Continuity: In the scene when Mini Me and Young Number 2 grab for the cookies, when Young Number 2 grabs there are two, one that looks like chocolate chip, and a plain one. When Mini Me grabs for it there is just one.

Dr. Evil: You're not quite evil enough. You're semi-evil. You're quasi-evil. You're the margarine of evil. You're the Diet Coke of evil. Just one calorie, not evil enough.
Trivia
Dr. Evil's trademark gesture is holding his pinky finger to the corner of his mouth. The muscle that extends that finger is called the Exstensor Digitorum Minimi. See more...
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) - 86 mistakes
Directed by Jay Roach, starring Heather Graham, Michael York, Mike Myers, Mindy Sterling, Rob Lowe, Robert Wagner, Seth Green, Verne Troyer, Will Ferrell (add more)
Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Crime
Scott was NOT a test tube baby (watch all the way through the credits). He WAS conceived that night by Frau Farbissna and Dr. Evil, and therefore he SHOULD be about 29/30. It IS a mistake.
Revealing: During the bedroom scene with Felicity and Fat Bastard you can clearly see the air hose that fills his suit when he rolls over in the bed.
Continuity: When Austin is about to be sent back in time in the Bug, he reverses into some shelves with computers on them, knocking them over. He then pulls forwards. When he reverses again, the computers are back up, and he hits some barrels. When he pulls forwards again, the barrels are back up, but the computers have now disappeared again.
Continuity: When Fat Bastard falls down at the end, he disappears once the dancers come in.
Continuity: When Mini Me and Austin are fighting on the moon Mini Me bites Austin's spacesuit and you can see his British flag underwear. But after he sends Mini Me out into space, he drops the space suit and Austin is now wearing a blue jumper with no holes in it.
Revealing: In the scene where Mini Me is drawing the goodbye card to Scott, (before they go to the moon) you can see that the drawing is already on the page and Mini Me just traces it over.
Continuity: During the scene in which Mini Me draws the "goodbye card" to Scott, (which, as explained already on the list was drawn ahead of time,) There seems to be a red spot under Scott's body on the paper, no doubt signifying blood. But where did he get the red marker to draw it?
Continuity: Part of the time Doctor Evil's eyes are blue, part of the time they are brown. Specifically when he's talking to the President in 1969.
Continuity: At the end of the movie when Fat Bastard comes in Austin's room he breaks the door and pieces fall on the floor but later when you see the door the pieces aren't there.
Continuity: When Austin and Felicity are having a fun time in London, they stop and sit down at a table. Shortly after they sit down there is a lady behind Felicity in yellow and orange. Then it cuts to Austin, and she's behind him as well! There is no way someone could move that fast. Originally I thought that was the waitress outfit, so there could be more than one, but it's definitely the same woman both times, and on wider shots we only ever see one woman.
Continuity: Towards the beginning there's a scene where Austin and Felicity are interrogating a man at gunpoint. During this entire scene, Felicity is holding the trigger on the gun down!
Continuity: In the scene where we first meet Mini Me at certain points, if you look closely, the bottle in front of Scott is 3/4 full then suddenly empty.
Continuity: In the scene where Felicity shoots out Mustafa's tire, you can see in the next two shots that the tire is fully inflated as it goes off the cliff.
Continuity: During Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach's number, the drummer's snare rim taps are not in time with the actual music.
Audio problem: Towards the end, when Felicity Shagwell is captured in that glass tube, there's a shot of the entire room and she is yelling for Austin Powers but her lips aren't moving.
Continuity: In the scene where Mini Me is drawing a good-bye card for Scott, he uses only one pen, and yet there are two colors on the drawing: red and black.
Continuity: When Felicity was packing the tennis racket into the bag in the tent it must have been a tight fit, but a second later the bag is seen completly empty.
Continuity: When Fat Bastard explodes through Austin Powers' bedroom door, you can see where his right arm was meant to break through, but didn't. The piece of the door is shown still intact for a moment or two, but with the outline of his arm surrounding it. It disappears in the very next shot of the door only a second later.
Continuity: Austin is in a different position in his frozen state in this film than he was in the first film when he was unfrozen.
Deliberate "mistake": When Austin and Felicity cross the street when they are shopping, you can see green hills behind them, very much like Hollywood and not 1969 London. (deliberate reference to an earlier joke)
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Felicity and Fat Bastard are in bed together, a certain shot reveals that under Fat Bastard's breast is a patch of velcro which holds it down.
Continuity: At the start the astronaut is working on the satellite and turns around fully, then stops and sees Big Boy. The camera changes angle and the astronaut is still turning around.
