Robocop (1987)

Corrected entry: When the robber is holding up the convenience store and later shooting at Robocop, look at the gun barrel on his gun. It is wobbling the whole time and made out of something soft so Robo can easily bend it. Actually looks kinda silly.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: The barrel is not wobbling. The whole gun is moving around.

Young Guns (1988)

Corrected entry: When Billy is in the Pigpen, he pulls out his gun, points it at the pig and Chavez throws 3 knives at a post near him. When the second and third knife hit the post, they wobble...showing that they are props made of rubber.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: Having thrown several knives into wood, I can tell you, the wobble is the vibration of the knife as its motion is suddenly stopped, how would a rubber knife stick into the wood, if it were not sharp?

Corrected entry: SPOILER ALERT. In Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, Death was able to bring Bill and Ted back to life because their bodies were still fresh and undamaged, and he was able to put their spirits back in. In this film, Bill and Ted, their daughters, Ted's dad and the historical musicians were all vaporized which meant they would have no bodies to return to and would have been stuck in their spirit form when Death returned them to earth. But for no explainable reason, they all come back in human form.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: The bodies were not a factor in their resurrection. The Reaper was also able to resurrect Station, who were a pair of aliens who had no bodies on Earth.

Vader47000

Corrected entry: When Charlie is being pursued by Rose on the rooftop, at one point they both fall down near each other and Rose drops her axe. Charlie could have easily picked up the axe and defused the whole situation...but instead he gets up and just keeps running.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: If he was calm and thinking, yes. But in this case he was running for his life. People frequently make mistakes and miss opportunities when they're terrified.

It's still a stupidity. Especially considering he just put himself at further risk.

Gavin Jackson

People not behaving as you would, or even making stupid mistakes, doesn't qualify as a "stupidity" entry. Stupidity enters are basically minor plot holes. Just because Rose drops the axe doesn't mean Charlie would have gotten to it first or been able to defuse the situation just by having it. It's perfectly reasonable for him to take the opportunity to run away.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: When Sex Machine is turning into a vampire, he hears a voice in his head saying "Kill them. Kill them." This is most likely a homage to the original Friday the 13th film where the killer Mrs Voorhees hears similar voices saying "Kill mom. Kill mom." Tom Savini who played Sex Machine did the special effects for that film.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: This observation seems like a minor coincidence at best. Sex Machine is literally hearing a mass of voices saying random things, with "Kill them" (a pretty generic phrase heard in many horror films) simply being among them, whereas the sound in the "Friday the 13th" (a shortening of Pamela's repeated phrase "Kill her mommy", shortened to "Ki-ki-ki-ma-ma-ma") isn't literally meant to be something she hears, but more a background ambient sound in the musical score. (And it was done so vaguely done and unintelligible, they later recycled it in every other film as a generic "spooky noise.").

TedStixon

Corrected entry: It makes no sense why the Gecko brothers took the bank teller hostage at the beginning. Their plan was to get across the border into Mexico and to the rendezvous using the Fuller family, and their RV was perfect. But what was their original plan? Were they gonna have the hostage drive their car while they hid in the trunk? She would have given them up immediately. Also let's not forget that her face was on TV news programs which makes her a liability at the border gate. Basically there is no logical reason and all they would have done (if Richie didn't kill her) was create unneeded collateral.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: Criminals behaving illogically don't constitute a plot hole. The fact that Ritchie raped the bank teller may have been his motive for kidnapping her, rather than just killing her right away.

Bishop73

Also, Seth states at some point he does not take hostages (either on leaving Benny's world of liquor or after discovering the teller is dead, I can't remember where he said it) which suggests it was all Ritchie's idea to kidnap her and Seth didn't want, far less plan, to take a hostage, and that he felt it was unnecessary to do so.

The_Iceman

Correction: They had Gloria hostage in case they had a run in with the police.

Superman III (1983)

Corrected entry: In Superman 2 he was able to use frozen breath to stop a trucks fuel tank from exploding. Why didn't he simply blow the factory fire out? He didn't even bother trying. Heck of a lot easier than taking water from a nearby lake.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: The fire was a chemical fire and was occurring in different areas of the plant. If he had used his freeze breath, it might have caused the chemicals to spread increasing the fire plus it would have taken too long to put out each individual fire. Freezing and using water from the lake would be more helpful as he's able to put out the multiple fires simultaneously.

Jurassic World (2015)

Corrected entry: Instead of waiting for Claire to get to the control room and inform them of the Indominus Rex's location, Owen and the guards idiotically walk into the pen to check for themselves. Not only does this lead to the Rex escaping, but would have solved nothing anyway.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: They thought it had escaped because they saw claw marks on the walls, and assumed it would be big enough to be seen if it was anywhere remotely nearby. They had no reason to even consider that it could hide inside the compound with camouflage.

Christine (1983)

Correction: Even if Moochie had successfully climbed over Christine and ran off, that wouldn't have stopped her. She could simply shift into reverse and continue following him.

The Warriors (1979)

Corrected entry: At the beginning when Ajax says to Cleon, "I wouldn't mind busting a few heads", Cleon is wearing a head veil (when seen from the back). But when the camera turns to Cleon to see him respond with something like, "You just keep your head down", the veil is gone.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: The whole entry is wrong, the quotes used, the fact that Cleon is wearing a veil but also when the back of what is supposedly "Cleon" is actually Fox due to the fact that the actor's neck is white, he has curly hair and is wearing a necklace like Fox.

