UFO (1970)

Computer Affair - S1-E21

Revealing mistake: In the interior shots of Mobile 1's cockpit, we see that there's a crew of 3 and that the pilot is black. But in shots of the exterior (miniature model stock footage), there's only one occupant, a pilot, and it's a doll with distinctively Caucasian features. (00:26:30)

Monk (2002)

Mr. Monk Goes to a Rock Concert - S5-E8

Continuity mistake: When Kris Kedder is on stage performing "Peggy's Gone to Memphis," notice that his 12-string guitar keeps changing positions between shots. In most of the long shots, he's holding and playing it. In most of the closer angles, it's hanging at his side and he's holding the microphone instead. (00:30:15)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Blake - S4-E13

Revealing mistake: Avon & Co. are supposedly racing through the woods and cloudy skies of Gauda Prime in a flyer. But the reflections on the vehicle's windscreen never move. (00:38:45)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Blake - S4-E13

Plot hole: Before Scorpio even sets course for Gauda Prime, everyone but Tarrant is already wearing a teleport bracelet. How'd they know in advance that they'd need the bracelets at all, and that Tarrant wouldn't because he'd be going down with the ship? (00:13:35)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Blake - S4-E13

Revealing mistake: When Scorpio flies from its launch bay cut in the Xenon cliff face, it's broad daylight (and no, the planet does not have twin suns) - but the ship casts a shadow on the cliff above itself. There's no possible light source from that angle other than studio lights on the ship model. (00:01:20)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Warlord - S4-E12

Plot hole: Ordered to kill him, the Federation squadron stakes Avon down - on a sand dune. Naturally, he has no trouble pulling loose and clobbering them all. This is hardly just a "character choice": it's a plot hole the size of Tuskeegee. A trained military unit (which they were) would never be so stupid. They could simply have shot him with no difficulty whatsoever. (00:33:30)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Blake - S4-E13

Revealing mistake: Scorpio is attacked upon entering Gauda Prime's atmosphere. The ship lurches left: everyone leans left and hangs on. The ship lurches right: everyone leans right and hangs on. The ship rolls over a full 360 degrees: no one leans or hangs on, nor do they fall out of their unbelted flight chairs. And oddly, those same chairs that held fast here tip over with ease later, when Avon escapes with Orac. (00:13:45 - 00:16:15)

Star Trek (1966)

All Our Yesterdays - S3-E23

Plot hole: The law officer who arrests Kirk recalls hearing Kirk call the "spirit" Bones. But he wasn't there when Kirk spoke to McCoy. He rushed into the scene several minutes later. If he's lying, how would he know that Kirk used the name Bones? He wasn't there to hear it. Even if he had been, Kirk did not refer to McCoy as Bones in that conversation. (00:10:50 - 00:19:50)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Warlord - S4-E12

Plot hole: When the warlords lift their glasses in a toast, the same mysterious blue electrical arcs, which later appear and kill everyone in the freight bay, spark and sizzle around their hands. But for some strange reason, no one seems to find this at all peculiar. (00:11:15)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Warlord - S4-E12

Revealing mistake: A shot of Scorpio en route to Betafarl falls victim to a special effects problem. The camera shooting the model was apparently bumped and shaken, so the ship is suddenly wobbling so badly it's a wonder it can keep a straight course. (00:22:20)

Star Trek (1966)

Devil in the Dark - S1-E26

Revealing mistake: The Horta's round tunnels have perfectly even striations and are obviously factory-manufactured tubes. Acid secreted by an elliptical creature burning through solid rock would not create a perfect circle. The Horta is visibly not chewing, sculpting or smoothing the sides. No acid burning method would leave patterned stripes on the walls, either. (00:18:15)

UFO (1970)

The Responsibility Seat - S1-E25

Factual error: Moon Base is imperiled by a rogue Russian mining trawler said to be heading "straight for it." But several shots of the vehicle show it veering wildly in very wide arcs, moving far too erratically to determine that it's on a collision course. (00:38:00)

Sapphire & Steel (1979)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: "Railway Station" (Adventure 2, Part 3): Steel orders Tulley to light all of the abandoned station's lamps with matches. But after the lamps are lit, they give off a steady illumination and don't flicker. It's obvious that they all have electric bulbs in them. (00:11:00 - 00:15:00)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Gold - S4-E10

Continuity mistake: When Dayna and Tarrant find Keeler unconscious, Tarrant's teleport bracelet disappears between shots. It's back a few shots later, though. (00:15:40 - 00:16:10)

The Deadly Goddess Affair - S2-E17

Continuity mistake: At the end, Solo and Illya are sitting at a small bistro table as the captured bad guys are marched past them. Solo wears a green fez, and between shots, Illya suddenly acquires a red one. It wasn't in his hands or on the table before that: it just seems to appear on his head out of nowhere. (00:48:35)

Orbit - S4-E11

Revealing mistake: Scorpio is in stationary orbit over the planet Malodaar - but a shaky special effects matte causes the "stationary" ship to wiggle and wobble severely. (00:00:45)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Orbit - S4-E11

Factual error: Maybe they took time in the midst of a desperate escape to tack Orac down with Velcro? When the shuttle first takes off, its angle of ascent causes Orac to nearly slide off the control panel. A short time later, the angle is far steeper, but this time Orac stays perfectly still.
