Carter: There's something you want from me.
Porter: Val Resnick gave you a hundred and thirty thousand dollars.
Carter: He paid us. It was a debt.
Porter: Seventy thousand dollars of it is mine, and I want it back.
Carter: I'm sorry. Resnick told me, but I seem to have misplaced your name.
Porter: Porter.
Carter: Porter, right. I won't forget it again.
Trivia: The tagline for this film, "Get ready to root for the bad guy," was changed for the Australian release to "Get ready to cheer for the bad guy" after Mel Gibson pointed out the other meaning of the word "root" in Australian slang (to have sex) to the producers.
Question: Why doesn't Porter demand more money? Sure, his cut was $70,000, but since he's a crook, why not demand more?
Answer: Quote, "A work man is worthy of his hire." In the original version, the Mob Boss asked, "why are you doing all this?" He replied, "I want my money." It's as simple as that. He did a job and wants his payment.

Correction: We've seen Porter endure much more than that, he's simply able to endure the pain or not show it hurts.
