What's the name of this movie? It has to be from the 80s/early 90s. Hair/clothing was current with the time. I remember it being about a dad who gets re-married to a woman who is only marrying him for his money but he has no clue. The wedding is outdoor like in a park area. Once she ties the knot she starts secretly changing everything and she does not like the dad's kid (can't remember if it was boy/girl) I think she secretly makes the kid miserable. She redecorates the house and particularly the kid's bedroom in a way that the kid hates tremendously. I think she redecorates using an excessive amount of the color red. In the end, I think the dad/new wife split and possibly the kid spends the night on a park bench.

Answer: Sounds to me like it might be Problem Child 2.

There was a movie I watched sometime in the early to mid 90s. It was about a woman whose friends were being killed one at a time. In the end of the movie she confronts the killer who is another woman. According to the killer, when she was just a child, she had a birthday party at her house but everyone ignored her and paid more attention to the other woman. Angry about this, she was going to burn the woman's hair to get even. Unfortunately, she held the candle behind her and it caused her own hair to catch on fire and also disfigured her at the same time.

Answer: It could be the 1981 horror film Happy Birthday to me...although I don't recall the candle scene you mentioned.

Several years ago I watched a movie about a guy that finds an old war plane loaded with medals and whisky that was under water. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I would like to watch it again. I think of it every time I see the movie Memphis Belle.

Daniel Holloway

I watched this movie years ago so I can't remember all the details, but I believe it took place in the 1800s based upon their clothing. It was about sisters and they had to go multiple funerals which may have been for some of the sisters that died, and when people died that had to wear black for a year.

For about 30 years I've been trying to find out the title of a black and white movie from the 30s - 50s. I fancy it might have starred someone like Jimmy Stewart. It was about a husband (and father) from a well-off community who. I think, gets hit by a train and suffers amnesia. At the end of the film, he inadvertently comes across his old house at around Christmas time, and looks through the window, but is promptly sent on his way, unrecognised by his own family.

There was an animated movie in the 80's or 90's about a small girl being chased by werewolves. If I remember, they want to turn her into a werewolf as well. She is helped by a talking toad and with his help she manages to escape.

Answer: This sounds like "The Talking Parcel", a 1978 animated TV film made by Cosgrove Hall based on a book by Gerald Durrell.

I am looking for a made for television movie that came out years ago. The movie is about a family with 2 young sons. The father favors the youngest son and is cold to the other. One day both boys went for a boat ride. The youngest boy accidentally falls off the boat and starts to drown. The older son tries to save him but he hesitates at first. The young boy drowns. The older son is under suspicion and might go to court. The father blames his older son for what happened. I believe that the mother separates from the father and supports her son and the father doesn't support him. That's the plot does anyone know the name? Thanks.

Answer: This is "Family Sins", a CBS TV movie from 1987.

Looking for a movie in the mid-80's. I remember a vehicle gets dropped in the jungle named H.A.R.V. And in one shoot out a guy is blown out of his shoes by a shotgun behind a counter. I think a girl hired this man and his buddy to find her sister.

My daughter says I watched this film with her. Four lads drinking and visiting clubs, one was quite violent. An overweight guy at a burger joint found a plain girl he liked...a teen boy ran for the train home with his girl.

I'm trying to remember the title of a movie or TV series set in the late 1800s or early 1900s. The girl is travelling in a stagecoach that is either held up or breaks down miles from a town. She tries to carry her trunk all that way, and a guy who is trying to help her tells her that it's too heavy. He ends up having to carry her. A later scene, she tries to light a wood stove and ends up smoking up the whole room and her face, ruining her dress. I think she was a school teacher.

Answer: "Love comes softly" is the title of the movie.

I watched this movie probably late 90s. I was about 8-10 years old when I saw it so the only thing I remember was two boys perhaps camping in their backyard. The boy had a sister whose friend was also sleeping over. The boy's friend was infatuated with the sister's friend, and in the morning the sister's friend was found murdered, either suffocated or strangled. I remember they were in some shed playing strip poker, then everyone went inside - the girl who is the boys sister's friend wants to stay out and sleep there, and then the next morning she was dead.

