Trivia: After Porthos tries to hang himself, Aramis reveals he had already sawn the beam to prevent the hanging. His comment when the barn subsequently collapses, "I'm a genius, not an engineer" was written as a pun in the original French manuscript. (Je suis un génie, pas un ingénieur).

Blown Away (1994)

Deliberate mistake: When Jimmy Dove responds to the bomb in the computer lab at MIT, the camera shows the boyfriend on the floor, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The pistol is lying next to his head and it is a 1911-type .45 automatic with the hammer down, not cocked. When an automatic pistol is fired the slide automatically cocks the hammer as it moves back. This will happen even if there is only a single bullet in the gun. The hammer should be back in a cocked position.

Blown Away (1994)

Continuity mistake: After Max is killed, Jimmy Dove is in the hot tub. As he speaks with his wife he fires one shot into the water, then tosses the gun onto the deck. The Glock is shown with the slide forward and the barrel pointed to the viewer's right. When his wife leaves moments later, without anyone touching the pistol, it is shown with the slide locked to the rear and the barrel pointed to the viewer's left.

Platoon (1986)

Revealing mistake: At the end of the movie when the camp is being overrun, a U.S. soldier is standing to the left of a bunker, with his back to the camera, when he is shot. As he falls backwards he can be seen reaching up with both hands to throw his helmet up and out to simulate the effect of him being thrown backward by the force of the shot.

Blade: Trinity (2004)

Audio problem: When the chief of police arrives at the blood farm he is surprised by Blade and Abigail. He quickly reaches inside his jacket to draw his pistol but Abigail draws her revolver much faster. As she draws there is the unmistakable metallic sound of a revolver being cocked, but when she extends the revolver out in front of her to cover the chief the hammer is down, not cocked. The revolver could be seen in the holster with the hammer down, so she could not have been manually decocking it to make that sound.

Trivia: The "goon" who winds up fighting John Cusack in the school hallway is Benny "The Jet" Urquidez. He is not only a world-class kickboxer but has also been John Cusack's real-life kickboxing coach for many years.

Sniper (1993)

Factual error: In the opening sequence, the range for the shot is confirmed as 650 yards. Moments before the shot, AFTER he had his target centered in his scope, Berenger swings the muzzle of the rifle at least 10 degrees. At 650 yards a change of only a single degree in the angle of the muzzle to the target would mean that the target would have to move 11.34 yards laterally in order for the shot to hit. If Berenger actually had to swing his rifle ten degrees in the span of a second in order to keep his target in view, that would mean the target was sprinting at a speed of 340.32 feet per second, or about 232 miles per hour, and had covered 113.44 yards during that time. Absolutely impossible.

Batman Begins (2005)

Batman Begins mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When Bruce Wayne is heading to the hearing at the courthouse, he checks his revolver to make sure it's loaded. His intent is to execute Joe Chill for killing his parents, so he would need a working gun. But when he opens the cylinder of the revolver to make sure it's loaded, you can see that all of the bullets have had the primer removed (the end of each bullet casing has a hole in it.) This is done to make each round impossible to fire, for safety on the set. (00:22:55)

Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie, Tristen wraps the rope around her neck several times, trapping her long hair between her neck and the rope. In the very next shot her hair is hanging loose on the outside of the rope. There was no time for her to pull her hair out, and even if there was, she was hardly in the right state of mind to worry about her hair being caught.

Trivia: Arnold's buddy from his bodybuilding days, Franco Colombo, appears in many of his films. In this film he appears at the very beginning, as part of the army that attacks Conan's village and kills his parents. He is the advance scout who crouches atop a rock as the rest of the army sweeps by him.