Independence Day (1996)

Corrected entry: After Russell Casse has crashed his plane into the alien's laser weapon and destroyed the ship, General William Grey gives the order to inform all countries to aim for the laser weapon to bring down all the alien spacecraft (which works). The problem here is the Americans were simply lucky that the ship had opened up the hatch and were planning to destroy Area 51, which left it vulnerable to being destroyed. All the other countries would have to fly around in circles and wait for the hatch to open which could have taken days, since they couldn't penetrate the outer armour. In short, it's highly unlikely they would have all fallen at once.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: Its highly unlikely, but not impossible. Nobody says they were all taken out at once anyway. It was a globally coordinated attack and most if not all of the ships were attacked at the same time. Though it would probably take some time for them to open up their primary weapon, they could all be destroyed that way since they were still destroying cities.

lionhead

Not necessarily. They could've still been using the signal to coordinate with the other alien ships like they did when they mounted the first attack.

Biggles (1986)

Corrected entry: In 1986, Jim Ferguson hands William Raymond the film that Biggles took in 1917 and when he and Biggles return the next day the film has been developed and has even had computer enhancement. Given the technology of the mid 80's, I simply find it hard to believe that the film could have been developed that quickly (even today, it would still take longer than one night).

Gavin Jackson

Correction: Minilabs, which can develop film in less than an hour, were available in the late 70's. By the mid-80's many stores offered one-hour photo. The reason it took overnight (or longer) for film to be developed during the 80's was because the processing labs were off-site and the film had to be delivered, processed (with thousands of other orders), then delivered back. So actually developing the film doesn't take a whole day.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: The fact that Van Damme had already defeated the 3 men who were chosen to fight him in the ring means him and the mafia should have been the winners. The fact that some kid jumps in from the audience and beats him should have meant nothing as he wasn't even supposed to be there.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: When Ivan is introduced the guy says "your three fighters, or anyone else who has the balls to get into the ring," therefore Jason beating him means Seattle wins.

Licence to Kill (1989)

Corrected entry: When Q gives Bond the camera gun and scans in his palm print, the "gadget" Q is using is nothing more than a cheap calculator.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: He's giving Bond a camera gun and exploding toothpaste; why wouldn't the scanner for the gun look like something else innocuous?

Iron Eagle (1986)

Correction: The Air Force (and any military branch) has jurisdiction over crimes committed by any person, including civilians, covered by military law when the crime was committed.

Lethal Weapon 3 (1992)

Corrected entry: There's no way on earth Riggs and Murtaugh would still be cops in this film after the end of Lethal Weapon 2 where they both threw down their badges and went on a bloodbath, killing men who were protected by the US government. If anything, they would both be serving hard jail time.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: First, the South African government (and the US government along with them) would likely be doing everything they could to sweep the incident under the rug. No one wants the general public to know about the money laundering, drug smuggling, and murder of police officers. Second, Riggs and Murtaugh were charged with protecting the government witness (Leo) and they had to get him. Third, the injuries suffered by Riggs and Murtaugh easily show that they acted in self defense in the exercise of their duties to investigate criminals.

Pete's Dragon (1977)

Corrected entry: On Pete's first day of school, all the fishermen are complaining that there are no fish and it is his fault. Pete says "Elliot will bring them back" and one responds that he is talking dragon again. But none of them knew that the dragon was named Elliot, so how did they know who he meant?

Gavin Jackson

Correction: As I recall there is a whole song and scene where Mickey Rooney and the whole of the town folk sing and taunt Mickey Rooney about the "dragon" in the bar before the school scene. Hence the, "He's talking dragons again," comment. Additionally, when Pete walks into town Elliot causes havoc which he blames on the dragon, which also takes place before the school scene.

A Boy's Best Friend - S6-E7

Corrected entry: The ending of this episode defies all stupidity. The so called "bad guys" are chased by the Dukes as they leave town at the end, caught and locked up. But what was their crime? Retrieving their own dog? By the logic of this episode, since their dog had now become the property of the orphan boy, the baddies are now thieves cause they stole their own dog back. This would be like the Dukes getting arrested for driving the General Lee. Really idiotic.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: The "bad guys" in this episode were never the dog's owners. They stole the hound from the rightful owners, lost the dog and then Bo and Luke adopted and gave the dog to the orphan. The rightful owners come to Hazzard and retrieve both their dog and the boy.

The Terminator (1984)

Corrected entry: When the terminator is walking out of the burning truck, only its arms and back are burning. But once it hits the ground, all of it is on fire. (01:28:50)

Gavin Jackson

Correction: As the Terminator jumps out of the truck cab, we can see flames on his back and arms; it's difficult to see as he jumps to the ground, but there also appear to be flames on his legs. Regardless; he is jumping into a pool of burning fuel, so it is natural to assume some splashes up on his legs, and lights them up.

The Rookie (1990)

Correction: And yet I can hear "bloopers" from newscasts aired on certain radio programs on satellite radio which repeatedly demonstrate unbleeped expletives being said on regular radio and TV. As long as the station immediately, or after a commercial break, offers an apology, most of the time they are not penalized. I've even heard expletives on live shows like Good Morning America, which they then have to apologize for.
