Toy Story 3 (2010)

Continuity mistake: When Mr. Potatohead has a tortilla for a body he has his eyebrows with him, but his eyebrows can't be detachable - there's no hole in his body for them to plug into, and they're not connected to his eyes.

Question: Why doesn't Ron get off the knight on the last move of chess before getting attacked by the queen? Does he have to stay on it?

Joel Sheffield

Chosen answer: Unfortunately, he has to stay on. By the rules of the game, he IS the knight, he's not just riding it, so, when he allows himself to get taken in a sacrifice play, he has to take the consequences.

Fred Claus (2007)

Plot hole: In the scene with the brothers group, the guys don't believe that Fred is Santa Claus's brother (because they don't believe in Santa). But why don't they believe in Santa? Santa leaves gifts for kids on Christmas. If they don't believe in Santa then where do they think the presents came from?

Continuity mistake: When Homer slides down the rope hitting people off it, Barney gets hit and falls to the side. A few seconds later the bomb falls down and Barney is standing up ready to catch it.

Chosen answer: Matt Groening thought very highly of Phil Hartman, (Philip J. Fry on Futurama was named after him as well) and had retired all of Hartman's characters upon his death. He probably thought that bringing them back for the movie just so audience members could have an "A-ha!" moment would have tarnished the memorial.

The Simpsons (1989)

Chosen answer: Uncle Al probably likes his nephew a lot. Wendy's hamburgers were named after the owner's daughter, so why not name a bowling alley after your nephew?

Captain Defenestrator

Question: Dr. Marvin Monroe isn't dead because he appeared in season 15, so why wasn't he in the movie?

Joel Sheffield

Chosen answer: There's no rule saying that every character from a TV show has to appear in the movie. There are plenty of short-lived characters from the show that weren't featured. He just didn't fit into the plot.

Continuity mistake: When Homer is grooming Spider Pig he is in Bart's room and it's on the end of the house because you can see the corner of the house, then he walks out of the room and goes in another room but that room is on the end of the house too, you can tell it's a different room by looking in the background so it doesn't make sense that both rooms are in the same place. Continuity mistake: When Lenny calls Homer about free doughnuts Hans Moleman is in the background (in Lenny's scene) then Homer drives to the lake to dump the pig crap silo and he runs over Hans Moleman, but he was at the doughnut shop so he couldn't have gotten to the lake in time. (00:22:30)

Question: I saw a scene in the movie trailer that showed Mr. Burns in a bath filled with gems, this is obviously a deleted scene, why isn't this scene with the deleted scenes?

Joel Sheffield

Chosen answer: Not all deleted scenes make it into the extras on a movie's DVD, usually because of limitations on disc space.

GameBlade

Trivia: Near the end there's a scene where Homer picks up Marge on the motor bike and in the background you can see Otto and his old girlfriend Becky hugging (these two were about to get married in season 11 but didn't because Otto chose his music instead of Becky).
