Continuity mistake: When the divers find the Orca, one diver goes through a door still latched to the frame, in perfect condition. But seconds later the other diver takes a photo of this diver in front of the same door, which is now hanging off it's hinges and is damaged. (00:02:05)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the film when Brody parks his van, the position of the parked van changes. In the first shot his front door is parallel with the front door of the van's next to his. In the next shot, Brody's van is now parked much further back. (00:04:50)

Continuity mistake: When the shark is attacking the catamarans with the teenagers aboard, in one shot you see Andy fall backwards, still on the catamaran, and he is barefoot. Continuity mistake: When Eddie is floating the water, after being knocked out of the boat by the shark, in one shot we see his hair is totally soaked and is flat. But in the next shot it is drier and now curlier. (01:10:30)

Continuity mistake: When Mike and all of his friends are at the bar, Mike has a glass of coke on top of a napkin, sitting in front of him. However in one shot of Mike saying “yeah, sure,” the coke has vanished. Through the same bar scene items on the bar change their positions, move around, appear, etc,. (00:53:40)

Visible crew/equipment: When Larry, Ellen Brody, and a group of others are touring some people around the beach, showing them around, they look up to see Chief Brody in the watch tower, looking out for sharks. In the close-up of Ellen looking up at him, the boom mike bobbing around, is clearly reflected in her sunglasses. (00:41:10)

Continuity mistake: When Terry is water-skiing, her mum is driving the speedboat. The speedboat has the writing "MS 5713 EB" on both of its sides. The sides of the boat are made up of shiplap boarding. In the first half of the skiing scene when we see the side of the speedboat, the writing is printed on the second board down from the top of the boat. However in the second half of the scene, after Terry has been grabbed by the shark, the writing has moved up onto the top board. The condition of the paint of the actual whole boat changes between a few shots too. Sometimes the green paint is totally fresh and new looking, in others it is faded and looks more worn. Continuity mistake: When Brody is in his office, he pours a coffee. Then in one shot you can see the mug on top of the filing cabinet, and the phone rings and Brody walks over and answers it - both hands empty. Yet when he puts the phone down, he picks up the coffee mug from off of the desk, next to the telephone. (00:36:45)

Continuity mistake: When Tina and Eddie stumble upon the huge dead whale on the beach, they are standing upon a large sand dune to the whale's left. However in the next scene where everyone is gathered around and Dr. Elkins measures the bites in the whale, the sand dune has mysteriously vanished. (00:27:00)

Factual error: Whenever we see the shark gliding through the water, we only see the dorsal fin, never the tail fin. Realistically, we should see both fins above the water in at least some shots - especially when the dorsal fin is fully out of the water.

Continuity mistake: After Tina and Eddie have discovered the dead whale on the beach, it fades to an overhead shot of the beach. On the shore there are three sailing boats, one with a white sail, one with a light blue sail, and the other with a dark green sail. Nothing else. Yet in the next close-up of Chief Brody and Dr. Lureen Elkins walking along the beach, an inflatable raft has now appeared on the beach, next to the boat with the dark green sail. (00:27:10)
