Continuity: On the small sand spit, when Jack, Elizabeth and Barbossa meet with Will, Beckett, and Davy Jones, the leather cuff Jack wears on his right hand actually disappears and reappears twice during the meeting.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007) - 71 mistakes
Directed by Gore Verbinski, starring Chow Yun-Fat, Geoffrey Rush, Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom (add more)
Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy
The boy at the start is NOT wearing braces - he's just got dirty teeth.
Continuity: At the front door of Sao Feng's, after Elizabeth removes her hat, it cuts to the removal of her decorative vest (totally skipping her jacket), revealing her weapons' holster harness underneath, and she then tosses her vest at Sao Feng's man. Problem is the man doesn't catch her vest, he actually catches her empty weapons' holster harness. But, in the next few shots she's still wearing that holster harness, as she removes her lovely weapons.
Continuity: The cord necklace Will wears, which has several things dangling from it - particularly a distinctive white shell, flips round the opposite way between shots within a scene, several times during the film. For example, before and after the maelstrom, including the ceremony Barbossa performs.
Continuity: When Beckett boards the Dutchman and speaks to Jones, he has very noticeable dark facial stubble, but bizarrely, in his next close-up he is actually clean shaven, his wig curl has shrunk and his eyebrow hair is neater.
Revealing: After the military attack Sao Feng’s residence, when Elizabeth is seen fighting amid the melee the black spandex-like shorts are visible under her robe as she kicks up.
Continuity: During the mass hanging, in the close-up of the boy's fingers fiddling with the coin he has clean hands and long untrimmed nails, but in the wideshot the boy's hands are filthy and his fingernails are bitten short.
Continuity: The worn areas of Jack’s leather hat drastically changes throughout the film. Additionally, the hat has a threaded ‘X’ on both its right and left side. In numerous close-ups extra thread holes are visible in different areas near each of these Xs; such as in the Locker, when Jack lies on the ground as the Pearl passes by and later, on the little island, before Jack switches places with Will. In other shots those extra holes are gone, such as when Jack sets sail for the Fountain of Youth. The actual sizes of the Xs also change.
Continuity: After Will escapes the brig aboard the Pearl, as he stands on deck with Jack, the rope wound round the dead soldier lying atop the barrel differs depending on camera angle.
Continuity: When Will walks toward the shoreline, Elizabeth runs to join him and both leave tracks in the sand. When Elizabeth is alone, as the Dutchman disappears, the trail in the sand distinctly differs - not do to water or wind.
Continuity: When Barbossa and Elizabeth go to meet Sao Feng, she is asked to get rid of all her weapons. When she places the homemade grenade on the table, it gets placed on the edge of a red cloth where you can see the table at the end of the cloth, yet when she places her final weapon, the red cloth is now almost completely covering the table.
Continuity: When Barbossa is talking to Calypso on the Black Pearl, right after he says, "Masters Pintel and Ragetti, take this fishwife to the brig," there is a shot of Pintel and Ragetti leading her down the deck's steps. The Black Pearl is pitching strongly up and down. In the next shot, where Barbossa looks at and flexes his hand, the ship is barely pitching at all.
Continuity: Aboard the Dutchman, when Jones's crew shout, "The Admiral's dead," Norrington's black scabbard lies conspicuously at his right side, but when he stabs Jones the scabbard is gone.
Continuity: When Jack begins to speak to Captain Teague, Teague’s left hand is under the guitar frets, but in the shot facing Jack that hand rests atop the guitar, then when Teague says, “It’s not just about living forever, Jackie,” his left hand is under the frets again.
Continuity: When Will is at Sao Feng's, the rope binding his wrists differs depending on camera angle.
Continuity: The size of Beckett's wig curls change between consecutive shots of different angles, such as when he boards the Dutchman and speaks to Jones.
Continuity: Aboard the Dutchman, when the shot pans towards Jones as he plays the organ, the silver musical box’s point faces left, but in the next close-up it faces right.
Revealing: The outline of Pintel’s yellow contacts are obvious in some of his close-ups, depending on his facial expressions, such as when he speaks of the green light as they sail towards the Locker.
Continuity: At the meeting of the brethren, when Barbossa stands on the table and fires his pistol, the height of the left and right cannonballs he holds differs between shots (the difference between each other, not to the table).
Continuity: When Jack is on the Black Pearl in Davy Jones' Locker, the are scratches on his right hand. But a few minutes later when Barbossa leads the crew to Jack's rescue, the scratches are gone.
Revealing: At the beginning of the film, when Sao Feng is introduced, a couple of his real nails are visible under the fake long dirty ones glued atop them. It's most noticeable when he scratches his head.
Continuity: When Davy Jones is talking to Calypso/Tia Dalma in the brig, her mascara runs because of her tears. In the next shot, the streaks are gone and it's perfect again.
Continuity: At Sao Feng's, when Pintel looks up under the wood planks, in the shots from below the husky fellow's toes are seen perpendicular to the floor boards and its gaps in between; however, in the shots from above, the floor boards run parallel to his toes/feet.
