Factual error: Pearl Harbor is said to be 280 miles away from the USS Nimitz. An F8 Crusader on a recon mission to the harbor reports unusual shipping traffic, and that he will make another pass for a close-up series of photos. The CAG then immediately states the F8's ETA (estimated time of arrival) back to Nimitz is 12 minutes. At its maximum speed of 1,225mph, it will need to skip the second pass entirely to have any hope of returning in 12 minutes. (00:23:55 - 00:27:25)

Continuity mistake: As the helicopter lands on the USS Nimitz, there is no number on the nose. But as Lasky disembarks, the number "3" appears. (00:06:25)

Music Within (2007)

Factual error: When Art buys a soda, a close-up reveals the quarter he uses is not a pre-1998 US Quarter (George Washington bust on the front, eagle on the back), nor the 1976 Bicentennial version, but appears to be one of the 50-states series of 1998-2008 quarters, most likely Oregon (which happens to be the state where the filming was done). Revealing mistake: When the Zeros destroy the yacht, mooring lines can be seen holding the boat in place as it explodes. Obviously, it isn't actually at sea, but is very near shore. (00:45:35)

The Final Countdown mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Lasky heads toward the conning tower, an A-7 Corsair is shown at left (and the helicopter nose has a number "3" on it). As he is led inside the tower, the camera pans up, and now the Corsair is gone, replaced by an E-2 Hawkeye (and the number "3" on the heli is gone, too). (00:06:45)

Plot hole: While still unsure where and when they are, the Nimitz has two F-14 Tomcats aloft, investigating a pair of low-altitude radar contacts. They determine the planes are WWII-vintage Japanese Zeros in full military livery. The Tomcats are told to shadow the Zeros without engaging them. Then, the Captain, the XO, the CAG and Lasky all go to a formal dining room and sit down to tea. In this scene, they talk about many other 1941-era things that are happening, but nobody mentions the Zeros. That fact, and that they left their Tomcats where they did, suggests this scene was meant to be in an earlier part of the film (when things seemed odd, but no imminent threat existed) and got moved here, creating a plot hole that the USS Nimitz could slide through sideways. US Navy nuclear carrier command staff wouldn't simply go have tea under the current conditions. (00:40:30)

Music Within (2007)

Factual error: When Richard asks Art his opinion of his book, a copy of "Haymarket Scrapbook" is on a shelf. This book was first published in 1986, yet Richard's book will be published in 1981. (01:03:00)

The Final Countdown mistake picture

Continuity mistake: A helicopter ferries Lasky to the Nimitz, but as it takes off, it is marked as unit 9010, but in flight after passing the Arizona Memorial, it is unit 9717. (00:03:30 - 00:04:30)

Continuity mistake: At the Hindi boy's funeral, a man is first seen standing next to the boy's feet. The shot changes and he is instantly at the bottom of the boy's feet as he begins to chant. The shot changes again and he's back at the side of the boy's feet, still chanting. (01:02:15)

Continuity mistake: After Peter says "I'm gonna hold this in for a while", the shot changes and instantly his kerchief is much lower, covering his eyebrows completely where they were fully exposed before. (00:37:20)

Continuity mistake: Jack looks back over his shoulder. Beyond him we see people at the end of the dining car - none in bright green jackets. The shot changes and now we see several men and a young woman standing at the end of the dining car, and one of the men is the steward that punched their tickets earlier (bright green jacket, long black beard and turban). The shot changes to Jack, still looking back over his shoulder, and he says "I want that stewardess". In this shot, ahead of him (at the right of the shot) we see the very same steward that should be talking to the woman at the other end of the car. The angle now reverses to show Jack from the front and in the background, the green-jacket man has vanished. (00:11:00)

The Painted Veil (2006)

Continuity mistake: As Edward Norton rises and walks away, the child that is in Naomi Watts' arms is lying on his side. The angle then changes and instantly the child is lying face up. The moment is continuous as Norton is still there, moving away. (01:47:20)

Continuity mistake: Francis' bandages change from shot to shot. Example: When they first leave their compartment on the train to go get a drink, they make their way along an aisle. When Francis says "I want you both to know it", the blue pad is visible over his right ear, but the shot changes as he turns around to say "I love you, Peter." and the blue pad is completely hidden under the white vertical bandage. (00:05:35)

Continuity mistake: An Indian man sitting next to Francis holds a newspaper up. It is wide open, and the pages face almost straight across the table toward Jack. Francis asks "Have you heard anything from Mom?" and the shot changes. Instantly the man has turned himself and the paper, so that now the paper is less open and its fold now points more toward Peter. (00:08:20)

Factual error: When Bob Ford opens the box under the bed, on top is an issue of "The Jesse James Stories" weekly, which was published from 1901-1903 - fully twenty years after the events of this film. (00:36:10)

The West Wing (1999)

NSF Thurmont - S6-E1

Deliberate mistake: While a nice approximation, the helicopter used as 'Marine One' is significantly different (and much smaller) than the real ones used by the real White House (http://www.minihelicopter.net/Marine1/MarineOne.jpg). (00:38:10)

The West Wing (1999)

NSF Thurmont - S6-E1

Continuity mistake: Leo enters the situation room and is told the "planes are on the deck". He watches a video feed as a plane is launched from the USS Lincoln. The S3-B Viking is seen approaching one camera (single vertical tail fin, wing-mounted engines), then from another angle, we see an F-14 Tomcat lifting off (dual tails and fuselage-mounted engines) and moving away from camera. This is supposed to be live video, and it isn't possible two different jets are launching from the same carrier at the same exact moment, so it can only be a bad choice of stock footage by the show's makers. The Supremes - S5-E17

Plot hole: As Josh arrives at the security gate of the White House, protestors are gathered, chanting and otherwise talking loudly. He enters the gate, makes his way to the north entrance of the West Wing, and as he enters the lobby, the crowd is still heard quite plainly, just as loudly as at the gate, as if they were right outside the door, yet the protestors are much too far away to be heard so loudly, if at all. Gaza - S5-E21

Other mistake: As Donna and the photo-journalist are about to leave the checkpoint, they each shake the soldier's hand. Just before the journalist passes in front of the soldier, the soldier goofs and looks directly into the camera, then catches himself and instantly tries for a 'thoughtful gaze' at the ground. Lethal Weapon 2 (1989)

Lethal Weapon 2 mistake picture

Plot hole: The hitman in the tow truck leans into the rear/left corner of the cab as the surfboard approaches. The board hits the glass at the very top, dead center. Hence, it definitely misses him completely, yet the hitman is killed. Windshields don't break into "shards" (which is another mistake made listed here, and as it can't exist, it can't be the cause of death) and the roof is not damaged. He is the driver, and he stops the truck by braking. There is no vehicle collision. It is clear to all viewers that the makers intended the surfboard to be the cause of death - nobody watching the film thought otherwise.
