Mistake Factual error: There is a scene near the beginning of the movie when the mist has just begun. A firetruck roars by, and has Caddo Parish Fire Dept. on the side. This movie is set in Maine. Louisiana is the only state with parishes. All others, including Maine, have counties.

Mistake Continuity: When Norm is pulled out through the loading door, he is first pulled all the way out. (He sits up, bangs his head, falls straight back down and is pulled another meter or so.) In the next shot, which shows him from above, his entire upper body is still inside the door, before he is pulled through again.

Mistake Continuity: When the tentacle monster rips out a chunk of Norm's chest, a large spray of blood splashes on his right-side jaw and cheek. In every subsequent shot of him, this blood is gone and his jaws are completely clean.

Mistake Continuity: Right after the storm they go to the supermarket where they are told that the electric is out there too (and no backup generators either). But as they are shopping, you can see that the glass-fronted freezers are lit up.

Mistake Factual error: At the very end of the film, when they are driving in the land cruiser, a white Maine state trooper vehicle is shown upside down. In reality, they are blue.
