Star Wars (1977)

Trivia: At one point during production, George Lucas lost his voice; because he was so non-communicative anyway, none of the cast or crew knew about it for a number of days.

Shadows of the Empire

Stupidity: For a woman of Leia's intelligence, her plan to use Black Sun to find out who's trying to kill Luke is flat-out dumb; the Bothans have a spynet that's just as reliable, and much more sympathetic to the Alliance.

Trivia: Rogue One director Gareth Edwards makes a cameo as a Resistance fighter on Crait.

The Faithful - S3-E4

Trivia: James and Winn find a meeting of Coville and his followers to be "a little cult-y." Melissa Benoist plays Rachel Koresh, the wife of cult leader David Koresh, in the miniseries Waco, a dramatization of the Waco siege - the 1993 standoff between the ATF and FBI and Koresh's Branch Davidians that lasted 51 days and resulted in 86 deaths.

Castle (2009)

Probable Cause - S5-E5

Trivia: While trying to prove 3XK framed him for murder, Castle identifies "Joseph Vacher", an alias Tyson used, as a serial killer from 19th century France. Active from 1894 to 1897, Vacher murdered and mutilated at least eleven people, and was often compared to Jack the Ripper.

Trivia: First Star Wars film in which none of the main characters say "I've got a bad feeling about this." Although Rian Johnson has confirmed that the line is beeped by BB-8 early in the movie, after which Poe Dameron tells him not to be so worried about their current mission.

Criminal Minds (2005)

Home - S2-E8

Stupidity: While discussing his arrest with Emily, Seth mentions that he didn't tell the arresting officer that he works for Kirkman. As the White House's liaison to the media, Seth has a high degree of visibility; it would extremely difficult, if not downright impossible, to keep his place of employment concealed from the police for very long in the time between his booking and arraignment and when Kendra bails him out the following day.

The Flash (2014)

Tricksters - S1-E17

Trivia: When Jesse learns a new Trickster is copycatting him, he tells Barry and Joe that when he terrorized Central City, days without casualties were as rare as the Chicago Cubs winning the pennant. A few months after the episode aired, the Cubs made the playoffs, but lost the pennant in a four-game sweep; they won the pennant the following year and went on to win the World Series for the first time since 1908.

Supergirl (2015)

Midvale - S3-E6

Kara: If you're so worried about my driving, why didn't you say anything yesterday?
Alex: Because yesterday, getting into an accident didn't seem like a big deal. Today, I would like to avoid it.
Kara: Progress.

Midvale - S3-E6

Kara: So, J'onn says to head straight back to the DEO, and if we scratch his car, he'll put us in containment.
Alex: Well, you'd better let me drive, then.
Kara: Why? I'm a great driver.
Alex: You almost killed us twice coming up here.
Kara: That possum came from nowhere.

Supergirl (2015)

Midvale - S3-E6

Plot hole: After Kara and Alex are run off the road, Kara is convinced by "Noel Neill", revealed later to be J'onn, to stop using her powers. From context, J'onn had to have been summoned by Eliza, but in 2007, she would still think he's just Hank Henshaw; she doesn't learn he's not, or even that he's a shapeshifter, until 2016, as seen in season 1's "Myriad", well after Kara and Alex have grown up.

Character mistake: When Werner asks Hendley why, as an American, he fights alongside Britain, he mentions that the British burned down the U.S. capital in 1812. While it happened during the War of 1812, the burning of Washington actually occurred in 1814. (00:11:10)

Suggested correction: The question was intended to demonstrate how far out-of-touch Werner was with United States history.

Charles Austin Miller

You misunderstand. Werner's question in and of itself is not the mistake; it's merely a point of contextual reference. The mistake is him giving the incorrect date of a historical event he claims to have read about; it's hard to believe that every book that he might have read on the topic are all wrong, so he must be remembering, and thus repeating it, incorrectly.

Matlock (1986)

The Singer - S7-E5

Character mistake: Near the end, Matlock says that he can prove who killed KC. The burden of proof lies with the prosecution; as a defense attorney, Matlock doesn't have to prove anything.
