When Coach Bombay is talking to the old store owner guy while he sharpens a skate and whatnot, there is a picture of Mike Modano hanging up behind them. Modano was the Minnesota North Star's first overall pick in the 1988 entry draft. He even stayed with them when they moved to Dallas in 1993.
When Gordon and Charlie's mom are looking at the ice sculptures, watch the people in the background near the end of the scene. Just as Charlie's mom starts to walk away, a woman in a beige hooded coat pauses, makes a circling motion in front of her face then points at the sculptures. What she's doing is saying "It's beautiful" in American Sign Language.
