Neos and Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab fuse together, he says "Roll call, Flame Scarab, Neos, contact fusion." When he says this, he incorrectly refers to Flare Scarab as Flame Scarab. (00:17:20)

Plot hole: When James leaves the resort after finding his passport, he packs his bags and boards a bus headed for the airport. The bus is then intercepted by Gabi and the gang, and James gets off, leaving his belongings on the bus. The following morning, when he proceeds to leave the resort a second time, he is shown packing his bags in his hotel room, despite having left them on the bus.

Revealing mistake: Right before Chancellor Shepherd briefs the students about the tournament, there is a shot of Obelisk Blue and Ra Yellow students around the outside of the building. Later in the episode, after Zane gives his medal to Blair, the scene cuts to outside Duel Academy, and the exact same shot of the Obelisk Blue and Ra Yellow students has been repeated a second time. Character mistake: When Zane activates the trap card Power Wall, he explains that for every card he sends to the graveyard, Syrus loses 100 points. What he meant to say, was that for every card he sends to the graveyard, the amount of life points he loses during the attack is reduced by 100 points. Since neither Zane nor Syrus lost life points during this, what he said was obviously incorrect. (00:14:47)

Other mistake: When Zane and Aster are talking outside the Duel Academy building, in the shot of Aster saying "I'm just impressed that I beat you on live TV", Zane's deck can be seen inside the duel disk he is wearing.
