Revealing: When Fletcher is beating himself up he goes into a stall and squishes his head with a toilet seat. You can see that the white part underneath is made out of foam because it keeps squashing down.

Cop: Do you know why I pulled you over?
Fletcher Reede: It depends on how long you were following me!
Cop: Why don't we just start from the top?
Fletcher Reede: Here it goes. I sped, I followed too closely, I ran a stop sign, I almost hit a Chevy, I sped some more, I failed to yield at a crosswalk, I changed lanes at an intersection, I changed lanes without signaling while running a red light and SPEEDING!
Cop: Is that all?
Fletcher Reede: [Forced] No. I have unpaid parking tickets.

Revealing: In the scene where Fletcher is in jail and talking to his ex-wife and he is yanked off screen by a guard. If you look into the reflection in the window of the door behind him you can see him and the guard bump into the wall off screen.
Continuity: In the scene where Audrey is in the mini-van with Max, she has her seat belt on, then the camera cuts to Max, and when it returns to Audrey with her seat belt off.
Other: When Fletcher is attempting to force himself to write the word "red" on his desk, in the shot before the "blue" is revealed, his pen is not even touching the desk and his final pen movement is a curve which doesn't correspond to an exclamation point.
Continuity: In the scene where Fletcher is in his office and he's trying to write that the pen isn't blue, he swipes everything from his desk and there's then an overhead shot showing the only thing left on his desk is a small piece of white paper on the right hand side. A few seconds later the piece of paper has disappeared and has instead been replaced by what looks like a drinking straw.
Continuity: When Fletcher moves underneath the wing of the plane on his flight of stairs, another plane is seen in front of him. It disappears when the pilot sees the shoe land on the windscreen. There is also no sign of the barrier and luggage area that he crashes into a few seconds later.
Continuity: The gift changes position from when Gretta holds it to when Fletcher takes it away.
Continuity: Towards the end, Fletcher is on the stretcher talking to Max, and looks at his watch to discover he has been able to lie for half an hour. Max then responds "So you lied?". Fletcher then grabs Max's shoulder with his left hand, saying "No! It was the truth!". As the angle changes he is still speaking, but his left hand is now lying across his chest before he reaches out to grab Max again.
Continuity: Just before Fletcher steers his flight of stairs under the wing of the plane, there is a shot taken from underneath the wing of the plane and you can tell by looking at the runway markings that the plane is suddenly barely moving, it appears to be moving about 5 miles per hour compared to about 30 miles per hour in previous shots.
Continuity: In the scene where Max is being driven to school, you can see that sometimes he has his seatbelt on, sometimes not.
Revealing: During the scene when Fletcher pummels himself in the courthouse restroom, the walls shake when he throws himself against them. The restroom walls were some type of marble or granite, and in real life would be very thick and rigid, making it very obvious this was a movie set.
Factual error: A minor only has a certain amount of time (typically, 6 months) to invalidate a contract entered into when such person was underage once that person turns 18 (or the age of emancipation in that state). This brings up a plot hole: If the marriage was not invalidated because Samantha Cole was underage, the prenuptial agreement would not be either, and Fletcher could not have used that argument to win the case, since he specifically states that she was seventeen at the time of her marriage.
Deliberate "mistake": When Fletcher is chasing the plane with the flight of stairs, he is able to catch up to it. The guy who fixed it must of been one hell of a mechanic because most flights of stairs don't go over ten miles per hour, while most planes get up to 50 miles per hour when taxiing.
Character mistake: When Fletcher calls Mrs. Cole to the stand, she's never sworn in by the bailiff.
Continuity: When Greta is packing her belongings away in a box, objects like rubber bands keep appearing in front of it, without her putting them there. The angle of the box changes as well.
Audio problem: When Fletcher gives Max his birthday gift, the shot changes as Fletcher starts to say, "I hope it's not partially digested." When Fletcher's face comes into that shot, you can see that his lips aren't moving.
Continuity: In the scene where Fletcher is driving the flight of stairs, and trying to catch up with the Tower Air jet, the sky changes from cloudy, to clear, to partly cloudy throughout the scene.
Revealing: In the scene where Fletcher drives out of the parking garage almost causing a car accident, you can tell it's his stunt double, because his stunt double is wearing sunglasses and doesn't look too much like Jim Carrey. Then it shows a back view of Fletcher speeding away and his sunglasses are gone.
Continuity: When Fletcher takes his son to the office, they step out the lift and a woman in a purple suit is seen walking to the left. In the next shot, the same woman is walking to the right.
Continuity: Just after Fletcher steals the yellow airfreshener from the car yard, he has his arms by his side. When the shot switches back to him, he has his arm on the counter. Considering that he was watching his car in such a shocked state, it's incredibly unlikely he would change to this position.
Continuity: In the scene where Fletcher is beating himself up in the bathroom, he gets a black eye. Throughout the rest of the movie, it disappears and reappears.
Continuity: Just before Greta hands Fletcher his son's birthday present, the cup and saucer on her desk disappears and re-appears between shots. Her glasses and the gift to herself also change position.
Audio problem: When Fletcher is on the stretcher talking to his wife and son, when the camera is behind him, his mouth is not in sync with what he's saying.
Continuity: During Max's birthday party near the beginning of the film, Audrey takes the cake out of the box and places it on the kitchen counter, and then puts birthday candles on the cake. In the next shot, the cake is sitting on a glass plate that wasn't there before.
Continuity: In the scene were Max is on the phone with his dad and his mom is in background at the sink, she picks up a glass and puts in the sink. Then you see Max again, then his mom puts the same glass in the sink again.
Audio problem: When Fletcher is trying to settle the case his client yells at him saying things like "I'm the victim here". In the behind shot of her head you can see that her lips don't match what she's saying.
Continuity: When Greta is packing her belongings in a box, she grabs a glass ashtray from behind Fletcher. She puts it in the box, then decides not to pack it and lays it behind the box. When Fletcher says 'Greta, don't leave!' the ashtray is back in its original position.

Audio problem: After Greta bails Fletcher out of jail, they are outside of the courthouse. Fletcher runs past a homeless man, then returns to him, taking handfuls of change from his pockets and throwing it at the man. Wouldn't you hear the change jingle in his pocket?
Revealing: When Fletcher starts beating himself up, look at the sink he's leaning against. It wobbles pretty good for a ceramic.
Revealing: In one scene, when Fletcher has the curse and he cannot lie, he's running away from everyone. Then the lift door opens and his boss comes out and she calls him, Fletcher runs away and takes the emergency exits stairway. Just before the door closes after him he bumps into the wall, and it shakes really hard.
Revealing: When Fletcher is smashing his head with the toilet seat, there is a clear shot of his face that reveals that it is another guy doing the job. He seems to love it though.
