Mistake Continuity: When the baby dinosaur is breaking the egg, the eggshell is almost open on one shot, and starting to break with a different shape, in the next shot.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where the park ranger is about to shoot the raptor with his shotgun, we see him unfolding the butt of the gun. As he does this he places the butt under his arm. As the camera angle changes, he has the butt pressed fully against his shoulder.

Mistake Continuity: When Grant and Malcolm's car suddenly "just stops" you can see outside that they are in a thick dense jungle area. A few minutes later, the two parked cars are in a wide open area next to the T-Rex fence.

Mistake Continuity: Towards the beginning of the movie when John Hammond is in the trailer, he opens the refrigerator, takes out the champagne and opens it. The amount in bottle stays the same before and after he pours three glasses.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When the two Explorers start off on the tour of the island and the vehicles reach the Dilophosaur exhibit, there is a shot of Lex, Tim and Gennaro, looking out their Explorer's passenger-side windows. Right above their heads, fastened directly above each window, are wind-screen covered microphones. Obviously placed there to pick up actor dialog, neither of these particular mikes are seen again before or after this shot.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Tim is following Grant before they start the vehicle tour,Tim sits in the first car.Look to the right of the door frame and you will see a dark shadow get larger. This is obviously the camera. When Grant finally shuts the door the large shadow is even more visible.

Mistake Continuity: The dinosaur fossil the paleontologists are excavating in the overhead shot (when "Badlands, Montana" appears) has a different head than the one they were digging up in the shot right before.

Mistake Revealing: When Tim is shocked off the fence as the power comes back on, the sparking effects are not where his hands are touching the wire but several inches away.

Mistake Continuity: As the T-Rex is looking for Lex and Dr. Grant, Dr. Grant says "Don't move. He can't see us if you don't move." When he says this he is to the left of the wheel arch. Then, the T-Rex blows the hat off Dr. Grant who, with Lex is at the end of the upturned 4x4 when the T-Rex knocks it but in the next scene they have moved and are not at the end of the 4x4. They are back where they started, to the left of the wheel.

Mistake Continuity: Ellie, Muldoon & Dr. Malcolm are accelerating away from the T-Rex after having found the other Explorer. Just after Muldoon shouts "Bloody move!" and is looking at the gear stick, the shot changes and he is suddenly looking over his shoulder.

Mistake Continuity: When the camera zooms in on Dr. Grant helping Lex out of the crushed Explorer one of the hood level fog lights is missing (both should be missing considering the Rex stepped on the hood earlier), but they are both intact in the following scenes.

Mistake Revealing: When the Dilophosaurus spits at Nedry, you can see the smoke from the gun used to shoot the spit in his face, top left of screen.

Mistake Continuity: Hammond pours champagne into his glass and it's full of foam. After Grant says his line, when Hammond says, "...for the next three years." the foam is all gone. Foam from champagne takes longer to disappear.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Hammond and Muldoon enter the control room with the weather report look to the right of the door. The dark camera is visible in the reflection and it moves away as they walk by.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene just after the T-Rex snorts Dr Grant's hat off you can see him and Lex with their backs almost right against the overturned Ford Explorer. The T-Rex then butts upside down vehicle causing it to spin, only now, they have nearly a 3 foot head start.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where the T-Rex has come and nearly destroyed the car, Grant is trying to get Tim and Lex out of the car. Lex then screams and this causes Grant to turn around and cover her mouth. They are sitting on one side of a tyre on the car when Grant has his hat on. In the next shot (when the T-Rex has blown Grant's hat off) they are on the other side of the tyre.

Mistake Continuity: Just as they start going down the wire into the T-Rex paddock, in addition to the problem mentioned above with the ground level suddenly dropping, take a look at the wire. In the first shot underneath them it's curling up and towards the camera, like it's caught on something, then it changes angle, and the wire's hanging straight down.

Mistake Factual error: All of the strands of the high voltage electric fence Tim was hanging on were tied together. This means that all of the wires and Tim were at the same electrical potential. Tim wouldn't have gotten shocked. This phenomenon is referred to as "bird on the wire." Birds sit on live electrical wires all the time and do not get shocked because they are not touching the ground and therefore the electricity has no where to go. The only way for Tim to be shocked would be for him to be touching the fence and the ground simultaneously.

Mistake Continuity: During the close-up shots of Jophery being attacked by the velociraptor, he has been lifted high up but in an intermediate wide shot he can be seen back down on the floor.

Mistake Continuity: Just after Timmy puts the goggles on and climbs into the back with Lex she says, "don't scare me" and turns to face him as he crawls into the boot. In the next shot she is immediately facing in completely the opposite direction, looking through the window. This is just before Timmy says, "oh cool, night vision".
