Even shaving off his beard and cutting his hair short would have gone a long way in making him more unrecognizable.

Plot hole: When Agents Stroud and Rodriguez attempt to arrest Morbius, he evades them by rapidly flying up to the roof from the building's ground floor. Then when Morbius unsuccessfully tries to fly off the roof, Agent Stroud has somehow already made it to the roof to apprehend him, even though Morbius had only been on the roof for a few moments.
