Mistake Revealing: In the scene where Hallie trashes Annie's cabin and the huge water balloon is about to fall on Annie's head, the camera is at a downward view and Annie clearly steps into the trail of the balloon instead of jumping away.

Mistake Revealing: In the scene where Hallie is about to pierce Annie's ear, Annie puts the apple underneath her earlobe and Hallie puts the needle in - you can clearly see that Annie's ear already has a hole in it.

Mistake Revealing: After the two girls are finished playing poker in the cabin and Annie lost and had to jump in the lake naked, you can see the outline of the bathing suit she is wearing.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Dennis Quaid sees Elizabeth and falls in the pool, its broad daylight, but when she helps him and they're sitting down, its twilight and there are a lot of lights on, but when they see his fiancée they stand up and it's broad daylight again.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Hallie and Annie are in the isolation cabin, you see the bucket that the water is dripping into from the leak in the roof, on a stack of books. After the wind blows all of Hallie's pictures off the wall they are sitting on the ground picking them up, Annie is seen picking up Hallie's little animal (Cuppie) right next to the bucket of water, which is now on the ground with no stack of books to be seen.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Hallie wants to get a popsickle/lemonade, her hair bobble is green, but in the next shot it is white and then changes back to green again.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Hallie arrives in San Francisco she is shown getting out of the car and the door is closed, then in the close-up shot the car door is open in the background.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Annie playing Hallie is being introduced to Meredith by the pool, it shows Nick wearing sunglasses, but in the next shot of him he is not.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Annie is entering her home in London, she puts her hand on the doorknob and pushes the door open. In the next shot when it shows the entryway with the door opening, there is no doorknob.

Mistake Revealing: In the scene where Annie has to jump in the lake "butt naked," she's standing on the dock, and at one point she has noticeably pierced ears. But Annie (the Londoner) is the one who didn't have pierced ears until after the girls discovered their twinness.

Mistake Revealing: When Meredith meets Nick and Elizabeth at the pool, Hallie comes up on her left and says, 'Hi, Mer.' Then Annie comes up on her right and says, 'How's it going?' Meredith shrieks as she looks from one girl to the other and you can tell that Annie is not really there, because Meredith is looking over her head rather than directly at her face, which she does with Hallie.

Mistake Continuity: The scene is by the pool at the hotel in San Francisco.  He has just emerged from the water and is sitting on a lounger.  Bits of the scene were clearly shot at markedly different times of day, as the light changes noticeably in colour and direction of shadows.

Mistake Continuity: When you see the limo driver taking out Annie's luggage, the limo is right next to the luggage, but when Martin is about to leave you see the limo much further away from the luggage.

Mistake Continuity: When everyone is saying their good-byes at camp, Hallie (as Annie) takes the passport and the small carry-on and turns to get in the limo. The shot switches so you can see the limo, and Hallie (as Annie) is holding the carry-on in the other hand.

Mistake Continuity: In the opening scenes when you see the limo pulling up to let Annie and Martin out you see the pavement to the right of the limo has a lot of sunlight on it. When they get out and are standing on the pavement, the sunlight is gone.

Mistake Continuity: In the car, before entering her mother's house, Annie is wearing a plastic watch, but when she hugs her mother she is wearing a metal watch.

Mistake Factual error: After Hallie and Annie send Meredith out on the air mattress onto the lake, Meredith wakes up and there is a bird on her chest. The bird is a Red-Crested Turaco, which are native to Africa.

Mistake Continuity: When Annie and her friends are approaching the area where the fencing is taking place, all three girls are holding tennis rackets. The shot switches to the camp counselor and back to the girls. The African American girl is no longer holding a tennis racket. The shot goes back to the counselor and then to the girls again, where all three have a tennis racket again.

Mistake Factual error: In the scene in which Annie and Hallie are fencing, it portrays it as though Annie does not win until she hits Hallie (effectively knocking her into the water). However, in a real fencing match, Annie would have won within a few seconds after they started. Once a person is backed off their end of the strip, their opponent automatically gets a point.

Mistake Continuity: In the opening scene, they show the lake and the little sign that says Camp Walden. There are boats under a roof top right in front of the pier. But in the scene where they show Annie jumping into the lake the boats are in a different location and the roof top is gone.

Mistake Continuity: When Annie and Hallie are playing poker, Annie puts down a pound. In the very next shot, when Hallie puts down a $10 bill, the pound is gone. There wasn't a big enough pile of stuff yet to hide the pound.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Nicky and Annie are talking about him getting married, Annie's cowboy hat on the couch at her left changes position a few times.

Mistake Continuity: I the scene where Hallie and her mom are having tea, you can see a watch on the mom's wrist. After Martin hands Cuppy to Hallie, in the next shot of her mom, there is no watch.