Other: In the scene after Mini-Me's and Austin's fight when Austin is sitting on the space toilet to "eject" Mini-Me he picks up a copy of the London Times, as seen on the cover page of the newspaper. On the last page of the newspaper there is a weather page showing a map of the United States. Why would the London Times have the weather for the United States instead of Great Britain?
Continuity: When Austin arrives at the photo shooting session we see Rebecca Romijn in the background with two stylists on her right side. When it cuts one of the stylist has suddenly moved to her left side.
Continuity: When Number Two tells about the coffee company they'd invested in he is standing right next to the counter. When it cuts he is standing 10 feet away from the counter.
Continuity: In the scene where Austin and Felicity are downtown on the sidewalk, they alternate long and closeup camera shots from the same angle. There is a crowd of people standing around watching them in the background on the long shots, but only individuals walking past, ignoring them, in the closeup shots.
Continuity: After the assassin throws the knife into Robin Swallows' back, the shot cuts to the assassin. But when it cuts back, Austin is looking quizzically at her back, and we see why. The knife has disappeared! But in all subsequent shots (except when she falls and hits the ground) it is there.
Continuity: In the scene when Austin is about to travel into the future you can clearly see as Basil types in the date '1969' that the numbers are already on the screen.
Revealing: In the scene where Ms. Spitz is with Austin at the party and she orders the hitman to use the bazooka, you can clearly see when he fires that the missile stays in the tube.
Continuity: When Austin is playing chess with Ivana, his necklace symbol keeps switching sides, yet he clearly isn't jolting around enough for it to move in this way.
Continuity: In the view from the inside the tent, Austin is crouched and standing four legged. But his silhouette shown from the outside shows him perfectly four legged with his back straight.
Revealing: When Dr. Evil is on the Jerry Springer show, he jumps to punch the Klanman and misses by far, but still the punch sound is heard. This happens again seconds after in another punch. He misses but the sound is heard.
Factual error: During the first joke about the shape of Dr. Evil's rocket, we see Willie Nelson. But he looks the same as he does today, when he should be thirty years younger.
Continuity: When Basil is driving Austin through the big warehouse to where the time machine is, the car is travelling in a straight line yet he is turning the steering wheel.
Other: In the scene where Fat Bastard come through Austin Power's bedroom, it obvious that the door had been pre-cut for Fat Bastard to go through. There's a piece of door, in the shape of a fist, just dangling in its spot where Fat Bastard didn't quite knock it out.
Continuity: There is a scene when Austin and Felicity spend a day on the town, go back to Austin's shag pad, then separate for the night. The next day they are back in the same exact clothes as yesterday (after a clothes change piece the night before).
Continuity: In the famous "fight scene" with Austin and Mini Me, we see Mini Me picking Powers up in a Gorilla press and turning him around. Well, when the camera is closing up on Mini Me, he is standing still, twisting him round. However, when the camera isn't close-up on him, Mini Me is turning round.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Dr. Evil tells Austin that he is his father, if you look closely at the lower left of Dr. Evil's helmet, there is the reflection of a stagehand standing by one of the windows.(There are many reflections on his helmet, so you may want to pause it so you can look around for it.)
Continuity: The distance between Austin and the table when inside the tent differs between the inside and outside shots.
Visible crew/equipment: When Austin is playing chess, two lighting screens are reflected on his glasses.
Continuity: When Austin goes after Felicity he parks his car by a crosswalk. His car changes from being parked on the crosswalk, to being parked beside the crosswalk.
Continuity: In many shots throughout the film, the scar on Dr. Evil's cheek disappears and appears again.
Continuity: When Vanessa is shooting at Austin and he waves the white flag, the vase on the shelf behind him is whole. When it cuts to a close-up of the flag the vase behind it is suddenly broken.
Continuity: In the shot where Rob Lowe is telling Dr. Evil that Mini Me bites, he holds up his right hand a few seconds before showing Dr. Evil the wounds Mini Me had done to him. Then when he really shows Dr. Evil the wounds, cuts and bandages suddenly appear from nowhere. How could he of gotten the bite marks and bandages so quickly? It's just not possible.
Continuity: Just at the scene where Ivana and Austin are playing chess - just afterwards when Austin asks her if he "makes her feel horny", and she stands up and confesses she was sent by Dr. Evil, but finds him so sexy, etc, in the long shot showing Austin and Ivana as she is saying that, you see Austin has both hands on table, but in the short cuts of Austin close-up, he has one arm over the chair. These shots continue for a little.
