Continuity mistake: In spring training, Lou Brown and the other coach walk over to check out Charlie Sheen's pitching. When Lou says "all right, let's see what you can do," the coaches are pretty much either side of a post supporting the fence, with a "no pepper" sign to their right. When Sheen pitches, the two coaches have suddenly moved about 6 feet over, away from the post, with the no pepper sign directly between them. (00:15:15)

Continuity mistake: When Lou Brown and the pitching coach are working with Vaughn, walk over to the plate and stand on either side of Taylor (to simulate a batter on either side). In the first shot, you can see a "No Pepper Games" sign off to the left side, the shot cuts to Vaughn, and then back to the coaches and Taylor. All of a sudden, the sign has moved from over on the left side on the backstop, to directly above Taylor on the backstop and Vaughn proceeds to smash it with a high fastball. Another mistake entry said this: In spring training, Lou Brown and the other coach walk over to check out Charlie Sheen's pitching. The coaches didn't move, the sign did. There's only one home plate there. How could the plate move? It had to be the sign. (00:15:15)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Pedro is explaining how Jobu will help him "take fear from bats", he sticks a cigarette in Jobu's mouth and lights it. Then when he turns around to speak to Eddie in the next shot, the cigarette has been replaced by a cigar. (00:18:25)

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Pedro sticks a cigarette in Jobu's mouth, he lights it and it starts burning on its own. There's no way a cigarette can burn like that without being inhaled. (00:18:25)

Continuity mistake: During the opening day game, the angle of the shadows changes drastically between shots. (00:21:20)

Visible crew/equipment: During the first game of the season, The camera pans across the press box to reveal Harry Doyle for the first time. During the pan, the reflection of the camera can be seen in the glass. (00:33:25)

Audio problem: When the three die-hard Indian's fans are arguing over the ball that gets hit out of the park (a guy is saying "It's too high"), one of the guys says "Who gives a s***, it's gone". If you look closely at his lips, he is saying something entirely different. (00:38:00)

Continuity mistake: In his first pitching outing, Charlie Sheen is at the mound and the stadium clock can easily be seen in the background displaying twenty minutes to eleven. Now take into consideration that it is late in the ball game and it is a day game, this is not possible unless the game was started at nine o'clock or so. That's not even done on the west coast. The clock remains at 10:40 during various scenes of the film. (00:38:15)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Jake shows up at the apartment and there is a dinner party gong on, he is sitting and a tray of appetizers is passed around. The husband of the lady in the purple dress offers her the tray and she waves it off and he holds on to it. In the next scene, she is offering an appetizer to Jake. (00:48:25)

Audio problem: In the scene right after Eddy Harris steals Jobu's rum and then walks out of the dugout onto the field for practice, you can hear him yelling "Hey bartender, Jobu needs a refill", but it is extremely clear his lips are not moving at all. (00:53:15)

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Harry Doyle announces that Ricky Vaughn is one out away from his first major league victory and Vaughn is about to pitch to the A's Mike Rexman, watch as catcher Jake Taylor leaves homeplate and comes up to give Ricky some pitching advice. There are only a handful of people in the stands behind home plate (roughly 20). However, not even 30 seconds later when Taylor walks back to the plate and Mike Rexman stands in to bat, the area behind home plate is now FULL of fans, probably 100 or more. (00:54:35)

Continuity mistake: Jake Taylor follows Rene Russo home the second time, and then is seen surprising her in her own apartment at the top of the stairs. Later, he returns again inside the apartment, only to see Rene had probably moved in with Tom. How did Jake get in these two times? It is safe to say that he would have no reason to have a key to the place. (01:03:00 - 01:16:30)

Continuity mistake: In the morning after Charlie Sheen's character beds Dorn's wife, his necklace keeps moving around his chest. One minute its dangling off to the right, the next it's carefully centred on his chest, and in one shot it disappears completely. (01:17:40)

Other mistake: In the scene before the one game playoff Bob Uecker states that the Indians are going for their first league championship in over 30 years. In reality the win gives them a division championship and not a league championship. (01:20:08)

Continuity mistake: In the playoff game with the Yankees, the last out of the top of the first inning is recorded when Dorn throws out a runner on a ground ball. The first baseman in the scene is right-handed. Yet when they show a shot of the team coming off the field, the first baseman is left-handed. (01:21:20)

Continuity mistake: In the playoff game against the Yankees, right after Uecker announces Harris (the pitcher) is in trouble, there is a shot of him from behind the mound. It's a little out of focus, but look at his hair from under his cap. It doesn't match his hair in the next shot where you see him throwing a pitch. (01:22:35)

Continuity mistake: The batting order in the one-game playoff is Taylor-Dorn-Cerrano (as seen in the 7th), with Hayes batting before Taylor (as seen in the 9th). Cerrano hits the homer with two outs in the 7th, and Hayes is shown batting with nobody on, and two outs in the 9th. If they faced the minimum, Hayes would've been up with only one out (#5 batter gets the third out in the 7th, 6-7-8 batters get out in the 8th, and the #9 batter gets one out before Hayes). There's no way they could've gone through the line-up again without scoring a run. The furthest they could've gotten was the #8 batter (two spots before the leadoff Hayes) coming to bat in the 9th with two outs and nobody on. (01:23:30)

Continuity mistake: In the playoff game against the Yankees, Roger Dorn (#24) hits a single. We then see a wide shot of the runner rounding first base wearing #8. The closeup shot then shows Dorn in his #24 jersey. (01:23:46)

Continuity mistake: During the final game, the announcer says that Harris is "working on a seven hitter." He then gives up a double, but multiple shots of the scoreboard after that show the Yankees still with only 7 hits. (01:26:35 - 01:27:24)

Boyfriend: Stay away from her.
Jake Taylor: Suck. My. Dick.

Question: What brand of rum does Cerano have in his locker for Jobu?

Answer: At about 17 min. in is the best view of the bottle, it says "Bonded" at the top of the label, then just "Jamaca Rum". Below that you can barely make out "A Product of..." the rest is too out of focus.
