Revealing: After Joe blows up the A-Bomb, the film is reversed for a second as is evident by Joe's "I Choked Linda Lovelace" shirt.

Joe Dirt (2001) - 38 mistakes
Directed by Dennie Gordon, starring Brittany Daniel, Christopher Walken, David Spade, Fred Ward, Jaime Pressly, Kid Rock (add more)
Revealing: When Joe is strapped to the atom bomb he orders a girl to show him her boobies. When she takes her top off, you see a back shot of her (so you can't see her boobs) but her body is transparent and you can see Joe's arm through her body. Obviously, the girl was superimposed onto the shot.
Audio problem: In the scene where the janitor is tap dancing in the hallway, the tapping sounds do not match up with the times that his feet hit the ground.
Revealing: When the cop drops off Brandy's dad and it first shows him with no leg, you can see his real leg behind him.
Plot hole: When Joe arrives at his parents' caravan, he is still narrating in the background even though the shot is no longer a flashback.
Continuity: When Joe is left at the Grand Canyon by his parents, he is wearing a green "Life is a garden, dig it" T-shirt, but when he is strolling down the path at the Grand Canyon (you can see it behind him) he is wearing a plain white shirt.
Continuity: The 8-track has name on front in the beginning, Then when Joe turns it down to show I.D, Its a completely different 8-track. But the same song is playing.
Continuity: When Joe is being thrown during the fight scene, You can see it's not David Spade, but the stunt guy.
Continuity: When Joe spins the tires for the security guy, The tire that's supposed to be spinning is on the left side. But after Joe says "does this look like a piece of crap to you?" It shows the right side spinning on close up 3 times, But when they show a wide shot of the car the right side is not spinning at all and the rubber burns are on the left side of the car.
Continuity: When Joe starts to hold up the picture of his parents butts, on the right side of the podium you see grass on the microphone. When Joe asks if any one has any info, the grass is gone. It happens a couple of times during the interview.
Continuity: When Brandy's dad has his foot stuck in the railroad tracks, from shot to shot he goes from being on the inside of the tracks, to the outside. Sometimes he's standing on the wood planks and other times he isn't.
Continuity: When Clem stops dancing and starts talking to the fire extinguisher, he throws the duster broom handle down, which is in the same direction as the duster. Then when he asks question, "Does your mother sew?" the handle of duster is now sticking out the wrong way.
Continuity: When Joe peels out and the security arm goes down it is split near the lower part by the gear box. Then when security guy kisses the arm, the split is gone. Use slow mo and you can see it.
Continuity: In the scene where Joe sticks his head into the aligator's mouth, while he is explaining the 3 rules, his cigarette changes hands from one shot to the next.
Continuity: In the scene where Joe sees the "dead" janitor, he goes under the police tape twice (once when he is talking to the police officer about the death, then again when he goes to say goodbye to the janitor.)
Continuity: At the croc farm, Joe is explaining the rules. Just after he says, "I'm number one," the shot cuts and his cigarette has moved instantly from his hand to his mouth.
Continuity: In the scene just after Joe finds his parents, when they are sitting in their trailer talking, his parents have a stuffed clown between them. Just before Joe asks them if there ever was a time when they'd be staring at the moon, the clown is slumped forward with its face not visible. In the next shot, when his mom starts her sales pitch about having clowns for sale, the clown is now standing upright between them.
Continuity: When Joe is on the bridge and before he starts talking to Brandy, in some shots his boots are facing away from her, but in others you see him turned towards her.
Continuity: At the end of the movie in the scene with Joe and his parents, after Joe leaves the trailer, his dad has a beer in his left hand, then not, then again, then not.
Plot hole: The scenes involving Kickin' Wing, Clem, and the radio station are supposed to be years apart. When Joe is driving to the Hall of records, Kickin' Wing states that the incident was "more than ten years ago." Joe was abandoned in 1979, meaning this scene takes place between 1989 and 1993. In the scene where Joe denies that he saved the kids (from the gas), he refers to the incident as "15 years ago" meaning the scene takes place in 1994. By the time he gets to telling his story on the radio, it is 2001, and curiously, Joe never seems to age at all in between that time.
