Continuity mistake: During his duel with Philippe, Escargot's sword falls and slides across the floor to the wall. But in the very next shot, he bends over to try and pick it up, and the sword has moved itself to a spot just below his feet. (01:22:00)

Monk (2002)

Happy Birthday, Mr. Monk - S8-E9

Continuity mistake: When Monk pulls all his drapes shut, there's a wide gap in the right hand set that's letting at least five inches of bright sunlight through. No one has touched them again, but when Natalie goes to open the drapes a few moments later, the gap has completely closed itself. (00:16:00)

Mr. Monk is Someone Else - S8-E4

Continuity mistake: After the FBI agent asks Monk to go undercover, Stottlemeyer puts his hands on Monk's and Natalie's shoulders and starts escorting them to the door. When the shot cuts to a wider angle, he does this over again. (00:06:05)

Monk (2002)

Loud as a Whisper - S2-E5

Trivia: Closed captioning, in its infancy in the 80s, often dropped words and letters by accident. In the original broadcast of this episode, the captioning of Riva's line, "We could dine together," lost an N, resulting in a rather bizarre exchange. Riva: We could die together. Troi: I'd like that.

The Fugitive (1963)

Trivia: This was the first US TV series ever to resolve its story line and air a definitive ending, despite network objections that doing so could harm its syndication revenue. The 2-hour finale, "The Judgment," garnered the highest TV ratings ever up to that time, a record it held for many years afterward.

The Fugitive (1963)

Show generally

Factual error: The train transporting Kimble to the death house in the very first scene is a modern American train, but the cars during the derailing appear to be from the 1800's, then the wrecked cars have French writing describing the rail line.

Trivia: The correct Russian spelling of Illya's name should be "Ilya," with only one L. But series creator Sam Rolfe chose the name as an homage to Illya, the Greek character in Never on Sunday, and retained the Greek spelling. "Kuryakin" came from the Greek word for Sunday, "Kyriaki."

Mr. Monk's Favorite Show - S8-E1

Revealing mistake: The car that explodes isn't sitting in a striped parking lot space. In fact, it's very obviously parked out in the middle of the lot's traffic lane, well away from any other vehicles, precisely because the special effects crew are about to blow it up.

The Clock Struck Twelve - S5-E12

Character mistake: After distracting the guards, Danno tosses a grappling hook onto a ledge and climbs the side of the building. He then goes about his business, carelessly leaving the hook and rope dangling from the ledge for all to see. For a seasoned 5-0 team member, that's pretty sloppy covert operations. (00:22:40)

The Clock Struck Twelve - S5-E12

Plot hole: As a security test, McGarrett secretly has several dummy bombs planted in the court building, then later shows the governor where they are. Each time he pulls one of the devices from its hiding place, citizens in the courthouse stroll casually by without so much as glancing at the loudly-ticking "bomb." No one knew about the test, so McGarrett's bombs should be attracting some attention, if not causing outright panic. (00:05:00)

Mr. Monk Makes the Playoffs - S7-E13

Continuity mistake: Just where was that evidence locker? Randy borrows a big screen TV from the evidence room and pushes it upstairs toward the ground floor office, indicating the evidence locker is in the basement. But when Natalie arrives and walks through the office, she goes up the stairs instead of down to find Randy with the TV wedged in the stairwell, indicating the evidence room is on the upper floor. The TV wedged itself tight on his way up the stairs, so he hasn't moved it in the meantime: he's in exactly the same spot with the same picture on the wall. (00:40:30)
