Platoon (1986) - 29 mistakes
Directed by Oliver Stone, starring Charlie Sheen, Forest Whitaker, Johnny Depp, Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe (add more)
Continuity: After the final battle at the end of the film, there is a scene where Francis who was in the hole with Taylor during the final battle, stabs himself in his right thigh so that he will be injured for the second time and sent out. In a scene shortly there after we see Francis loaded onto a helicopter and the bandage is on his left thigh and not the right one where he stabbed himself.
Continuity: Just prior to the last battle "King" is informed that he is going home. He places two bandoliers of M-60 machine gun ammo over his right shoulder as he is saying goodbye to Sheen. In the next shot (as he continues to say good bye)the bandoliers have been changed; they are now cris-crossed to the left and right of his neck.
Revealing: During the fight scene in the village between Elias and Barnes, as they roll around on the ground, Barnes "hits" Elias with a right hook and Elias's head is thrown to the side as if he just caught a serious blow. The problem is Barnes's fist quite obviously clears the front of Elias's face by at least 5-6 inches.
Character mistake: When the soldiers are emtying the latrines and the "surfer" guy says he "broke a hundred the other day" and has 92 days left, he states that April 17th is his DEROS (Date Eligible to Return from Overseas). Later we hear Charlie Sheen say that it's "New Years Day." This would have put the "Latrine scene" around January 5th.
Revealing: In the scene after the final battle, where Charlie Sheen is walking up on the crawling figure of Tom Berenger. In the shot of Tom Berenger crawling, you can see two electrical cords with white tape coming from Berenger's left leg as he is crawling, obviously used for the squibs when he is shot by Sheen.