Visible crew/equipment: The reflector screens are reflected in many of the characters’ eyes in close-ups. One example is when Will says, “Depends on the one day,” aboard the Dutchman.
Continuity: At the meeting of the brethren, when Ragetti collects the pieces of eight, the items in the bowl and the red cloth change positions between shots.
Continuity: At the end, when Jack says, “Drink up me hearties, yo ho,” the compass rope flips its direction, from hanging across his palm to over the back of his hand, between shots, including the compass close-ups.
Continuity: The shape of Will's long scar is entirely different, between the time he commands the Dutchman to when he leaves Elizabeth after their day together.
Other: Near the end of the movie, an order is given to fire a cannon shot at the masts of the Pearl and the Dutchman as they have become entangled. We then see a mast being destroyed by the shot but when the ships separate, not one of them has a broken mast.
Other: In numerous shots modern bobbypins (the white kind brides wear on their headdress) are clearly visible inside the curls of the men’s white wigs. For instance, they can be seen when Norrington is reunited with his sword; later when he dies; when Beckett talks about the immaterial becoming immaterial; finally, when he says, “It’s just good business,” as the Pearl and Dutchman fire on Endeavor. The type of 'hair pin' seen in the wig curls did not exist in the mid 18th century.
Continuity: After the Pearl makes an interesting return to the Locker's shore, Jack walks toward everyone on the beach, leaving a trail in the sand behind him. As Jack speaks to them in one wideshot, his trail in the sand near the long boat disappears (not due to the water).
Continuity: At the mass hanging, when the singing begins, in one shot of the people (with the boy) standing at the gallows, the others down below, who wait at the head of the line, are also seen behind them singing. In a following shot, some at the head of the line differ.
Continuity: When Sao Feng is first introduced he has a red scarf tied round his pinky, and the way it is knotted differs between the following shots.
Continuity: Aboard the Pearl, after Elizabeth asks, “What shall we die for?” and begins a rousing speech to the crew, her hairstyle differs significantly in following shots (despite the wind).
Revealing: Just after Barbossa and Elizabeth reach Sao Feng's residence, down below when Gibbs pulls the bars they actually bend.
Continuity: The position of Bootstrap's knife embedded in the deck rail changes, from the time Will slams it into the wood to when Bootstrap removes it.
Continuity: In the Locker, before Governor Swann says, "Elizabeth? Are you dead?" in his close-up Elizabeth is seen in the background crossing the broken rail beside Jack, but two shots later she crosses that part of the rail again as she shouts to her father.
Continuity: The ends of Jack’s red scarf and dangling beads and do-dads change position between numerous consecutive shots throughout the film.
Continuity: As Barbossa, Elizabeth and Jack walk towards Will, Beckett and Jones there is a close-up of the latter’s feet on the sand. In the next shot, the sand around their legs significantly differs.
Continuity: When Johnny Depp's sitting next to the goat and it turns its head to face him, he goat's body is turned to the right, but when we see a closeup shot of it its body is now turned to its left.
Revealing: Throughout the movie, the edges of Barbosa's yellow contacts are easily visible (especially in the scene where he orders Calypso to the brig).
Continuity: After Elizabeth is made Captain by an injured Sao Feng, her hairstyle significantly differs in the following shots, particularly when she is with Norrington on deck.
Continuity: When Sao Feng punches Jack, the lace on Jack wrist is barely frayed and pretty clean; however in previous shots it is very frayed and filthy.
Continuity: At the mass pirate hanging, the left sock (viewer’s right) of the man who stands beside the boy is up to his knee. When they sing, “Heave ho,” that sock is down, but when they sing, “Never shall we die,” it’s higher up again.
Continuity: When Sao Feng's ship fires on Beckett's ship (when Beckett's captain asks if Sparrow has a plan or just makes it up as he goes along). Endeavour, Beckett's ship, loses her mainmast due to battle damage. In reality, as no ship carried a spare mainmast, Endeavour would have had to limp slowly back to port, refit a new mast and rigging, and then return to battle. This would most likely take weeks. Endeavour is spotlessly repaired a few scenes later.
Continuity: In Davy Jones locker when Jack rides the Pearl down the beach and it goes into the water there is no anchoring line, when he says he has a ship there is an anchoring line, and in subsequent shots the line is gone again.
Continuity: When Will asks Elizabeth to marry him, a lock of her hair goes from over her eye in one shot, to behind her ear the next.
Factual error: Singapore seemed to be predominately East Asian when in fact it should have been predominately Southeast Asian. Totally different race. The Chinese only started settling there in modern times.
Continuity: Near the end of the film, during the close haul battle with the Endeavour, the East India Trading Co flag on the back of the Endeavour changes during the scene from initially being blue with white letters into white with black letters. This is first noticeable during the last overhead shot of the ships before everyone yells "fire!"
Continuity: At the beginning, when Elizabeth runs into Sao Feng's 'henchmen', the guy talking says, "Particularly a woman", and in these shots watch the guy behind, his hat is down. Yet when Elizabeth and the three henchmen turn to look at Barbossa, the guy's hat is now cocked upwards, so the camera can see a lot more of his face.
