Eagle Eye

Question: What was the real purpose of that short last scene of the movie? Our guess was that it was to advertise Rock Band. Anyone agree?

Answer: I think it was to show that Jerry and Rachel maintained a friendship after it all. Also to maybe, maybe hint about some kind of romantic future in the way that Rachel says, "you remembered", when her ex-husband was said to never have remembered Sam's birthday. That's my thoughts - I think it's just to let us know how the characters turned out.

Question: What was the purpose of the man driving up to Jerry and Rachel and run off angrily, only to get roasted to a crisp by the telephone poles? This never made any sense to me.

Brad

Chosen answer: I'm pretty sure it's to prove to the people watching the movie and to both Jerry and Rachel what can happen if they disobey, as after this event they followed the orders from ARIA closely.

Answer: Eagle Eye is based on an original idea by Steven Spielberg who had been inspired by Isaac Asimov's sci-fi novel "All the Troubles of the World." The idea is original, the inspiration for that idea came from the novel, so yes, he really did come up with the idea.

Question: Why does the soldier who helped Perez "kill" the computer not receive a metal, yet Perez does? Jerry, Ethan, Tom, and Perez all get metals, but he is excluded though he played a big part in stopping ARIA.

Answer: Simply put: That's politics.

Phixius

Question: Why and how did all that stuff end up in his apartment? Did the computer send it? If so, how and why? How was the FBI coming to his apartment "motivating" him?

Answer: ARIA sent the stuff to his apartment so the FBI would catch it and go after him. His motivation was that only ARIA could "save" him from the FBI, who was investigating him for terrorism.

Question: Why when they showed them being video taped was the date always 1-26-09? Was it supposed to be the future?

Answer: Yes, the movie is supposed to be set in Jan. 2009.

Factual error: There is no possible way to cause a power line to drop from its support pylons and hit a person on target. These wires are fastened extremely securely, designed to withstand extremely high tension through all kinds of weather, and they are not equipped with some sort of explosive charges to release them.
