Continuity: After Qui-Gon is struck by Darth Maul's lightsabre, he drops down, and his lightsabre is lying on the floor. In the shot where Maul turns around to face Obi-Wan, the sabre is not lying in the same place as before (seen from the colours of the floor), and the activation button faces upwards, which it didn't do in the previous shot. In the next shot of Qui-Gon, his lightsabre is now closer to him than in the previous shot.

Continuity: During the Podrace, the announcer says, "Skywalker's been forced onto he service ramp," and the people standing behind the gate begin to run away. At the end of the shot, they are still behind the gate, but in the next shot, all of them have moved away from it.

Revealing: When Jar Jar tries to retrieve the wrench that he dropped in the engine of Anakin's podracer, the metal slat above his hand bends like rubber.

Continuity: In the first scene in Watto's shop, a cloth lying on a device on his desk keeps changing position between shots.

Continuity: When Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are fighting battle droids in the Trade Federation ship, Nute Gunray says, "I want droidekas up here at once." As he says this, he turns his head, causing the "straps" hanging from each side of his headgear to hang slightly behind his shoulders. In the next shot from behind, they are hanging in front of his shoulders like they normally do.

Continuity: As someone else has noted, Obi-Wan's braid changes sides a few times in the movie. In the first scene with Jar Jar, his braid stays on the correct side of his head, but after he says, "If they find us, they will crush us" it goes from hanging in front of his shoulder to hanging behind it.

Continuity: When Anakin and Padmé arrive at the Podracer hangar, Anakin is taller in the first shots than in the shot where he gets off the animal they're riding on.

Other: When Amidala is escorted out of her palace by the battle droids, the droid standing on the right side of the steps has no shadow, but all the other droids and people have.

Other: When the Jedi, the Queen and her entourage enter the hangar before they leave Naboo, only four of them are reflected in the shiny starship above them. The others are not.

Continuity: When Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Darth Maul get cut off from each other in the corridor and Qui-Gon kneels down, Obi-Wan is standing in the background with his lightsabre pointed downwards. In the next shot, it's pointing upwards.

Audio problem: When the Viceory and his assistant talk, most of the time their mouths don't match their words.

Continuity: When the gungan submarine exits the water, you can see water flowing on the force field. The shot later, the submarine is completely dry.

Plot hole: Why doesn't Qui-Gon know the Force doesn't work on Watto's race? The fact that Watto knows that Jedi powers won't work on his race means that a Jedi must have tried and failed repeatedly before. Any such vulnerabilities in the Jedi would be common knowledge among them.

Continuity: When Anakin says his last words to his mother, she is closer to the door than in the previous shot.

Continuity: When Darth Maul is fighting with Qui-Gon, only one blade of his lightsaber is on and on the other side there is just a flat end, with no hole. When he fights with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon in the palace, there is now a hole at both ends.

Revealing: When Darth Maul is harassing Obi-Wan as he dangles in the pit, the first swing of Darth Maul's sabre is out of sync with the resultant sparks (very evident in slo-mo).

Continuity: The shadows change angles all over the movie. First the shadows appear right beneath the characters, then in the next clip they are cast with an angle. And the shadows that ships and computer-animated animals cast are different from the "real" characters.

Continuity: When Qui-Gon dies, you see him fall down - his hands clearly hit the ground and rest there after sliding off his body. In the close-up shot, Qui-Gon's right hand does not and rests on his stomach.

Continuity: When the storm is approaching and Anakin offers them a safe haven, as they set off you can see R2D2 in the background and there are no tread tracks leading to him - he's obviously been carried there and set down to wheel away.

Continuity: When Qui-Gon is cleaning Anakin's wound there's no blood on the swab after he wipes the cut.