What is the name of a movie where a young bride, about 18 or maybe younger, is married to a 30 something businessman? The young bride loves to ride her bike most of the movie even inside her house. This movie might be 20 years old or so but can't seem to find the title of it.

Answer: An early 70's movie called Lola. Starring Susan George as the flaky girl and Charles Bronson as the older man.

I'm looking for the title of a not so old movie, that starts with a couple going to rob a road restaurant, sitting inside that restaurant and discussing to do it or not.

Tom Edelweiss

Chosen answer: That's how "Pulp Fiction" begins. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110912/?ref_=nv_sr_1.

Captain Defenestrator

I'm trying to find the name of a movie I watched in the late 70's or early 80's about a man who kills a woman's husband and dog. It takes place outside, maybe wintertime. She cries and says "you killed my husband" and the killer says "I killed your dog too".

I can't remember the title or stars of a movie, maybe 15 years ago or so, about a troubled young girl who goes to work for an older woman's restaurant in a small town. She comes up with idea to raffle off the restaurant to a best essay contest winner. The woman's son is presumed dead in war, but actually still lives, hiding out.

Answer: That would be the 1996 film, "The Spitfire Grill."

There was a movie about a man who woke up to discover that the roles of grown-ups and children have been reversed. All of the adults are treated like children and have to go to school while all of the children behave like adults and even have adult jobs. When he went to tell some cops that his car had been stolen, he is shocked to discover that the cops he is talking to are a couple of kids. He eventually believes that he's in some sort of parallel dimension and tries to escape by jumping through a mirror, but ends up in the hospital. I saw this movie either some time in the late 80's or early 90's.

Answer: The only film I can find that matches this description is Opposite Day from 2009 - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1090674/ - and as far as I can see it's an original movie, not a remake or reboot of something earlier.

Neil Jones

This not the movie. I saw this movie sometime in the mid '80s and the protagonist was a middle-aged man with sandy colored hair.

I have been looking for a Asian fantasy movie (not anime) from the 1990s (I think) its about a vampire/monster (girl with long black hair and who is able to use her fingernails as lasers) and a cop. They fall in love, kinda like Romeo and Juliet but fantasy, there is a lot of rain in the film and cheesy music. There are scenes where the normal people (police squad) are able to summon their powers to fight the monsters and do this in a group in one scene, like some kind of mental power. There is a scene at the end when the lead vampire/monster is riding on a plane trying to crash it into a building. Its name could be something like, Monster Love Story, Police Squad, Police Love Story...I can't remember and I would so love to find this movie. It could be Korean, Japanese but it has English subtitles.

What old horror movie had a big kid riding a big wheel and lived in a basement?

Answer: There are two horror movies with kids riding a big wheel. The Omen (1976) who uses it to knock his mother off a ladder. The other is The Shining (1980), he rides it around a huge winter lodge to do some exploring. There are no basements in either. The Unseen (1980) has a large deformed and demented man child living in the basement.

Does anyone know the title of the horror movie that has the character (I believe she is the antagonist) that has blonde hair up in pigtails and is wearing a school uniform?

Moviebuff98

Chosen answer: I think it's the 1956 movie The Bad Seed.

Can you please tell me the name of an older (80's) movie that was on TV about 2 sisters who lived in a small town. They were poor, and in the end, the older sister married for money, to a short, rich, nerdy hardware store owner who adored her. Near the final scene, she was standing on a bridge saying good bye to her rebellious younger sister. The older sister was tall and had long blonde hair, wore a leather suede fur lined coat, and drove a white SUV. The younger sister had (earlier) had a fight with her boyfriend or husband then got back together with him. He was a poor alcoholic abusive man she loved, and they lived in a shack on the other side of the bridge. The younger sister looked a bit like Princess Stephanie of Monaco and was a known actress, with a shag cut brown hair. The movie might have had Matt Damon in it, or it came out around the same time as the corner store junkie movieā€¦.same type of movie. Thanks!
