Continuity mistake: The CCCP emblem on the back of Irina Spalko's uniform appears and disappears between shots, most notably when she is descending off the cliff and we get a clear view of her back-minus the emblem.
Continuity mistake: When Indy tells the group to run away from the ants by jumping off the truck, Mutt jumps out, followed by Oxley. Shot changes, and Mutt is back in the truck, and Oxley is already out.
Visible crew/equipment: Indy is at the nuclear test site and exits the house and comes out front. He knocks over the boy on the bike and air raid siren goes off. Just as he stands upright, in the window with curtains, you can see a reflection of a crew member walking by.
Revealing mistake: During the campus chase scene, Mutt skids his bike and turns left to drive under a stone arch. Multiple skid marks are seen on the pavement from previous shots.
Continuity mistake: When the aliens kill the Russians, the group is launched out of the temple thanks to a jet of water. Seconds later they're all completely dry.
Continuity mistake: By the waterfall Indy says "Nobody else can" and then Mutt's wet hair swaps from brushed backwards to messy.
Continuity mistake: Mutt's bike passes by a group of strikers in the campus, and heads for the red banner. When the angle changes, a second group of strikers has suddenly appeared out of nowhere next to the banner.
Revealing mistake: When Indy and Mutt ride on the bike in the college gardens, there's a wide aerial angle that reveals that the distance to the red banner is very short, yet in every following angle they're repeating the same route over and over again (3 times at least) to make it look way longer and increase the suspense.
Continuity mistake: When Mutt and Indy run away on the bike, there's a shiny red car parked behind. A mere frame later, a dusty greyish car has magically appeared parked next to it.
Continuity mistake: At the start, after Irina Spalko unsuccessfully reads Indy's mind she slaps him a few times. Then she lowers her hand, but in the following close-up the hand is raised and being lowered again.
Continuity mistake: During the ants scene, Indy is about to grab a stick to the left of his hat. In the close-up the stick and the hat have swapped sides.
Continuity mistake: After Indy has been decontaminated, the lamp behind him swaps from lit to unlit between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Indy and Mutt are in the diner, two baddies show up, Mutt pulls out his knife and places it leaning to the left. In the close-up it's facing upwards, despite Mutt not having moved it.
Continuity mistake: After Mutt crashes his bike in the library there's a shot on a nerd. Watch the table behind him. A lamp suddenly appears in the second angle.
Continuity mistake: During the credits, while the young kids are racing the military car, the jeep behind always has a roof, as seen in all the outside and inside angles. However, in barely half a second, when the cars turn towards the base, the jeep has no roof.
Continuity mistake: When the race begins between the staff car and the hot rod, they immediately pull away from the convoy, as is logical. However, in the next shot the convoy is right behind the staff car again - which is still accelerating racing the hot rod. When the convoy pulls off the main road towards Area 51, the convoy again is right behind the staff car. (00:01:40)
Continuity mistake: While Mutt's bike is sliding along the library floor, right before it comes to a stop it's pushing a chair on the right. A frame later the chair has magically made a 180ยบ turn and moved half a meter to the right.
Continuity mistake: When Col. Spalko begins cutting the leather covering the alien corpse in the casket, no straps are seen. In the close-up shot a strap is suddenly visible.
Continuity mistake: In the race between the soldiers and the youngsters in the roadsters, there is a shot of boots on the military vehicle's pedals and the next shot is of sneakers on the same pedals.
