In the final game against Xavier, they refer to number 19 on Xavier, whose name is simply given as "Crawford", as "Xavier's All-American tailback" when he fields the kickoff. Tailback is simply another word for halfback, but he is playing wide receiver the rest of the game and is never at the halfback position (hence he has to be guarded by Nate Ruffin, the other team's ace cornerback). As a wide receiver, he would not be announced as a "tailback". [In the Game of Xavier vs Marshall, college rules dictate a ball with stripes on each end. Professionals use the solid football. The game ball given to the college president had no stripes and all scenes of that football game for the movie had no stripes on the ends.]

In the game against Xavier, on the final play in which Reggie Oliver throws the dramatic, game-winning TD pass, the defensive lineman hits him just as he releases the ball. In the shot when he releases it, the pass is wobbling badly out of his hand. When it's flying through the air, it's a perfect spiral. See more...
We Are Marshall (2006) - 2 corrections
Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

In the scene where Dr. Dedmon is visiting with Jake Lengeyl he mentions that he has had "four months of complicated". With the crash happening in November, four months after would be February. The weather at Jakes house in Ohio was rather nice for February (or even March). The grass is green, trees are full of leaves. The weather outside should be like winter, not spring. [4 months from the crash would have been February, but he was referring to the search for a coach. First they were going to cancel the season, then they brought it back, then they went looking for a coach, all of which could easily take a few months or more. Dedmon is talking about 4 complicated months trying to find a coach for the team, not saying that it's been 4 months since the plane crash.]