Continuity: After Austin and Felicity have crossed the street in London and have sat down at the cafe, where Burt and Elvis are playing, Felicity has a red handbag with her. She places the bag on the table whilst her and Austin talk about the future. When Austin says "care to dance" the bag is still on the table. They both go to dance, and the table is taken away by a woman towards the edge of the screen. The scene goes back to Austin and Felicity dancing for a second. The woman can now be seen with two chairs, but no table or red handbag.
Continuity: At the Starbucks headquarters, while they're all explaining the plan about time travelling, the coffe cup next to Austin keeps moving closer/farther away all the time.
Continuity: When Dr.Evil is saying zip-it to Scotty right before they unveil the time machine, he is talking to his left with Mini-mM to the right of him. When the time portal is unveiled, Scotty is suddenly sitting on the right of Mini-Me (on the far side of Frau and her lover). The shot was obviously flipped.
Other: When Dr.evil goes in the time machine for the first time, it shows a split screen of him and both portals are set to 1969.
Continuity: When Austin and Vanessa is in bed and she is stroking him on his chest she has some pillows behind her head. When it cuts the pillows have changed position.
Continuity: After Felicity says to Austin, "Don't worry about me, you have to save the world", smoke starts to fill up the glass case she is trapped in(this is the scene in Dr. Evil's moon base). When Austin starts shooting the henchmen, Felicity's glass case isn't filled with any smoke.
Continuity: When Austin has just come back from the future and has been in the party with all the shooting, he and Felicity jump in the car in the middle of the night. One second later there's a back shot inside the car and it's dawn light. Two seconds afterwards they're driving down the road and it's broad daylight. Furthermore, the light changes from sunny, to a bit cloudy in each shot.
Deliberate "mistake": When Austin is playing chess with Ivana, the pieces have been moved in impossible positions throughout their few moves.
Continuity: In the scene where Felicity and Austin are dancing in the street whilst Burt Bacerack is singing, there is a couple sitting at a table behind them. The shot keeps changing between the couple and Burt and the lady's handbag keeps changing position and angle between shots.
Audio problem: When Dr. Evil and Mini Me are playing piano, the visible movements of their hands and arms do not match with the melody.
Continuity: When Austin and Mini Me are fighting Mini Me hocks a loogie in Austin's face. The spit disappears almost immediately but we never see Austin wipe it away.
Continuity: When the fembot Robin Swallows, and a male assassin at the party attempt to murder Austin, Robin gets a knife in the back which stays there even when they get blown out of the window. As they're falling, notice that before she turns over it's still in her back, even when Austin moves her in front of himself to shield his fall. The only problem is, with the knife still in her back Austin would've been really injured when they hit the ground. However, when they land, the knife mysteriously disappears.
Continuity: In the lab scene (with the coffee gag) Basil looks much younger than he does in the 90s. However, earlier when Basil asked Felicity to plant the homing device on Fat Bastard, he looked the same as he did in the 90s. He should have looked younger both times.
Factual error: Through most of the film, a lot of the cars used are left hand drive, while in the UK cars are right hand drive. While left hand drive cars are occasionally seen in the UK, they're very few and far between.
Continuity: When Felicity is sticking a racket in the bag, the racket has at first been tucked all the way in to the end of the handle. But a frame later, half of the handle is still out.
Continuity: When Felicity says "You better play it cool. Your friend works for Dr. Evil," both Austin and Felicity are facing the same direction, but at the end of the last shot you can see them in the distance facing each other.
Factual error: The song American Woman by The Guess Who is being played in the nightclub when Austin goes back to 1969. Cool song, but it wasn't released until 1970.
Continuity: Watch the toppings on the cookie Mini-Me eats in the middle of the movie. Before Number 2 starts to tell Dr. Evil that Mini-Me bites, there is only one chocolate chip (or raisin) on the cookie. When Dr. Evil asks Mini-Me if there is anything he'd like to say, the cookie has more chocolate chips (or raisins).
Continuity: During the campfire scene, Felicity is shown banging a tennis racket into Austin's bag. But Austin bends down a little more, and so does the racket. Implying that maybe that wasn't the bag? He did say he had back pains. It is kind of hard to see.
Continuity: When Dr. Evil is about to spend a night with Frau Farbissina, the collar of his shirt is different from the white collar you can see under his grey jacket during the rest of the film.
Continuity: In the "Starbucks" scene you can see a paper cup of coffee, and a muffin on the table in front of Dr. Evil. (His pocket mirror is not visible in the first shot.) During next two minutes of the film the different items continually change their positions with the different camera angles; furthermore a piece of paper appears and disappears.
