Moonraker

Question: Just before Bond gets get on the cable car, there is a brass band wearing full costume animal outfits, a grey rabbit, pink chicken, red monkey, spotted dog. What is the song they are playing and which band is it?

Question: If the nerve gas doesn't infect animals, what about people's pets? How would they survive without being fed if all the owners are dead?

Trainman

Answer: They would die or escape and go feral, as would zoo animals, farm animals etc.

Question: What happened to the Space Marines and Draxites who were fighting outside the space station? We have a great big shootout and then they're not even mentioned or seen when the station explodes. And there's no mention that anyone was recovered afterwards. (Just Jaws and Dolly).

John.G

Chosen answer: One of the Marines is heard to say to return to the shuttle after Bond gets in. The Draxites must have returned to the station.

Grumpy Scot

Answer: There is a very brief scene of the Marines' shuttle undocking from the space station.

Question: What is Dolly's (Jaw's girlfriend) relationship with Drax Industries (as evident in her yellow jumpsuit)?

Onesimos

Chosen answer: She doesn't have any official connection to Drax Industries. She only gets to come along to the station due to her relationship with Jaws. That's when she gets the yellow jumpsuit.

Guy

Question: What happened to the groups of men and women that were supposed to be the members of Drax's master race? They're never seen again after he gives his speech on the space station.

jbrbbt

Answer: Most were killed in the laser battle, if you look carefully you can see some of their bodies laying on the floor of the station afterwards. The others were most likely sucked into space or blown up, when the station exploded.

Question: At the end, Bond and Dr Goodhead see Jaws and Dolly on what's left of the space station. Bond asks Jaws to help them because they are stuck and can't set off, and Jaws obliges, but why did Bond not ask Jaws and Dolly to join them on the shuttle too? Jaws helped Bond escape, so they are basically on the same side, so why did he not try to save Jaws and his girlfriend?

Heather Benton

Chosen answer: Jaws knows there's no time. If Bond doesn't destroy the nerve gas satellites, millions will die.

Grumpy Scot

Chosen answer: Drax explains to Bond that he stole the shuttle (built by his own company for NASA and on loan to the UK) because one of the shuttles in his fleet going to his space station developed a mechanical fault.

Sierra1

Question: At first I thought that Jaws was chasing Bond throughout the movie, because he failed to kill him in the previous movie, The Spy Who Loved Me, but it turns out that he works for Drax now, whereas he first worked for Stromberg in TSWLM. As far as I know, Drax and Stromberg have nothing to do with each other, so is it purely a coincidence that Jaws now works for a new employer, which happens to be Bond's new target?

Answer: There's a scene where Drax is on the phone trying to hire someone to kill Bond. He says to the person on the other end "Well, of COURSE, if you can get HIM!" This is when he hires Jaws.

Captain Defenestrator

Question: Who is the Brazilian woman that provided information on a warehouse to Bond? Is she an intelligence agent?

Onesimos

Chosen answer: Manuela (played by Emily Bolten) is an Intelligence operative assigned to assist 007 in Brazil.

Zwn Annwn

Question: What did Bond say in front of Drax which made Jaws reluctant to send Bond to his death in space?

Onesimos

Chosen answer: His comments to Drax were about the physical and mental perfection that Drax required for those chosen to repopulate the Earth. As Dolly (Jaw's girlfriend) needs glasses, she falls short of those criteria (as, quite probably, does Jaws himself), which makes him wonder whether Drax won't simply get rid of them once he's carried out his plan. As such, he chooses to ally himself with Bond rather than risk Dolly being harmed.

Tailkinker

Answer: He saw the gun turret sticking out of the nose cone.

Factual error: Although it's already been mentioned that the scene of the shuttle being stolen from the back of the 747 is impossible because the shuttle wouldn't be fueled while being transported, it should also be noted that even if the shuttle was fueled, it would still be just as impossible. During the getaway, the thieves ignited the shuttle's three main engines to get free of the 747 and escape. The thing is, the shuttle's main engines are fueled entirely by the large external tank the shuttle and the solid fuel boosters are attached to during liftoff, and once the tank is jettisoned, these engines cannot be used. The only engines the shuttle's internal fuel feeds are the reaction control thrusters and the Orbital Maneuvering System (which are the two smaller engines located in the bulges just above the main engines). Both the RCS thrusters and OMS engines are almost totally useless within the atmosphere, so even if the thieves managed to get the shuttle free of the 747, they could only get it as far as it would glide unpowered. In fact, they could probably get it further if it wasn't fueled. It should be noted that this is not a fictional, futuristic spacecraft. It's a bog standard shuttle, stolen from NASA, on the back of the modified 747 used by them to transport the orbiter from its landing site to Cape Canaveral.

Trivia: The film's budget had been more than the first six Bond films added together, but Broccoli's gamble paid off. Upon release in the summer of 1979, the film enjoyed huge success globally, and the film easily recouped its budget.
