Plot hole: When the girls are looking through the old newspapers in the library, Roberta stumbles upon the newspaper's story of her mother's death. But this takes place in 1970; Roberta's mother died when she was four, meaning her death occured in 1962. Yet they were looking for Dear Johnny's death, which happened in 1945. Why would she be looking at 1962 papers? (00:39:15)

Continuity mistake: When Chrissy is giving birth, she wears a shirt which has many watercolour brushstroke patterns printed on it. Through the birth scene these brushstroke patterns on her shirt vary and change between wideshots, closeups, etc. (01:26:30)

Revealing mistake: When Sam trips over in the cemetery, she falls onto Dear Johnny's cracked tombstone. As she pushes down, the 'tombstone' squashes under her hands. (00:27:25)

Continuity mistake: After Sam's dad leaves, Sam gets out of bed, grabs her poncho and shoes and puts a bag over her shoulder. She puts her poncho and shoes out through the curtains twice, and as she climbs through and jumps out of the window, the bag has vanished from her shoulder. (00:21:35)

Audio problem: When Teeny and Sam are on the swings, talking with Chrissy and Roberta, a few lines of Teeny and Sam's dialouge is either out of sync or completely dubbed with/over their lip movements. Also, in one shot Teeny is heard laughing, yet her mouth is closed tight. (00:08:45 - 00:10:15)

Continuity mistake: When the girls are cycling along with the War Veteran, in one shot the Veteran is walking down the middle of the road. In the next shot, he's walking on the grass at the side of the road. (00:42:45)
