Since the mansion used in the movie belongs to Monmouth University, the pool that's in the basement had to be uncovered and converted back as it was and still is being used for administrative offices for the school.

In order to make the mansion suitable for filming, a number of the glass doors from interior archways between rooms (like the front entrance, the dining room and great room) were removed.

During the sequence early on in the mansion, all of the characters are dancing and singing. The maids dancing in the background around the dining room table, one of them accidentally knocks over 2 or 3 water goblets and hastily rights them again.
