Revealing: During the fight scene, when Jake gets out of the car to fight the three guys in the yellow Hummer, Max lifts up his video camera after Jake throws his first punch. But after the fight, when all of the students are watching the fight on the net at school, it shows that Max is recording before the fight even begins.
Character mistake: In the party scene, where Jake is being shown the lakeside brawl, Max incorrectly states "force times mass equals acceleration". The correct formula is force equals mass times acceleration.
Continuity: On the first day of school in Orlando, Jake's undershirt is grey when he is wearing the flannel, but it is blue when the flannel is off.
Factual error: Throughout the film several students are seen handling iPhones in ways which iPhones simply do not work. When Tyler walks down the halls of his Orlando high school for the first time, a girl is seen watching a YouTube video of him holding her iPhone in portrait mode (iPhones and iPod touches only view videos in landscape). Later, several students are seen video recording the fighting matches, a feature which iPhone does not have.
