Continuity mistake: At the end of the tow truck chase, an HK appears overhead, turns and fires at a completely empty portion of the bridge's road surface (tho Honda Element is between the truck and explosion in the left lane). Yet when we see it from within the truck, the explosion is shown to be of a car of some kind.and the Honda has vanished. Then, as the truck spins-out and comes to a stop, the external view shows that Honda is back and undamaged. (00:43:10)

Continuity mistake: As the tow trucks crosses the bridge at the end of the chase, it passes three cars (one is overturned) to the truck's right that will act as a ramp for the bike in a moment. Then, as the truck spins to a stop, a shot from beneath the truck looking rearward shows the three cars it has already passed are not there behind it. Yet the very next distant shot shows the cars are back in place in time to send the bike into the air. (00:43:00)

Patton (1970)

Continuity mistake: When the two Jeeps arrive at the Kasserine Pass to survey the results of the battle, the second Jeep comes to stop just short of running over a dead soldier. At the end of the scene, the same Jeep drives away, going forward as if to run over that body, but the body has vanished. (00:10:05 - 00:11:40)

Patton (1970)

Factual error: During the early portions of the film, General Bradley's Jeep is a proper WWII Willys Jeep Model MB (wipers on top of windshield), but the second Jeep that follows Bradley's is a 1950-1952 Model M38 (wipers below windshield) which won't exist until five years after WWII ends. Patton (1970)

Continuity mistake: When the three small boys run up and salute Patton, the middle boy stops with the other two slightly behind him to each side, and is the first to salute. When the camera angle changes to view them from in front, the middle boy is instantly behind the other two, and is the last to salute. (00:26:00)

The X-Files (1993)

Pusher - S3-E17

Continuity mistake: Pusher loads the revolver with one bullet, leaving five chambers empty. When Mulder picks it up and points it at Pusher, the bullet can be seen in the cylinder, just to the right of the gun barrel. Later, when Mulder begins to slowly pull the trigger for the third time (aiming at Scully), we see the cylinder turn to Mulder's left. Problem is, with the bullet situated as it was when Mulder picked it up, the bullet would have moved to the barrel and been fired the first time he pulled the trigger, killing Pusher. Instead, it fires on the third pull.

Blood - S2-E3

Revealing mistake: When the sheet is pulled back from Mrs. McRoberts' body at the morgue, her eyelids flutter significantly despite being dead. (00:18:30)

Visible crew/equipment: In both EVA scenes, first when Dave retrieves the AE-35 Unit, and when Frank goes to re-install it, there are shots of Discovery in the background, the pod in the foreground and the astronaut floating between. And in both of these shots, the pod rotates 180 degrees. In the front window of the pod, we can see reflected images of the film set and equipment as the pod rotates.

2010 (1984)

Continuity mistake: All the monitors aboard Discovery-1 are standard CRT screens of 1980s vintage (curved face), yet in "2001", they were all flat screens. and there's been no upgrading between the events of the two films.

Continuity mistake: When Bowman attempts to rescue Poole, he enters "C-pod" which, from HAL's vantage point, is the right-most pod. But when we see a close-up of the pod's door closing, we see it is located on the center pod platform, meaning this is B-pod, not C-pod - yet B-pod is the one Poole was using and it is tumbling away in space at this time. We can also see, just barely, that all three pods are present in this same shot. (01:32:45)

2010 (1984)

Continuity mistake: In "2001", the platforms that the pods sit on have a rotating circular surface that is grated with square holes, looking much like a gigantic satin-black waffle. In "2010" these discs are solid and gloss black - no grating whatsoever. (01:24:50)

Continuity mistake: As Bowman enters B-pod to retrieve the AE-35 Unit, he lifts his left foot into the pod first. But as Poole is watching him do so on a monitor, Bowman lifts his right foot into the pod first. (01:12:45)

Continuity mistake: In several scenes, we are given HAL's visual perspective as if seeing through his lens. This is done with an overlayed image of the lens on whatever area is in sight of the lens. As Dave is entering HAL's memory circuit room (red lighting), one shot again suggests we are again seeing what HAL sees, but there is no HAL lens located and oriented to provide the angle we see. A lens would need to be mounted on the narrow wall directly opposite the circular doorway, yet HAL's lens in this room is mounted on the 'ceiling'. (01:51:25)

Continuity mistake: After the car accident, a man in a black hat and coat runs up to the left-side rear window of Patton's car, taps on the glass, then peers into the car. The camera angle changes to show the Jeep arriving and we see the same man in black arrive again to repeat all the same moves exactly. (01:13:30)

2010 (1984)

Factual error: The filmmakers here forgot how a centrifuge works to mimic the effects of gravity. It is centripetal force wherein an object is pulled away from the center of rotation (you feel its effect on a merry-go-round when it spins really fast and you are tossed off by the centripetal forces). No gravity is actually created. So when the two astronauts are walking along the outside of Discovery and Curnow announces he is getting heavier, it is impossible. First, he's not within Discovery (and if he were, the force would pull him toward the ends of the ship - correctly depicted later when the men are shown walking on the inside of the pod bay doors). The area they are walking on is dropping away from their feet. Both men should be motionless in space as the ship falls away 'below' their feet, then rotates around and kills them when it clobbers their heads half a rotation later. (00:47:50)

2010 (1984)

Continuity mistake: In "2001", Bowman sneaks aboard Discovery through the emergency airlock. In the airlock's alcove is a spare spacesuit, green in color. He takes and uses the green helmet to cross the decompressed pod bay to access HAL's memory. After disabling HAL, Dave wore his red suit and helmet to leave Discovery for the last time, and would have had no reason to move the green suit before leaving, and no one else is aboard to have done so. In this film, we see the same alcove is entirely empty - the green suit has vanished. (01:41:50)

2010 mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When doctors are discussing the medical condition of Dave Bowman's mother, a close-up of the African-American doctor shows a framed newspaper on the wall behind him. It is the front page and has prominent pictures of Bowman and Poole taken during their mission. In the next, wider shot, we see this wall suddenly has nothing on it - the newspaper and frame have vanished. They return when Bowman's mother sits up in bed. (01:16:45)

2010 (1984)

Factual error: While the Leonov has a centrifugal section to simulate gravity, the ship's bridge is not part of it (evidenced by the stationary views outside its portholes). Yet in various scenes, including the one when Floyd rushes in to discuss his plan to return to Earth sooner with Tanya, gravity seems quite evident. Floyd marches across the compartment onto the raised pilot area's floor, then steps down from it, his foot landing audibly. Tanya's open jacket also hangs down normally as she moves about. Yet when Floyd demonstrates his plan using two pens, they float in mid air. (01:26:50)
