Mistake Audio problem: After the aeroplane crashed, a dinosaur stepped over it and the windows shattered making the typical sound of made-of-glass things when broken. I can tell everybody (I'm a pilot) it is not accurate because they are made of plexiglass (a sort of fibrous plastic).

Mistake Factual error: Not so much of a mistake, but I want one of those satellite phones. I have a mobile which I can't hear in my pocket, let alone a hundred meters away in the belly of a dinosaur or later buried in a mound of dino dung. There is no way a 2001 phone's tiny speaker could penetrate that much insulation.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When the group was flying into the island, there's a shot of the plane flying in front of the cloud, and there's the obvious shadow of the helicopter that filmed that shot!

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Dr. Grant gets rescued by the kid and they are sitting in the water tank (truck) eating candy bars they show the kid eating a "Crunch" bar with no wrapper, just in the tin foil. In the next shot you see him eating the same candy bar but the "Crunch" wrapper is now on, then in the third shot it cuts back to the kid and the wrapper is gone and you only see tin foil again.

Mistake Continuity: When Dr. Grant dives in the water after they're attacked, he has his watch on his right hand before he dives in, but in the rest of the shots of Sam Neill he has his watch on his left hand.

Mistake Continuity: If you look at the scene where Grant and company are on the boat during the day, and pass by the field of dinosaurs you will notice that when Eric says "Dr. Grant" they both stand up to look at the dinosaurs, but when the camera shows the boat going along the bank and the dinosaurs, Eric and Grant get are sitting and then they stand up.

Mistake Continuity: After the crash Tea Leoni and the rest of the crew run and run and do some more running, and during all this they are all hitting mud puddles, creeks, dirt in general, but when this is all over Tea's yellow shirt is in fact yellow and not black or a dark yellow it looks as clean as it was when she was flying on the plane before the crash! Funny how everyone else looks semi-dirty though.

Mistake Continuity: In the fight scene between the Spinosaurus and the Tyrannosaurus, the Tyrannosaurus bites into the Spinosaur's neck, leaving it red in blood. Yet when the two dinosaurs are thrashing at each other, the blood and wounds are gone. Then when the Spinosaurus breaks the Tyrannosaurus' neck, the blood and wounds are back again.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Paul Kirby is climbing onto the crane in the river sequence you can see a light to the left of the operator's cabin. There was no power on that side of the island to power the light. To the right you can even see a blue tent standing perfectly. Surely the wind would have blown it over by now.

Mistake Plot hole: The spinosaurus manages to smash through a metal reinforced wall designed to stop dinosaurs getting past it without too much effort, yet it can't get through a wooden gate secured by some metal bars. It makes no sense.

Mistake Revealing: When the raptor in the InGen compound calls for help, the shots of the raptors responding are shots taken from other scenes in the movie.

Mistake Other: When Amanda is talking to Paul at the plane crash site she has put a new shirt on. Look at her when she's talking, shes playing with the collar. But when the camera is on her she is now playing with her buttons.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where the Spino is attacking the plane on the ground, he sticks his snout into the plane. After a couple seconds he takes his head out really fast. Watch the first couple frames of the plane in the next shot in slo-mo and you can see the Spino's mouth is still in the plane.

Mistake Other: When the aeroplane has to pull up as the Spinosaurus charges onto the runway, blood is splattered all over the cockpit window. The blood must have been from the sail of the Spinosaur because cooper was in its mouth. However the sail is fine in the fight scene and the window is clean when Amanda screams about the eye in the window.

Mistake Revealing: When the Spinosaurus bites the cockpit of the plane it hits the floor and breaks. But later when they go back to the plane it is now in perfect condition, and it is when they role over inside the plane.

Mistake Continuity: When the Kirbys find the video camera, the footage shows the boat they were being pulled by when it came out of the fog after the attack, but the camera was not used during that scene. It was attached to a strap and dangling at Ben's side.

Mistake Continuity: During the parasailing scenes at the start of the film we see the boat sailing through the fog and then the ropes being pulled to simulate the attack on the boat. As the boat comes out of the fog we see that its canopy roof has collapsed. The camera switches back to the parasailers and then back to the boat at a lower angle and the canopy is back up, albeit a bit battered.

Mistake Continuity: When Nash is crawling across the ground after the Spino dropped him, you can obviously hear the Spino taking several steps to get him. Yet, after Nash is eaten, the Spino is right in front of the plane when he roars at the rest of the people, as if he ate Nash as soon as he dropped him.

Mistake Other: Just after the crashed plane has been kicked by the Spinosaurus and stopped rolling, we see the Spinosaurus going towards the plane through a window. The Spinosaurus is not bending its head low in the shot, but its head is too high off the ground when it stands for this shot to be physically possible.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Dr. Grant and the others walk in on the feeding T-Rex, his mouth is slathered in blood. But when the T-Rex is battling the Spinosaurus, its mouth is clean.

Mistake Continuity: When they're are in the stampede of dinosaurs, Udesky falls and Paul picks him up. If you look at the film, Udesky is always coming last. Paul is always about 10-20m in front, but he magically morphs behind Udesky somehow when he falls. You never see Paul Kirby fall down, so that is ruled out.