Visible crew/equipment: During the fight scene between Mini Me and Austin, as Mini Me crawls his way into Austin's space suit we see Mini Me's legs moving. On the wide shot, when slowed down, you can clearly see the head of the puppeteer of the fake legs just behind Austin's left shoulder.
Continuity: In the whole movie, Dr. Evil's head switches from completely bald, to shaven. Also, in the scene when Austin is in his blue jumper in The Allan Parsons Project's main chamber, you can clearly see Dr. Evil's stand in and he's about 6 inches taller.
Continuity: At the end when Austin and Felicity are standing around in Austin's Pad. She turns to Austin talk for a bit, then Fat Bastard comes in. Felicity and Austin retreat up the step and Fat Bastard talks... anyway, when he is falling to the ground, Austin and Felicity do the exact same "retreat up the step" thing. When he's finished falling, Felicty turns to Austin again but they've reused the part where she turns to him at the beginning and dubbed over what she says at the end of that shot. It may seem a bit confusing, but it is fairly noticeable.
Continuity: When Mini Me is first ejected into space, you see him just flying backwards, yet in the next shot he is rotating freely.
Continuity: During the first scene of the movie with the robot android, when Austin's been blown up by the explosion, his glasses change from broken to perfect between shots.
Other: When Frau shoots the gun out of Austin's hand, she fires from behind his back. The spark from the bullet impact is on the front of the gun which Austin is holding in front of him. One of those new boomerang bullets?
Continuity: When Dr. Evil is demonstrating how his "Death Star" will work, he lines up the "laser" with Washington D.C. Then later on when he is arguing with his son Scott, the "laser" has moved way above Washington D.C.
Continuity: When Austin is fighting with Mustafa at the side of the road, we see a red London telephone box. But if you look inside, you can spot a modern day push button phone. No way were these around in the 60`s!
Factual error: When we have the last montage of jokes about the shape of Dr. Evil's rocket, it is 1969. You can tell from the clothes and the fact that Dr. Evil left in the rocket from the moon base and Austin and Felicity had to go forward in time from the moon base to get back. Now in this montage we see Woody Harrelson (in a cameo) who is apparently an accomplished actor in 1969. One small problem: Harrelson was born on July 23, 1961 and therefore would be around 8 years old.
Other: In the scene when Austin is rising out of the pool in the beginning, the water that shoots out of the platform he is standing on is actually going into the water shooter/sprinkler instead of coming out. This is due to reversing the film (so he comes out dry), but hey, it still looks weird.
Continuity: At the end of the movie when Felicity Shagwell is with Austin in the 90's, they are in Austin's new pad. Felicity is wearing a multi-coloured top. After she turns on the lights and all the party goers enter, Felicity goes over to Austin. There, she's wearing a white top. How could she have changed so fast?
Continuity: When Austin is at the photo shoot with the Ivana Humpalot and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (playing herself), he raises his arm and there is a sweat stain in his armpit. A few seconds later, when he raises his arm again, it's gone.
Continuity: After they defeated Dr.Evil, Austin and Vanessa were married six months later, so the year would have been around mid to late 1997 or early 1998 when they were on there honeymoon. But in the second one, it's 1999 and they are still on their honeymoon. Do you think that they would have had their honeymoon for a year and a half?
Continuity: In the scene where Mini Me shoots Mustafa with the blow-dart he is clearly on the left hand side, yet he hits Mustafa on the right side of his neck.
Continuity: When Dr. Evil is singing "Just the Two of Us", as he says "C'est la vie" Scott walks past him, Dr. Evil looks at him (he walks to the right). Then Dr. Evil turns around about 4 seconds later and Scott is back standing by Frau and Number 2. He couldn't have moved THAT fast.
Continuity: When Dr. Evil is demonstrating his "moon laser" - the inflatable earth with the target on it keeps changing position where the laser is pointing at the target and then other times significantly above it.
Other: in the begining before Vannesa blows up you'll see eyeballs have appeared on her from nowhere.
Factual error: When Austin is photographing his frozen self, you can hear a motordrive on the camera whirring away. However, the camera doesn't have a motordrive attached, and anyway is a Nikon F with Photomic head which doesn't have a socket for a motordrive.
Continuity: All of the short dance numbers that separate scenes, even in the beginning of the movie, show Austin with his "bad" teeth - except for one.
Continuity: When Austin and Ivana Humpalot are playing chess and getting "hot" with the chess pieces, notice that Austin is playing with the tips of two white bishops. Bishops are never next to each other and he was playing the black pieces.
