Continuity mistake: When Walter is watching the fire go through the electrical system in the walls of the kitchen, watch the blender. One shot shows thick, chunky, white/orange stuff flowing out over the edge of the counter. The very next shot shows the blender toppled, but very clean. There is no trace of the chunky stuff in the blender or on the counter.

Continuity mistake: When Walter watches the electricity disappear in the wall, you can see about six tiles fly at him, but only three or four missing on the wall.

Continuity mistake: When Walter is getting the water from the stove you see only one bucket. When he gets upstairs with the water he is carrying two buckets.

Continuity mistake: When Walter gets catapulted through the window and into the plaster tub he lands on top of the window curtain. He raises his head, now covered with plaster, but not with the curtain. When he stands up we see his head and entire body thoroughly and completely wrapped in the plaster soaked curtain.

Audio problem: In the end of the movie when the band plays during their wedding, watch the drummer. The drummer is playing something different than what you hear.

Audio problem: When the train goes through the station there is no change of sound, ie. Doppler effect.

Factual error: In the scene when Walter was in the den in the middle of the floor, Anna lifts up part of the blanket and he falls through to the first floor. However, in the next scene, he appears to be able to walk without any problem. The second floor was at least 20-30 feet above the first floor and was covered with all sorts of rubble and a wooden floor. If he had fallen that far, he would have been badly injured and would not have been able to just walk like he did.

Continuity mistake: After the first full day's work is done, at first, there isn't any scaffolding, but when Anna comes home late at night, there is heaps of scaffolding.

Deliberate mistake: When Shelly Long is pretending to play a skilled violinist, to achieve this, when we first see this, Shelly's bow is above the strings; hence, no noise.

Audio problem: In the beginning, Walter and Anna are in bed and Walter gently slaps Anna on the hip 4 times, but we hear 5 slaps.

Continuity mistake: When the owner of the house greets the young couple at the door, her drink is in her right hand, but once inside her drink is now in her left hand.

Continuity mistake: When Walter is hanging from the staircase after its collapse, Anna is about a foot back from the edge of the steps when she first approaches. However in the closeup shot we see that she's now on the edge and on Walter's fingers.

Plot hole: Walter and Anna each agree to pay half of the $200,000 for the house. However, Walter borrows the full amount of $200,000 from Benny. He also didn't know the house was a lemon.

Suggested correction: When Walter tells the homeowner that the pool is well-kept, she lets out a groan that suggests that it's a flood.

I think it was because the lady who owned the house said her husband was deported out of the country because it turned out that during the war her husband was Hitler's pool boy, and she didn't know it. I would assume that he would keep a nice pool and since her husband was gone, she needed to sell the house.

Water Fielding: Do you know how hard it is to find a really good carpenter? Besides, I think he's got a brother who's a plumber.
Anna Crowley: Really? A brother who's a plumber?
Water Fielding: I think so.
Anna Crowley: Do you think I should sleep with him?
Water Fielding: Maybe just this once.

Question: Walter is discussing changing the name of Cheap Girls to Meryl Streep with a band member. When they say 'Meryl Streep,' their mouths are not in sync with the words. Do you know what the original name change was supposed to be, and why was it changed?

Answer: It was Jane Fonda.

Answer: I have watched this several times. It looks to me like he is saying Meryl Streep but the audio is just out of sync with the man's lips. Plus when Hanks says it, it matches Meryl Streep on his lips.

William Bergquist

Answer: It looks like Meryl Streep the first time he says it but not the second.
