When Joe Dirt finds out where he lives in Louisiana, there is a guy (Framer Fran) that speaks very strangely. He is played by Blake Clarke who played the same farmer character in The Waterboy.
In the scene where Joe gets stopped by the cop before talking to Clem, the cop is Chris Farley's brother.
When little Joe comes out of the trash can he's not at the Grand Canyon, he's in Utah as told in the DVD commentary.