Mistake Revealing: When Hallie and Annie are fencing with each other, Hallie forces Annie's sword into the air, and Annie runs towards the hay stack in the background to catch it. The sword lands on top of the stack of hay to the left of the screen and bounces out of sight; Annie then catches another sword that falls from above, that someone obviously dropped for her to catch.

Mistake Continuity: When the twins are standing on the steps of the isolation cabin, talking about their familes, Hallie, one time is not looking at Annie - her eye-line for the special effect is off.

Mistake Continuity: When Annie and Hallie get out of the water bin after their fence match, the water stain on Hallie's vest changes patterns.

Mistake Continuity: When Annie got hit by the huge water balloon, she got herself drenched from head to toe. But in the next scene when both the camp leaders, as well as Hallie, were inside the bunk with her, Annie was completely dry.

Mistake Continuity: When Annie and Hallie are dragging Meredith's airbed into the lake, a close-up of the girls at the water's edge shows the one in a blue plaid shirt with her sleeves rolled up. In a long shot behind them, her sleeves aren't rolled up.

Mistake Factual error: If you have ever actually seen London then you can see that the route Hallie takes to get to the house would take you all around London.

Mistake Other: When Hallie is trying to stop Marva from entering the Navajo bunk, there is one shot where Annie glances up at the bucket of chocolate hanging over the door. Since the prank was set up while Annie was asleep, she'd have no way of knowing it was there.

Mistake Continuity: During the scene when Hallie and Annie are seen lying next to each other, Annie's ponytail goes from in front of her to in back in some shots.

Mistake Factual error: At the hotel, Chessy's door to her room stays open after she goes into the other room to discuss the whole 'dad doesn't know' matter. In real hotels, the guest-room doors have auto-closing mechanisms for fire safety and security. The door would have swung closed and locked Chessy out, but even though this is a 4 or 5 star hotel which would be fully equipped as far as modernity's, it doesn't.

Mistake Continuity: After Annie first meets Meredith (playing Hallie), when she's sitting in the red water floater, her necklace goes from tucked inside her bathing suit to out, then to in again.

Mistake Continuity: When Hallie and Annie get out of the water bin after their fence match, they both take off their helmets, revealing Annie's messy hair. In the next few scenes, you see the hair a little less messier than before and neatly pulled back.

Mistake Audio problem: In the scene where Annie is saying goodbye to her butler Martin and they perform their legendary handshake Annie is the first to put her hand down when they stack there hands, however you hear a clapping sound. I saw this on video and I know the movie inside out. This was no cinema mistake.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Dad shows Mum his wine collection and the wine from their wedding, you can see a microphone dangling right over Dad's head.

Mistake Revealing: At one point when the two twins are sitting against the wall inside the Isolation Cabin and talking, one of them casts a shadow on the wall while the other doesn't.

Mistake Continuity: When Hallie (posing as Annie) arrives in London, she is seen sitting on the left seat in the car when she's on her way home, passing by the various spots in London. However, when she reaches home, she is sitting on the right side of the car. Unless she was sitting alone, this is not logical as Martin was sitting together with her at the back of the car.

Mistake Factual error: Copyright stamp at the end of credits reads MCMMXCVIII, that is the third M is superfluous. [Watched on Australian TV. Wouldn't complain if it wasn't a Disney production ;-) AVB, Sydney]

Mistake Revealing: When the balloon falls on Annie's head, you can see the tack on her head that is used to pop the balloon. It is not just a hair that is sticking up because it is right over the spot where the balloon hits her head.

Mistake Revealing: Annie and Hallie come downstairs at the hotel dressed in the same outfits, as their parents tell them to hurry before their mother misses her flight back to England. Nicholas Parker leans over and looks at one of the girls in the eyes and says "This one's Hallie." and she replies, looking straight ahead at him in the eyes. When the other twin speaks, she's looking straight ahead as well, which would technically mean she is looking at nothing.

Mistake Continuity: When Hallie is posing as Annie and is going to her mother's house for the first time, a piece of her hair is obviously sticking out on the side of her ear (It's very noticeable). When she gets to the front, and the camera angle changes, her hair is all perfect without any hair sticking out.

Mistake Continuity: When Annie and Hallie are just about to play cards, Annie spreads all the cards out on the bed and turns them over and then back again. But in one of the shots you can see that it is Hallie who turned the cards over because her fingernails are painted and Annie's are not.

Mistake Continuity: In the opening scenes where they show the camera girl about to take a picture of them, you can see that there are candles and a flower arrangement on the table. When they open the book to show us the picture of them the candles are gone and the flower arrangement is different.
