Loser (2000) - 17 mistakes

Continuity: When Paul goes to get pizza and a movie for Dora, the movie messes up the order that he gets them. First, he goes to the pizza place, and picks up a pizza, you can clearly see him holding a bag. Then, he goes to the video store (with a cameo by David Spade), he has nothing in his hands. Then, he has both after.

Factual error: When Dora and Paul walk into find the newborn baby kitten on the floor, it shows what a kitten would actually look like if it was newborn. However, after they save it and are with all the kittens later on, the kittens are walking around and they have their eyes open. Kittens don't open their eyes or walk for at least 2 weeks after being born. In the movie, they had just been born.

Other: When the waterbed on the bunk above Paul's bed begins leaking and he gets up to hold it, you can see that the water is not actually coming from the the mattress but somewhere, like a hose, concealed by the front wood panel.

Plot hole: Dora is sleeping after being taken to the hospital, she wakes up in Paul's bed. Assuming, she recognizes the place as the one where the fundraiser/party is held, how can she know that it was Paul's bed and that he lived there? Furthermore, she also seems to know that she was in the hospital, and that Paul was the one who took her. Seeing the exchange of dialouge between Paul and the doctor, and Paul and her, there was no way she could have known that information prior to her waking up.

Factual error: The movie is set in New York, but after Mena Suvari meets Zak Orth in the convenience store and he invites her to the party, they walk past a line of people waiting to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show. They're standing outside Lee's Palace, which is a) a music club which doesn't ever show RHPS, and b) in Toronto.

Continuity: When Chris and Paul are talking in the dorm room after Chris has finished dancing to "Pretty Fly (for a white guy)" and he pulls up a chair. Throughout the whole conversation all the shots behind chris show his hands crossed, but all the frontal shots show his hands down in front of him

Audio problem: Adam, Chris and Noah have their bags checked for drugs and alcohol, As Chris tilts the metal detector, you hear the black resident guy yell "Hey, my metal detector." When he comes into view, he's mouthing these same words again, but there is no sound.

Continuity: When Paul discovers the waterbed leaking, he wakes his roomates up and they both hold the bed up. Paul is wearing a brown T-shirt. You see Paul holding the bed on the right and the other guy on the left. The shot changes to the other 2 guys coming in the room behind them and you see Paul's brown T-shirt on the right of the screen when it should now be on the left. It shows Paul and his roomate again and they have swapped places.

Other: After Professor Alcott gives back the papers, he dismisses them. A girl then comes up, and you hear him saying something to the extent of "That's the grade we use for failure. See me after class." Didn't he just end the class?

Factual error: When Paul goes to rent a movie, his first words to (David Spade) are about what movie to rent. When (David Spade) vetoes both of Paul's choices, he offers him a third, which Paul accepts and then leaves. Not once did (David Spade) ask for an ID or video rental card. He didn't even check the movie out of the store's inventory.

Continuity: Dora and Paul are on Paul's bed playing with the kittens. The kittens they are holding change positions very quickly. It is not likely that very young kittens would move so fast.

Audio problem: During the scene where Chris is exercising and Noah is lying on his bunk, Chris tells Noah he got a girls phone number and says "Guess what she's got". After Noah replies "Herpes", Chris replies "No you idiot" but his mouth doesn't match the words.

Continuity: Chris, Adam and Noah have their bags checked by the guard, watch close as Chris hands the guard his backpack twice.

Factual error: At the end of the movie, text on the screen tells us that Dora received "financial aide." An "aide" is a person, whereas she would need financial AID.

Continuity: First of all, the two lead characters are in NYC and sneak into the 2nd Act of the musical Cabaret at Studio 54.  They talk about sneaking in for the 2nd act, but when you see them at the show, it is the opening number in the first act "Wilkommen."

Continuity: When you see a street shot, they show Studio 54 next to the Imperial Theatre. The mistake is a huge one - Sudio 54 is on 54th Street and the Imperial Theatre is on 45th Street.

Continuity: Paul and Dora try to give the weakened kitten to the mama cat, the mama cat switches sides through the whole scene. She goes from being closer to Dora(right side) to closer to Paul(left side)from shot to shot.
