Factual error: When the Sherriff dies, one of the college kids picks up the Sheriff"s gun and shoots himself accidentally, then Chad picks up the gun and fires eleven more times. The gun is a revolver, which only holds six rounds.

Chad's father wasn't killed by the psycho killer from 20 years ago because the psycho killer is his father. Chad's mother was the only survivor of the attack and lied to Chad about his father. Dale and Allison discover this when they find an old newspaper article about the massacre. Dale defeats Chad by throwing at him a box of old chamomile tea (which Chad is allergic to) and he falls from the second floor of the lumber mill to his apparent death. Dale visits Tucker at the hospital, gives him a beer and tells him that he and Allison are going bowling. At the bowling alley, Dale tells Allison how he feels about her and she says that she feels the same way about him.
