Fast X (2023)

Other mistake: Dante and The Agency both have extensive photos and videos of the team's previous exploits. Trouble is that most of it is simply stills and footage from the previous movies in the franchise, often occasions when nobody was around with a camera to witness and document what was going on, certainly not at the angles we see.

Deadpool (2016)

Trivia: Because Ryan Reynolds' face is covered for most of the film, it gave them the opportunity to change some of his dialogue after filming. Reynolds would often think of funny lines, record them on his iPhone, send them to the editors, and if the line worked he'd then record it properly. He's said that some of the iPhone recordings were used directly.

Deadpool 2 (2018)

Trivia: As with the first film, Reynolds' face being covered meant if he thought of funnier lines after filming was wrapped it was comparatively easy to record new ones and replace the originals.

The Night Shift - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: When talking on the roof at the start, the guy in green has his hands in his apron pockets when being told the security cameras are off. Cut to a wider shot and his arms are folded instead.

The Lives of Others - S5-E19

Other mistake: Beckett points out to the murderous security guard that some graffiti magically appears on the tape, showing the live image was replaced with older pre-recorded footage. "Do you see that? It's actually kinda hard to spot." Except the graffiti doesn't appear at the point where the live feed restarts (when the guard enters the shot), it only appears on the footage after a cut away and then back.

Secret's Safe with Me - S5-E3

Stupidity: Castle casually smashes two dolls expecting there to be something hidden inside, but a) he knows they're valuable collectibles which the captain would take serious issue with him smashing, and b) anything inside must have gotten inside somehow non-destructively, so there's no need to smash the dolls, why not get whatever's inside out the same way it got in?

A Dance with Death - S4-E18

Stupidity: The dancing show is appallingly organised - they launch into the opening dance without any of the production crew knowing where one of the two dancers is, leaving everyone mystified when she misses her cue (because she's dead in her dressing room). They wouldn't even have started filming without her being offstage ready to go.

Countdown - S3-E17

Stupidity: Castle and Beckett are trapped in a refrigerated container - they bang against a steel door and shoot it, but never even consider doing anything with the refrigeration coils or vents which are visible, accessible, and what keeps the container cold. Damage them and the space they're trapped in wouldn't be below freezing any more, which is the main danger to them.

Last Call - S3-E10

Continuity mistake: The guy at the door says "I purchased a ton of crap at that place" and the door is partially open next to him. It cuts to a barely different angle as he says "come on in" and the door is instantly wide open. (00:25:25)

Punked - S3-E4

Character mistake: They find the DeLorean and the licence plate is shown: LFM-26W1. Esposito calls in and says the car needs towing: "'81-'82 DeLorean, New York plates, JLD..." Nothing like the actual licence plate.

Bad Beat - S5-E5

Jake: Captain, allow me to introduce you to major East Coast arms dealer Dan "Daniel" Valdano. That's right, his nickname is longer than his actual name. Why's that, Terry?
Terry: 'Cause he's a dick.

Babylon (2022)

Q & A - S4-E15

Stupidity: Harold isn't sure whether to trust the flash drive Claire gives him, worrying connecting it to his laptop will send Samaritan all his personal connections. Somehow it doesn't occur to him to just use a completely disconnected / airgapped laptop, in a Faraday cage or similar like the one he kept Root in. If the flash drive had malicious code on it, nothing could be transmitted anyway.

Root Cause - S1-E13

Factual error: Finch's trojan tracker displays "accessing network on IP 623.173.93 .225.9." Not only is 623 an impossible number for an IP address to have, as they only go up to 255, it's also made up of 5 parts, instead of the 4 which IP addresses are limited to.

General questions

Are there any bloopers available online from VERY serious movies, like Schindler's List or 12 Years a Slave? Actors must slip up when filming them like anything else - is the subject matter just serious enough that they don't laugh about them at the time, making the bloopers nothing worth watching, or are they just never compiled and released because it's felt to be too inappropriate?

Jon Sandys

Chosen answer: From what I've seen, in serious films, or scenes, when actors mess up their lines, they're more apologetic and what they said wasn't funny or outrageous. I feel like serious films have more rehearsal times as well, where comedy films are often shot quickly with a lot of ad-libbing or improv. So there's less slip ups during the actual shoot. Similar to how a play has a lot of rehearsals, but improv shows won't have as much. There's are some outtakes of "Silence of the Lamb." This is something that I've wondered too though and tried to search for. I had a chance to go to a Q&A session with Cary Elwes and wanted to ask him if he had as much fun making "Saw" as "Princess Bride" and "Men in Tights" and were there "Saw" outtakes, but we ran out of time before my question could get asked and I've always regretted it.

Answer: Youtube has plenty. Simply enter "serious movie bloopers." You'll even find some for "The Silence Of The Lambs."

Knives Out (2019)

Trivia: At the end, Benoit Blanc says he noticed the blood on Marta's shoe the first time she stepped in front of him. Rewatching the sequence when they first meet, as he says "I've been doin' a little pokin'" he does indeed look down as he speaks and takes a fraction of a second pause, noticing the blood but continuing to talk as normal.
