Continuity mistake: When Charlie checks on Bella after she returns from Italy, the blanket on top of her keeps moving down or up.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Bella jumps off the cliff, Bella's eyes are brown before jumping but are blue/green when she surfaces in the water and then back to brown in the underwater and shore scenes.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Carlisle is treating Bella's wound there is a shot of the bowl where he is putting the glass from the wound. You see that there is one piece of gauze. He then starts stitching up the wound and when he lights the contents of the bowl, you see lots more gauze that he hasn't used in there. (00:15:20 - 00:16:25)
Continuity mistake: In the Volturi Chamber, when Aro moves forward to kill Bella after he says it's a sadness because Edward does not intend to give her immortality, you can see Alice's hair and part of her face along the right side of the screen. Actually, at this point Alice is standing to the left and behind Bella, being held by the neck by Dementri.
Continuity mistake: In the dirt bike scene, Bella takes off and starts to lose control. The camera pans so it is showing her hands on the bike, losing control, and she doesn't have a very stable control on the direction the bike is going. It looks as if she is going toward the right, into a small ditch, about to crash. The camera then shows her face, and she is still in the middle of the road, not close to crashing yet, with decent control of the bike.
Continuity mistake: Bella and Jacob are in the truck after Bella cliff jumps. During the green-screen driving shots, the rear-view mirror is hanging down low. When it switches to a live shot, the mirror is very high up.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Jacob is talking to Bella on the beach about Victoria, his shirt starts off as a dark gray colour, then it changes to a brown colour. It does this a few times during the scene.
Continuity mistake: In the break up scene, Bella's hair starts off down her back and when the shots change it moves to be mainly over her shoulders.
Continuity mistake: After Jessica and Bella leave the movie theater and see the bikers, the parked car and fire hydrant are in different positions.
Continuity mistake: In the birthday party scene, as Edward sends Jasper flying with a shove, it first shows Edward pushing Jasper in a downward arc, the next cut shows Jasper flying up through the air as he hits the piano. (00:14:20)
Continuity mistake: In the last scene when Jacob confronts Edward and Bella. Edward's hair is it's usual poofed up, uncombed look but after Bella separates Jacob and Edward and Jacob runs off, when the camera is back on Edward, his hair is flat and neatly combed, then within a few seconds it's back to its uncombed look.
Continuity mistake: After the ill-fated birthday party, Edward drops Bella home in her car. After the kiss, in one shot Edward's face is very close to hers, forehead resting on hers. When it cuts, his face is far away from hers. (00:18:55)
Continuity mistake: After the scene where Jacob rescues Bella from the ocean, when they're driving home it's not dark outside as they're pulling up into Charlie's driveway. But once Jacob starts talking about Sam and Emily, it's darker outside. Even after they get to the door. (01:23:30 - 01:26:55)
Continuity mistake: The Swann residence has changed from the first film. Although the house looks exactly the same, the street and landscaping are completely different. An identical replica of the house was built in a different location for the second and third film.
Chosen answer: The way I understand it, Alice's power only works once someone makes a conscious decision to act. Since Bella's paper cut was unanticipated, Jasper's attack was impulsive, not premeditated.