Mistake Continuity: When Nash is pulled out of the airplane, he is pulled out by one leg. He is swung around for a few seconds by the leg, and then dropped to the ground. He drags himself for a couple seconds, and then gets on his hands and knees and tries crawling away. Both legs are perfectly fine, with no cuts or anything. How can he be on both knees if one of his legs was in the clamping jaws of the Spinosaurus?

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": When Amanda is viewing the large tubes, the camera pans a large distance, showing us that there isn't anything behind the tubes, especially something the size of a Raptor.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": Nothing could be seen through the green liquid in the large glass tubes, so how come the Raptor's head could be seen so easily?

Mistake Continuity: In the scene were the group watches the video on Amanda's camcorder it show footage at the beach and then it shows Ben and Eric para sailing. In this part the words said over the camcorder are noticeably different from the first scene in the movie where the footage was supposedly filmed. This is even more noticeable if you view it with the subtitles on.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where the plane is in the tree, the cockpit falls off. When the camera shows it hitting the ground, it breaks apart. When the rest of the plane hits the ground, the camera shows the cockpit again; it is intact.

Mistake Continuity: When Dr. Grant first picks up the bottle of T-Rex urine it is empty, in the next shot of it there is obviously fluid inside.

Mistake Revealing: In the scene where the Spinosaurus is attacking the plane (specifically, the part where it's rolling the plane along the ground), there's a shot in which the plane rolls over the camera, and we see Grant through the window, screaming. At the very end of that shot, the plane rolls completely over and past the camera, and we can see the rest of the clearing behind it...and the Spinosaurus is nowhere to be seen.

Mistake Continuity: At the end of the movie when the Dr. Grant uses his cell phone to call his ex and talks to her son it is night where he calls from and morning (judging the Barney reference on TV and that the woman is kissing her husband off to work)  Costa Rica is on the same longitude as Florida and Michigan on the globe.  Even if she were living in Maine (which she probably was not) the time from sun up in each location is less than an hour.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": Judging from the way the camera pans, and how the Raptor head moves accordingly, it's impossible for it to have actually been positioned behind the glass tube. The only way this look could have been achieved is if the head was inside the tube.

Mistake Continuity: In the diner, when Mr. Kirby is bribing Dr. Grant, after he says "We'd love to make a contribution to your research here" Dr. Grant lowers his glass to the table. In the following shot he does it again.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where the black guy borrowed the cellphone from Mr. Kirby, he had a shotgun on his back, but when he fell to the ground, he had a rifle.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Just after hearing the Spinosaurus roar, bright studio lights are reflected on the front of the plane when it is turning to take off from Isla Sorna.

Mistake Continuity: Tea Leoni's bruise on her cheek changes throughout the movie, once looking like a scratch, once looking like a bruise, etc.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam Neill opens the bag with the Raptor eggs in it, you can see the part of the bag that separates the eggs is completely intact, but in the next shot, that piece of the bag is all ripped and damaged.

Mistake Continuity: Near the beginning as Alan is giving his speech, the MC woman is standing, then sitting, then she is standing again but then sits down.

Mistake Continuity: At the start of the film we see two people parasailing. In the close up shots we see that the young boy is lower than the adult, and that the adult is holding the chute's handles above his head. In all of the wide shots, specifically the ones from the side, we see that the boy and adult are level at head hight (boy is harnessed up higher) and that the adult now has the handles at his shoulders.

Mistake Revealing: In the beginning of the movie where Billy and his female palaeontologist co-worker are working on a Raptor fossil you see him lean on the ground to brush some dirt away. As he leans on the supposedly hard rock you see it give a little, like it was Plaster-of-Paris on top of plywood.

Mistake Continuity: When Dr. Grant is holding the camera bag out the window in order to drop the eggs and get rid of them, the strap for the bag is hanging loosely. The shot changes to behind him and now the strap is bundled up into the fist holding the bag.

Mistake Continuity: The plane the group flies in is identified on the outside as a King Air 200.  In the inside shots, the windows are from another type aircraft as the window shades are pull down types and in the King Air the windows are tinted by rotating a plexiglass cover to dim the light. Also, the engine sounds are from a piston aeroplane and this plane is definitely a turbo prop.

Mistake Revealing: In the final showdown with the Spinosaurus in the river it is night time. When the characters get plunged into the river and they have the underwater shots, there is so much light it must be daytime.

Mistake Continuity: After Dr. Alan Grant gets done talking with Ellie, he backs up in his car.  As he pulls away, we can see that the interior dome/map light is blaring down on his hands that are on the steering wheel. After the instant angle change, however, the light is now turned off.  It cannot be argued that the light turned off automatically during that split second angle change because when the doors of a car are already closed, and the car is started -- the light turns off instantly (if not already off)  So this being the case, the light was manually turned in the first shot, and then it was off in the next.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where all of the characters are flying over the dinosaur island, you can clearly see power lines and poles on one of the hills. The island ran all facilities off generators, and would not have this type of power transmission.

Mistake Continuity: At the very end of the movie when the group is cornered by the Raptors, Tea Leoni gives them the eggs. When the first raptor picks up the first egg it is safe in its mouth, but in the next shot it is barely in its mouth, then in the final shot when the Raptor runs away, if you look closely at the Raptor's mouth the egg is well into the mouth.
