Better Call Saul (2015)

Show generally

Question: I know Bob Odenkirk wore a hairpiece in this series, but does Saul Goodman himself wear one, or is it his natural hair? I seem to recall some episodes of Breaking Bad in which you could see a bald spot in the crown area of Saul's head, so if he is wearing a hairpiece, it seems a little odd that he would have an uncovered bald spot, not to mention the flash-forward segments of this show saw him with quite the thinning head of hair despite not taking too long after Breaking Bad.

Phaneron

Chosen answer: He does a "comb-over", which is a really tacky way of covering a bald patch: letting the hair grow long on one side, then combing it to the other side, over the bald spot. We see him arranging it at the end of S06E09, after the time jump. It's pretty on-brand for Saul. Later, when he becomes Gene, he cuts his hair more "normally" and his baldness is more apparent throughout the scenes in that timeline.

Train of Fools - S3-E10

Trivia: During a run-through, Danielle Fishel sliced open her shin on a piece of metal sticking out of one of the subway train seats. Despite having blood pouring down her leg, she didn't tell anyone and continued with the scene.

The Crow (1994)

Trivia: Stone Temple Pilots originally contributed a song to the film's soundtrack called "Only Dying." Following Brandon Lee's death, the song was pulled from the soundtrack and replaced with the song "Big Empty" instead.

Trivia: An extended version of the film was released to theaters in September 2022. It features 11 additional minutes of footage, including a new post-credits scene that shows Doctor Strange's spell erased Peter Parker from videos with his classmates.

Phaneron

Trivia: Much like how "Weird Al" Yankovic has made a career out of parodying popular songs, this film is a parody of biopics, and is not meant to be seen as an accurate retelling of his life (he never hooked up with Madonna or had a drinking problem, for example).

Who Burned Mr. Brinker's Store?: Part 1 - S1-E6

Other mistake: The arson investigators name Jamal as the main suspect in setting fire to the store, because the security camera caught him sliding something through the front door mail-slot. Any arson expert would immediately know that it wasn't Jamal that started the fire, as the fire's point of origin was in the back of store, and was also entirely contained there, and Jamal was not only nowhere near the back of the store, but was also outside.

Teacher's Bet - S1-E8

Trivia: When Topanga says "I will only answer to the name," and then proceeds to growl, after the laugh track dissipates, you can hear members of the production crew laughing. Apparently this scene was not filmed in front of an audience due to the amount of chaos being filmed, which is why the laughter of the crew is audible. (00:13:30)

Boy Meets World (1993)

Trivia: Stuart Minkus' name was originally Stuart Lempke. They had to change his name on short notice because through the legal process of name clearance, they discovered there was a real person named Stuart Lempke who also happened to be living in Philadelphia, where the show takes place. Rather than getting the man's permission to use his name or risk being sued by him, they opted to change the name.

Ghostwriter (1992)

Trivia: The series was cancelled before the kids were able to learn who Ghostwriter was in his previous life. Producer Kermit Frazier revealed in 2010 that Ghostwriter was a runaway slave during the Civil War who was hunted down and killed while teaching other runaway slaves to read in the woods, and that his soul became trapped in the book that he emerged from Jamal's basement.

Boy Meets World (1993)

Trivia: According to the Pod Meets World podcast, it was thought that one of the reasons that Minkus was dropped from the show after season 1 was because ABC already had a hugely popular nerd character in their TGIF lineup with Steve Urkel, and they didn't want to have an Urkel 2.0. Minkus actor Lee Norris revealed he was in the room when the decision was made, and it was because they were going to age up the child characters closer to their actual ages, and his short stature was problematic.

Home Improvement (1991)

Trivia: Tim Allen has expressed a desire for the show to have a revival. However, instead of consisting of numerous episodes like other sitcom revivals have done, it would be a one-off one or two-hour special. The idea of a movie has also been floated. The opening would see the characters attending Wilson's funeral, as Earl Hindman, who played Wilson, died in 2003. The final season of Allen's other popular sitcom, Last Man Standing, confirmed Wilson's death.
