Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) - 19 mistakes

Visible crew/equipment: When Pee Wee is chaining up his beloved bike you can see the long chain coming up through the bottom of the bike box.

Continuity: When P.W. is escaping certain trouble  somehow his handle bar comes off (with ribbons) a new one is replaced (without ribbons) - cool bike huh? But in the next scene the new handle has ribbons...

Revealing: When the pancakes are sticking to the ceiling, you can see that when one hits the ceiling, it jumps. The pancakes were actually being dropped on the floor with an upside down shot.

Continuity: When Pee Wee gathers everyone together in his basement to discuss his stolen bike, there's a shot of his dog Speck sitting in front of a person wearing horrible plastic pink or orange boots. It's Pee Wee's friend, Dotty. In the next shot, Dotty comes down the stairs...

Visible crew/equipment: Near the beginning of the film, when Pee-Wee unveils his beloved bicycle for the first time by disabling his elaborate garage security system, if you look carefully, a crew member's foot can be seen moving away as the garage door is opened.

Visible crew/equipment: When Pee Wee's getting his beloved superbike out of his secret hiding place you can see a hand holding it up for him.

Continuity: In the pet store fire scene, you see an aquarium full of fish. At one point Pee Wee stops to rescue them by scooping them into a plastic bag filled with water. While he's doing this, the aquarium is nearly empty. In the last scene of the sequence (as he's running out of the store with the snakes), the aquarium is again chock-full of fish.

Continuity: During breakfast, the orange juice container is below the yellow line, then almost full, then later back down again, all while filling with the squeezed orange juice.

Revealing: When Pee Wee is driving while Mickey is sleeping, he is passing all these signs that warn the road is going to become curvy. If you look at the bottom of the signs, you can see they are being moved on a track while the camera stays stationary.

Revealing: In the beginning of the movie, when Pee-Wee's breakfast contraption is running, if you look closely at the "orange" that is being squeezed, it is really an orange coloured sponge ball.

Continuity: When Pee-Wee gets a ride with the escaped convict, he gets in the car and he leaves his "Texas" sign on the road. In the next shot, as they drive off, it is not there.

Visible crew/equipment: Look closely when Pee Wee and John the hobo are sitting on the side of a traincar singing and you can see safety straps keeping them on the train.

Factual error: Towards the end when Pee Wee is being chased through the sound stage, he comes out through the open doors and the red light is flashing that indicates that filming is going on. But if the light were on, the doors would not be open. They also take a while to open, so it's not like they could have just swung open right before Pee Wee got there.

Visible crew/equipment: At the beginning, during Pee Wee's Tour De France dream, you can see the shadows of filming equipment on the ground as the camera passes a line of riders.

Visible crew/equipment: When Pee Wee first retrieves his bike from its hiding place behind a wall of brush, as the door rises you can see a crew member's leg (probably the crew member lifting the door) step out into view for a split second, on the left side of the door. If you blink you'll miss it, but you don't need slow-motion to spot it.

Continuity: As he leaves his house, PeeWee manually turns on his 'sprinklers' (the Water Wiggle toy) and warns his neighbour he is about to start watering the lawn. He then goes to the rear of the property to retrieve his bike. When he returns to the front yard (just a minute or so later) the sprinklers are no longer running.

Continuity: Just before PeeWee pours the Mr. T cereal over his pancakes, there are two pieces of toast lying on the table. After he begins eating the cereal only one piece of toast remains.

Revealing: When Mickey drops off Pee Wee in the middle of nowhere he hears animal sounds all around, so he reaches for his headlight glasses and puts them on. All the animals except for a few small critters like raccoons are all fake.

Visible crew/equipment: When Pee-Wee is riding the bull, the announcer finishes saying "He's going for a new world record", and at the bottom, middle/left you can see that Pee-Wee is not riding an actual bull. If you have a quick eye, you can see he's riding a mechanical bull like the one from the movie Urban Cowboy.
