Continuity mistake: Because the second one is a painted backdrop, the building across the street from the sheriff's office in the exterior shots looks nothing like the one we can see from inside the office in the next scene.(00:07:00)
Continuity mistake: The rear view mirror on Solo's convertible is there in wide shots, but missing in all the closer shots throughout the Vegas car chase scene.(00:21:00)
Continuity mistake: At the end, Catherine is face down on the floor as the voodoo cultist ties her hands behind her back. When the shot cuts, she's abruptly turned face up.(00:45:30)
Continuity mistake: Diamond takes a full cup of coffee from the vending machine and walks down the corridor with it as he talks to Mark. He takes only three brief sips from the cup before turning to leave. There are no time gaps in the scene, nor is there anywhere for him to have poured the coffee out, yet he tosses an empty cup into the trash on his way out the door.
Factual error: It's stated when Roosevelt arrives to take charge of the unit that he's new to military life. In fact, he was an infantry commander with the NY National Guard in the 1880s, so was no stranger to the military at all.
Visible crew/equipment: Behind West, when he's suspended over the electrical field, you can see the shadow of the boom mike and rigging pole moving on the wall.(00:35:05)
Plot hole: Laura successfully knocks out both bad guys, steals their van and crashes through the warehouse doors. The van doesn't stall, but inexplicably, she stops it, gets out and runs away on foot, even though the baddies are coming to and coming after her. Not the option you'd expect a kidnap victim to choose: most people would floor it and keep on driving.(00:23:40)
Continuity mistake: Steele props up the deceased Kalil and puts a cigarette in the dead man's hand. When the camera angle reverses, the cigarette moves to a different position: first it's between fingers two and three, then it's between three and four.(00:25:45)
Visible crew/equipment: When the Eccentrics outline their nefarious plan to assassinate Juarez, the boom mike shadow is moving on the door behind West and Gordon.(00:28:30)
Revealing mistake: Tony throws two knives at West - but on the wall where the knives hit, the rectangular openings from which the blades actually emerge are delineated beforehand. Happens again a few scenes later, where slots cut in the door are already there before the knives are thrown. [Spoiler: It's inconsequential to the "revealing" error, but if you play the scene in slow motion, you can see that both times, the knives pop through from the back of the "wall." This is also how the carnival trick is performed.](00:17:05)
Visible crew/equipment: West walks through the gate into the amusement park and twice passes very visible truck tire treadmarks in the dirt street.(00:09:30)
Continuity mistake: The windshield of Morey's car shatters when they storm Considine's gate. The glass is spidered and sagging, but all there - until a few shots later, when suddenly more than two-thirds of the windshield is missing altogether. No one had time to knock the glass out.(00:44:45 - 00:46:10)
Factual error: Jeweler Albert Harrad calls Laura from his desk phone, but only punches six buttons before getting hold of her office. All U.S. phone numbers have seven digits: six wouldn't have connected him to anything.(00:37:30)
Revealing mistake: The $100 bills Diamond picks up from the table are very obviously not real. The stage money's rather frilly design pattern looks vaguely like some currency from the 19th Century, but it doesn't resemble anything in circulation in the 1950s.(00:06:30)
Trivia: According to Peter O'Toole, he and Omar Sharif were so nervous about possibly falling off the galloping camels that they both got roaring drunk the day the scene was to be shot, and Sharif decided to tie himself onto the animal. After racing down a sand dune on camelback, O'Toole turned to find Sharif's camel standing in a pond with its alcohol-anesthetized rider dangling upside-down by one foot. A crew member proceeded to "sober" Sharif by cutting the bindings and allowing him to fall head first into the water. (As told to Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" March 24, 2008).
Continuity mistake: During the "Best Murder" game, Laura drains her brandy glass. A few shots later, without benefit of refill, her glass has regained at least two "fingers" of brandy again.(00:11:30)
Continuity mistake: Sarota the hellion leaps through the window, and all the glass breaks out. The shot changes to an inside view, and two large portions of window glass now remain in the frame.(00:09:00)
Continuity mistake: When Catherine first approaches, Father is sitting on the cot leaning against the bars at the very front of the cell. In the next shot, as she walks past him, he is abruptly sitting on the other end of the bed, several feet away.(00:31:00)
