Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when Michael chases the delivery truck in a red Ford Contour, he crashes into a bus and the car spins several times. If you watch closely you can see that after the crash the left headlight is very badly damaged and the right one is missing, but the next scene shows the car almost undamaged.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Tim Robbins is helping the kid of Jeff Bridges with his baseball practice, he is talking to Jeff outside of the practice area. He swings a little with a bat and then leave the bat resting on his left shoulder, then the shot is from a different angle and the bat is resting on his right shoulder.

Continuity mistake: One for car freaks : In the car pursuit towards the end of the film, two different model years of the same car (Ford Contour) are used. After taking a turn in the '97 version, the next one is taken in the quite differently styled '98 model.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning, when the boy is injured and walking down the road, he starts dripping blood. A large drop falls on his left runner - next shot it is completely gone.

Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the movie, during a fight scene between Jeff Bridges & Tim Robbins, Tim Robbins has a bloody face in one scene and the next time you see him, his face has hardly any blood on it. The scene after that, the blood is back on his face.

Continuity mistake: When Jeff Bridges leaves the home of Dean's father he takes a Taxi wearing glasses. When he gets into the Taxi he's not wearing them.

Suggested correction: Keep your eye on his left hand. Happens very quickly, but you can see him take the glasses off, and you can see the glasses in his left hand right before he enters the cab.
