When John gets out of the crashed jeep, he sits on the ground and picks up a shard of glass to slash himself. Aside from the mirrors which didn't get damaged from the impact, the windshield and front side windows are all safety glass. At no point do we see glass fly behind way behind the jeep, so where did the shard come from? See more...
