Aragorn: Gentlemen! We do not stop 'til nightfall.

Pippin: But what about breakfast?

Aragorn: You've already had it.

Pippin: We've had one, yes. But what about second breakfast?

[Aragorn stares at him, then walks off.]

Merry: Don't think he knows about second breakfast, Pip.

Pippin: What about elevensies? Luncheon? Afternoon tea? Dinner? Supper? He knows about them, doesn't he?

Merry: I wouldn't count on it.

Seen in the close-up, the short small pink and purple flowers that are located on the ground to the right and left of the front door. Also, the large tall pink flowers growing against the wall to the left of the door seen behind Gandalf in this shot. See more...

Trivia

Arwen and Aragorn are actually related. Arwen's father, Elrond and his brother Elros were half-elven. They were given a choice of whether they would like to become elves and become immortal; or be mortal and become the kings of Men. Elrond chose the elf option, and his brother the mortal one. Elrond had Arwen, while his brother's family tree went on for thousands of years, eventually resulting in Aragorn making Arwen Aragorn's first cousin many-times removed. See more...

Almost all the timecodes are from the Extended edition. Because it's split across two discs this makes timecodes rather tricky, so unless stated, the timecodes are from the beginning of the relevant disc. I know this causes confusion when ordering by time, but it's easier when actually watching them.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring mistakes

Mistake Revealing: After the battle with the cave Troll, Aragorn rushes over to injured Frodo and brushes past some big rocks that wobble, showing that they are lightweight and not real.

Mistake Revealing: When Frodo stops rolling down the snow covered hill, just before the shot of Boromir picking up the Ring, you can see the edge of the stockings that the actors wore to protect their feet since they were walking in real snow for that scene.

Mistake Continuity: When Boromir attacks him, Frodo frantically slips the Ring onto his middle finger (with the chain). Yet, as Frodo runs up the steps of the ruins, Boromir yells, "Frodo, I'm sorry!" and Frodo wears the Ring on his index finger. He is terrified, so as to remain invisible he does not change fingers.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring quotes

Frodo: I am just a hobbit, Gandalf, you are a great wizard. You take the Ring!

Gandalf: [Backing away] No! No! I must not take the Ring. It will work through me, and I will do great evil, thinking I am doing great good.

Gandalf: A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to!

Merry: We're going too! You'd have to send us home tied up in a sack to stop us!

Pippin: Anyways, you need people of intelligence on this type of mission...quest...thing.

Merry: Well that rules you out, Pip.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring easter eggs

Mistake HIDDEN BONUS MATERIAL on the Special Extended DVD Version: There are two secrets on the discs containing the film, one on each disc. Instructions for both: go to the Scene Index on either disc, then scroll down to the LAST scene (either "The Council of Elrond" on Disc 1 or "Official Fan Club Credits" on Disc 2), then scroll down one more time. On the first DVD, a little ring will appear next to the line "new scene." Click Enter. This leads to an introduction by Peter Jackson and the MTV Movie Awards parody on the Council of Elrond (starring Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar), which isn't suitable for children (and does not appear in the UK version because of the BBFC). On the second DVD, scene 48, click on the number 48 - on the right side of the screen - and the silhouettes of Barad Dur and Orthanc appear just underneath, click it. You'll see another introduction by Peter Jackson, and the Two Towers cinematic preview trailer: the one played in theatres after the Fellowship of the Ring, towards the end of its running period.
