Directed by John Hughes, starring John Candy, Kevin Bacon, Michael McKean, Steve Martin (add more)
Continuity: At the beginning, when Neil is racing Kevin Bacon for the taxi, he trips over the trunk and falls into the street, nearly being run over by a BMW. The car honks and pulls away. When the shot switches to show Kevin Bacon getting in the taxi, the car that almost hit Neil is now an Oldsmobile.
Character mistake: When Neal and Del are waiting for Owen, they discuss which credit cards they have. Neal says he has a Visa, gasoline card, and a Neiman Marcus card, whereas Del only has a card for a Big n' Tall shop. Neither of them mentions their respective Diner's Club cards, which they each just used the night before to pay for the motel.
Continuity: When Neal and Del are waiting for Owen in the Braidwood parking lot, a couple of the cars change type and position between the overhead shot when Neal says "Just get me to the train station" and when we see Owen's truck pulling up. There was not enough time between shots for any cars to have moved.
Continuity: When Neal is scanning the parking spaces in the rental car lot, the shot switches to Neal's POV and back. When the camera is on Neal, he walks completely past the Mercury Sable in stall V-2, yet when it switches to his POV he's only just beginning to pass the same spot. As he approaches V-3 in the POV shot, the camera switches again and he's now well past it.
