The Cannonball Run (1981)

Continuity: When the two Lamborghini ladies are stopped by the police the first time, you first see the lady in the red dress from the front. Her zip is obviously up. In the next shot you see the other race participants raging by. The lady is shown from behind now. When you see her from the front again, the zip is down. Now we can see her from behind, and as we see her from the front again the zip is up again. Then she puts it down again to show the sheriff her driver's licence.

Visible crew/equipment: A stock car carrying Mel Tillis and Terry Bradshaw drove into a hotel swimming pool. If you watch the car as it drives into the pool, you'll see the jump ramp built at the end of the pool.

Other: Towards the beginning of the film JJ (Burt Reynolds) lands his plane in a town to get more beer. You can clearly see the a large crowd of spectators in the background standing behind the wooden barriers which the police had set up for the filming.

When Dom gets back in the airplane after getting beer, Burt is discussing cars with him to use in the race. He says they could use a black Trans-Am. Then he says that it's been done before. It has. Remember that movie called Smokey and the Bandit?

When J.J. is convincing Pamela to stay with them, Victor tells her "...and just think - we have a licensed physician on board in case somebody gets...swamp fever." Victor is played by Dom Deluise who played a doctor in "Smokey and the Bandit 2" who was first seen treating someone for swamp fever.

Script writer Brock Yates (who also has a bit part as the officiator at the beginning of the race) had Steve McQueen in mind when he created the lead role of JJ, but McQueen died right before casting for the movie, so Burt Reynolds was then chosen to be cast in the role of JJ.
