Continuity mistake: The whole time Dan is in the bookstore and outside talking to Marie, he is wearing a blue undershirt. However on his way home from the bookstore, he runs a stop sign. When the cop comes up behind him you can see that his undershirt is now grey. When he gets home and walks through the door, his shirt has gone back to blue. So Dan's shirt changes a few times when everything is supposed to be in the same sequence of time and events.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Dan is in the bookstore, he has a jacket on when he walks in. And right before Marie arrives he is still wearing it. As soon as she arrives, the camera pans over to see her. Then it pans right back to Dan and his coat is gone. The coat does not show up again until the next scene when they go outside to talk and eat the muffin together.

Continuity mistake: In the early part of Fred Claus, Fred throws an apple at the back of Nick's head. You see all the chunks of apple all over Nick's hood and back. However when they pan over again from Fred's point of view, there is no sign of apple anywhere, not on his hood, head or back. There isn't even any on the pillow that he is sitting on or the floor around him. It just vanished.

Revealing mistake: Towards the end of the movie when Burnett is by the plane's ejection seat, you see a puddle of water by him with snow flakes floating on top of the water. Snow flakes dissolve in water as soon as they hit. They use a corn starch type mixture to make fake snow, and that is what you are seeing in this scene.

Continuity mistake: When Esther is in her room and you are seeing that she is not a little girl but in fact an adult, she takes her teeth out. They're the nice teeth covering her bad ones. However when she sets them down, you can see that they are the wrong teeth. She has taken her bad prop teeth out and set them down, when it should have been the nice ones. You can see right before she takes them out that her teeth look nice. When she sets them down they are the bad set.

Continuity mistake: In the early part of the movie, the first time Kate goes to the bathroom to take a pill, the door on the medicine chest changes. The bottle with the eye dropper lid is visible when it is first opened. Then it is almost totally covered in the very next shot.

Character mistake: They are hooking up Brad's father's satellite dish and he falls pulling the TV up to the roof. The cable is connected to the TV. The problem is all dish systems have a box that goes with them. The cable goes from the satellite to the box, then to the TV - not directly to the TV set.

Continuity mistake: During the dinner, when the whole family is sitting down together, the candles on the table change height. They go back and forth from tall to short throughout the whole sequence.

Continuity mistake: When John gets out of his truck on the highway to talk to the cop, his windshield wipers change speed. While he is still inside the truck the wipers move slowly, but they move a lot faster as soon as he steps out of the truck.