Continuity: On the island with the contaminated water, when
Pintel rolls over the dead body in the wideshot, his left hand is under the body's arm gripping the body, but when it cuts to a close-up, Pintel's left hand grips the body's arm.
Continuity: When the Black Pearl crew are captured by Sao Feng, there is a shot of Will and Elizabeth with Will being held back by a metal pointed object round his neck. In the next shot with Will in the background, the metal object is gone.
Continuity: When Jack is in Davey Jones' locker, and he is messing around with the rock, there are a few close up shots of his face and there is a bump, probably a pimple, on the left hand side of his face, by his lower lip, and a few shots later it is gone. It disappears without enough time passing for it to have gone away of its own accord.
Continuity: During the scene where the crabs in Davy Jones' Locker are helping to move Jack's ship, the camera does a close-up of Jack's face, in which he has a very amusing expression. In the next shot, the camera has pulled back from him, and his face and angle are entirely different.
Continuity: In Singapore, Ragetti looks up through the floor boards and acts like he sees Elizabeth, but when you see his eye through the crack in the floor, it's the brown wooden which he cannot see with (his other eye is blue).
Continuity: During the maelstrom battle when Will stabs Davy Jones, his shirt is noticeably soaking wet. But after he is knocked to the side of the ship, his shirt is nearly completely dry.
Continuity: When Elizabeth is giving her speech about the crew of the Pearl, her arm is either straight or bent depending on the angle.
Other: After the ship goes over the waterfall, the entire crew is seen crawling from the ocean onto land, completely soaked. However, Mr. Gibbs' beard is completely dry.
Continuity: In the beginning of the movie just after the East India Trading Company soldiers have ambushed Sao Feng, Barbossa and the others, Jack the monkey lays a rocket on the side of the bridge, if you watch closely, the rocket moves/rolls to its left, yet just before it flies through the air it's straight again in this shot.
Continuity: Elizabeth has a beauty mark above the corner of her right eyebrow which actually disappears in some of her close-ups. For instance, when she is with Norrington and asks, “Know what? Which side you chose?” and later, when he kisses her. Later, in the scene with her son, the beauty mark is gone in one close-up and then just reappears in the next one, as she glances at her son.
Deliberate "mistake": Below deck aboard the Pearl, when Will says, “You make your choices in life…,” and later, when Elizabeth and Will are on the beach, Elizabeth’s eye makeup and curled up lashes are very apparent in her close-ups.
Factual error: In the final scene, when Jack Sparrow is looking at the map to find the Fountain of Youth. The map lists Ponce de Leon's travel date of 1523. The actual date of the Fountain of Youth founding was 1513.
Continuity: When Elizabeth is holding a knife to the Chinese man's throat, the other man whistles to alert them of soldiers on the bridge. Elizabeth then grabs hold of her large hat, as she is turning and moving back against the wall, yet in the following shot her hand is down.
Continuity: When Captain Vallenueva says, “I still agree with Sao Feng,” and slams the pistol down, things on the table change position in following shots.
Audio problem: In the scene where Davey Jones is playing his organ, the sound is backwards to the way it should be. When he hits the lower notes, the sound emitted is actually *higher* than when he hits the higher notes.
Continuity: When Elizabeth is making her speech to the pirates near the end of the movie her hair moves from over her shoulders in front shots to behind her shoulders in shots from behind.
Continuity: When Captain Teague looks up the Code in the book by Morgan and Bartholomew, in the close-ups the fingers of his right hand runs across the line "It shall be the duty of the Pirate King", but next wideshot it's his left hand doing the page scanning, with his right hand at his side.
Continuity: The scar on Sao Feng's left side moves around between the shots, mostly up and down.
Continuity: Just before Pintel and Ragetti are about to fire Jack, the monkey, out of a cannon, the monkey and barrel point out of a partially destroyed gun port, with its hinged port lid missing. Once Ragetti lights it, in the close-up just as Jack blazes out, the frame of the gun port is perfectly intact, as is its hinged port lid above it.
Continuity: Close to the beginning of the film when Barbossa is explaining to Will about the green flash, look closely at the chinese man's hat, it has two icicles on the front of it, and in one particular shot just after Pintel interrupts Gibbs you can see that one of the icicles has been broken or dropped off, and then in the following shot it has reappeared again.
Continuity: When the Flying Dutchman and the Black Pearl destroy the Endeavor, they work their way from the front to the rear of the ship. Yet the wave of destruction is actually shown to be moving forwards along the ship following Lord Cutler Beckett down the steps from the wheel.
Other: When Beckett walks through the ship which is being destroyed by cannon fire in slow-motion, you can see things like banisters and railings exploding right by him, and yet no cannonballs are seen, the ship just spontaneously explodes.
Continuity: After Jack and crew are brought back to life, Elizabeth looks out to sea and says "it's a sunrise". Then there is a shot of Barbossa looking at the sunrise. In the next shot he quickly turns around and points his pistol at Jack. The lighting in these two shots changes significantly, where the first is warm, red, sunrise-type light, and the next shot looks as though it was filmed in the middle of the day.
