Continuity: Clean's dog tag and cross change between scenes. When he first hears the "Arc light" B-52 strike we see the cross hanging at the same level as the dog tag then when he meets Colonel Kilgore the chains have been rearranged so that the dog tag is two inches lower than the top of the cross.

Continuity: As Hubert says, "They put the French army in an impossible situation where they couldn't win." Notice Roxanne and the people next to her, whom are bathed in sunlight, in the next shot the woman has no sunlight on her at all.

Factual error: When LtC. Kilgore requests the air strike, you can see that the F-5s are not carrying any ordnance under their wings, except for a centerline fuel tank. Also, their color scheme varies from a white to a greyish one.

Continuity: As the men walk on the shore looking for Colonel Kilgore there's a field behind them across the bay. There's only a tank there but in the previous shot as they landed there were four helicopters along with the tank.

Continuity: After the 'Valkyrie' helicopter attack, there's a close shot of a soldier who shouts: 'I'm not going.' Another soldier turns back to the chopper to pull him out. Then there is a long shot of the troops at the choppers and you see the same soldier turning back to the helicopter.

Continuity: In the scene where the Boat captain gets speared, a poor job was done with the whole thing. First, the spear that the native throws is much bigger than the one that is actually stuck in the captain. Second, the spear that is in the captain would have been too small to throw with any accuracy, let alone that distance. Third, a spear of that size would not have had enough velocity to penetrate the captain all the way through his body.