Other: When Joe falls on the bungie, we see him hit his head in an entirely vertical position with his head at the top. This could not have been achieved considering the position he was in in the shot before.
Continuity: At the end of the film as Joe and "family" are getting into the convertible, Christopher Walkens' character starts to get into the car and has one leg fully into the car, the next shot shows him still a few feet from the car and starting to lift his leg into the car.
Continuity: When daddy tells Joe & Brandy he's taking the dog hunting & opens the car door, Charlie's collar has a buckle to the back. Watch Charlie's buckle, It changes from back to front to back again.
Visible crew/equipment: When Joe is having sex with the girl after she says she is not his sister, there is an outside shot of the shack shaking with a lamp rocking back and forth. If you look carefully, you can see the filament used to make the lamp move.
Continuity: After being captured by Buffalo Bob, Joe Dirt is put in a large hole, where Bob forces him to rub lotion all over himself to skin him in exchange for giving him Auto Trader magazines. Joe is reading one right before the police come, but when the shot changes, it has disappeared.
Continuity: When dealership guy says the best he can do is give Joe a print out, his hands never touch any keys to start printing the document.
Revealing: When Joe is on the bridge and about to jump, the cop ropes him with a bungee cord. It's a single-stranded cord with a loop like a lasso. When Joe falls, however, it is a multi-stranded bungee cord with a proper ankle wrap. Obviously, it wouldn't be safe if the stunt man jumped with just a lasso, but it's obvious that it's two totally different ropes.
Continuity: In the oil well scene during the fight, Joes coveralls have a bright clean patch on the back, but when the bad guy throws him to the ground the patch is dirty, a few seconds later as he kisses the girl and shares his skoal with her the patch is clean and bright again.
Factual error: In the scene where Joe Dirt is talking to the sales rep at the dealership about who ordered the Rambler wagon, the sales rep mentions it came with a 258 cubic inch engine. No Rambler ever came with the 258 six. American Motors (makers of the Rambler line) came out with the 258 in 1971, 2 years after the last car with the Rambler name (the Rambler American), was sold in 1969. Although I was impressed that they bothered to mention an actual American Motors engine, it's still not correct.
Continuity: When Joe Dirt meets the girl at the fair and is talking to her, in one shot her top straps are down, the very next shot she is pushing them down.
Continuity: In the scene where Robbie is reading Joe the note from Brandy, Joe has dandruff on his shoulders. In another shot in the same scene, the dandruff is gone.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Joe goes to Buffalo Bob's house, as he is pulling up to the house you can see the shadow of the camera man in the passenger's seat.
Continuity: At the end of the movie when Joe, Brandi, Kickin' Wing, Gert B. Frobe, and the alligator girl are in his car, Robbie pulls up along side of them. Joe pulls out, spinning dirt and rocks toward Robbie's car, and a camera shot from inside his car shows Joe's car speeding away, and the windshield is completely clear. But in the very next shot, from in front of Robbie's car, the windshield is broken, and has 2 places where it appears as if large rocks had hit, but they weren't there seconds before, and the dust and flying rocks had already begun to clear by that time. It is illogical for a rock large enough to do that kind of damage to his windshield to have suddenly kicked up, judging from the distance it shows Joe's car away from Robbie's in the previous shot.
Continuity: When Joe arrives at the old house, both his hands are on the gate. Then when you see Joe again from the sidewalk, his left hand is not touching the gate anymore.
Factual error: When Joe is at the dealership talking about the Rambler, the dealer says they came with a 289 automatic with 3 on the tree. It is impossible to have both an automatic transmission and a "3 on the tree" which is a manual transmission, at the same time.
Continuity: When Joe Dirt and the indian are in the desert and they are playing with the roman candles, Joe Dirt trips on the A-Bomb and the candle stick flies out of his hand. But in the next scene, when he wakes up the candle stick is in his hand again.
Continuity: Seen from the hot air balloon, the passing airplane is a 747. In the close-ups of the cockpit, the plane is a Convair 880, as seen by the distinctive window arrangement.
Continuity: The Indian's braids change length and density from his initial meeting with Joe to later scenes.
